Have this game, mainly for kids. get boring quick. I don't hate it but rarely spend more than 5 mins at a time playing it.
this is the only DE pin i own and I am impressed with the build quality.

At the end of the day, every pinball is fun... and so is this one, just perhaps not as fun as others.

And not sure why April looks like a hooker on the backglass.......

I grew up on TMNT and this was my first pinball machine, so I had a lot of fun with it despite it's many flaws. The layout isn't terrible but it's pretty much the same as the rest of the DE titles of that era. At first I loved all the sounds and found the sewer shot challenging and rewarding, but after a few months the simplicity and repetitiveness was driving me nuts. I almost couldn't be in the same room as it anymore.

It's a great machine to put on location, it's familiar enough and flashy enough that it draws in a lot of plays. Customers also don't usually stick around enough to get tired of it. I guess it's strongest traits are ultimately it's biggest flaws. The only thing I miss about it is the beautiful mirrored backglass, April's porno tits were pullin on my 12 year old heart strings.

I love the sounds and most of the art. April has some unnecessary cleavage like most older machines. The game play is pretty shallow, but I like the sewer. I got bored with it pretty quickly.

What is the deal with April's boobs?! All her tmnt royalty checks must have been able to afford her a new set.
The art is nice on the game. I enjoy the original ninja turtles theme song. That guy who keeps yelling "ninja" does get old. The playfield layout is unique. and the rules do seem a big shallow. But sometimes it is fun just to flip away and not worry about deep rules.

I love this title, I was hoping that someone could come up with some reproduction ramps and michaelangelo plastic piece. This title is very fun and it is quite a challenge to hit the sewer shot for 10 million

I love TMNT, but not this game. Maybe one of the worst layouts ever. Left ramp...left ramp....left ramp....that's all you do. The sewer kickout is not unique and doesn't work all that well....the spinner makes the left ramp slightly harder but not really adding to anything. Great side art, playfield is ok

Sound quality is very low, and it isn't the exact theme, sounds like a knockoff.

I'm a big Turtles fan, so take this for what it is. The game isn't that amazing...but it's still TMNT! If you like the theme, the game is just fun. It plays the theme song to the show-that alone is enough for me to love this game. This one has many shortcomings, but if you're a Turtles fan, it's definitely worth a few plays.

I'm a big TMNT fan, so I'll try to be unbiased. If you like pinball and like TMNT, then you'll surely like this game. I enjoy the art and especially enjoy the back glass. Wowzers April. Music and sounds/voices are also good for a Turtle fan.
But, I can see non-turtle fans not getting a lot out of this pin. Not a lot of shots. Heavy on the left ramp. But, for me, I very much enjoy this pin.

Edit: theme wears thin and you realize how disappointing this is to play. It's a shame. Amazing theme, but very poor pin.

TMNT is a game based off of a movie that was based off of a tv show that was based off of a comic book.

The Pros:
A really solid layout with lots of ramps, lanes and targets to shoot for. I really like the pizza randomizer and the action on multiball.

The Cons:
The rules are poorly thought out and a decent player will be bored with this deck after a few plays. How can a game with this cool of a layout be hamstringed by such a poor ruleset?!? AAAAaaaagh!

The Takeaway:
A great affordable game for kids and fans of the series. Personally, Id rather order a pizza and enjoy the comic book. The topper says: "Play pinball Dudes!" Well, maybe not this one.

Update:
I got my hands on a nice copy of this game and I have to admit, this game is lots of fun. Not deep, not complex, but pinball fun is one of my favorite kinds and this game when properly set up and maintained... has it. I like the cycling targets on the 4 banks ala pinbot to light the entire bank with a single sniped shot. Hitting the ramps in quick succession and then the sewer for 10 mil is challenging and fun! The best dots on a smaller DMD by far.

Update v.2:
This game isn't that much fun. Especially when the ball kicks out from the sewer VUK and it goes SDTM, with consistency. Yay...

This was my first and only pin. I was bored with it after only two months.

