I did not like this game when I first played it. It took a long time to change my mind. Eventually with the updated code I started enjoying the game and music. I was able to play a table with the UV kit and then I really started to appreciate the game. I also really like the music and callouts. its a great game

Great use of the Stranger Things license. I wish it came with the blacklight "upside down" feature. It does feel right when I play one without the UV kit.
Hitting a hole in one in the demigorgon's mouth is about the most satisfying pinball shot I have ever experienced. The urge to have another shot at it often prevents me from playing the other shots.

I've owned the Strager Things Pro for 2 years now. I always look forward to a new game, even if Stranger Things hasn't been played as much in the last two years as it was at the beginning. But it still fascinates me so much that I don't want to sell it.
For me, the Stranger Things with UV kit and Cleland Code has become a real masterpiece.

This is a great addition to any lineup. Fun to play and I can’t wait to get better at it. Does not get old.

Picked up a pro a few weeks ago and it’s awesome so far. Easy to understand rules but hard to complete (at least so far). Theme is great especially with the optional sound/video package. Artwork on the machine is fantastic especially when the UV kicks in simply amazing. Overall I thinks it’s my favorite game I have owned so far!! I’m an average player at best so I think the game fits my skill level perfectly.

Super fun game. We are average at best at pinball, and this is a game we can really get into. Reminds me a lot of AFM and the like. Learn the rules in 5 minutes, and have a blast. We are also big fans of the show.

There are 7 shots in a fan layout with a bash toy hidden by some drop targets and ramp. Super satisfying to hit the ramp shot and get a hole in one.

This game is great fun though a bit tough to get very far in it the first few times played.

My review is with the UV kit and Cleland code. Both are necessary, but with both those, this game is amazing. I know it got a bad rap when it first came out, but with the updated code, it's sooo good. We are big fans of the theme