The theme is done well, and I love the artwork. It's nice enough to look at, but it's not fun. The rules are simple, and a good scoring game depends on you hitting both ramps and then the jackpot shot. Aside from some 2 player action, this game didn't engage me.

the only reason anyone would buy tmnt is that nostalgic feeling you get when you see it. I admit it is pretty fun but on the same token it is pretty lame. two player is fun because you can have a competition with a friend. but single player mode playing this machine by yourself is quit boring and repetitive... "shoot the ramp, shoot the ramps." " I hate turtles" one of the most annoying voices any pinball has ever incorporated.

Great theme but just not a lot going for this pin, gameplay revolves around shooting left and right ramps

If you're a fan of the Ninja Turtles and pinball, you won't be let down.

Just bought this as my first pin, and so far I think it's an all-around great pin... Especially as far as fun-factor and affordability, for anyone looking for a first pin.

Is it the best pin I've ever played, and does it have a deep rule-set? No.
Is it a fun pin that has difficulty, fun shots to hit, and an overall good flow? Absolutely.

Added bonus, if you're a fan of the Ninja Turtles franchise, you won't be let down. The art and game features throughout the backglass, table, cabinet, soundbytes, etc. all recall popular TMNT themes throughout the comics, movies, & cartoons.

Also, as far as multi-player goes: There's a great feature for the winner of a mult-player game called Winner's Circle, where you get to play "Turbo Ginsu!", which is a 3-ball multiball for about 20 seconds and add to your final score.

As a first pin in your home, you probably can't get much better that TMNT. It's all here, but in a basic enough package for a first time pin owner to wrap their head around. While lacking the deep complexity of play of later DMD titles like Theatre of Magic, Twilight Zone or Medieval Madness, TMNT is a fast low scoring game that is sure to evoke childhood memories.

The game is basic enough that novices can play with ease, but has a couple of tricky shots for advanced players, most notably the 10 million point combo shot (left ramp, right ramp, sewer) that is next to impossible to nail.

The spinning pizza, real 1988 TMNT Toys, themed music and excellent cabinet art make this a stunner in a collection, as non pinheads will instantly recognize the theme and colors. The backglass is weak, the April is just silly with the fake boobs, but its overlooked.

Along with Tommy and Jurassic Park, this is one of the few Data East games that are really worth owning in my opinion, if for no other reason than to give your collection some depth of use for a variety of guests over to your house. It's not the be all end all by any means, but its a fun, solid player that appeals to players of all ages.

I have currently played about 200 games on the machine and I am not even close to bored with it. No plans to sell either. Hope you enjoy.

I was too old to get into TMNT as a kid so the call outs annoy the heck out of me. The The playfield artwork is good but the backglass could be better. The two ramp entrances together is interesting but they are very narrow and difficult to make and disrupts the flow. The pizza disk isn't well implemented IMO. Not a very good game.

I owned this one for a bit when my kids were younger. They quickly outgrew this one... Not a great pin but if found at a low price it isn't terrible.

Game gets a lot of hate, but I enjoy it. Now, I grew up on the TMNT cartoons, movies, video games, and comics, so it only made since this was my first pinball machine. This game will humble you. Game is wicked fast when set proper. Most people that come to my house just can't stand it because of how mean and unforgiving it is. Of coarse me being a TMNT fan a think the artwork rules, especially April on the translight, yummy. Pretty simple ruleset but the 10 million point sewer shot is very satisfying and not easy to hit. The spinning pizza is always cool, and the sewer subway shot is always fun to hit. "I LOVE BEING A TURTLE!"

The first pin I bought for my private collection. I loved TMNT as a kid and it was cheap. This is a great simple little game. It is the first game people go to in my collection and is the one they leave saying is their favourite. I think the sound helps. Yes it has simple rules and the point scoring is a little biased towards the 10 million ramp ramp sewer shot but it's fun. The game is just so forgiving and fun. The outlanes are not huge and the inlanes get the ball more often than not. Pins that drain the ball put casual gamers off. I think every collection needs a fun and gentle game to help bring people into the hobby. Playing four player games with friends new to pinball is loads of fun. Fun and easy, enough said.

A good starter pinball machine to buy if one is looking to get into owning there own table. The fun factor wares off a little bit as time goes on. Easy to bet the game.

This is a great family game. The audio in this game is amazing, especially if you are a fan of the series. There are some cool features on the playfield, however, it's a pretty simple pinball. An experienced player might get bored pretty fast. This reflects the price of the machine, though, and I think it's a great pickup for less than $1000.
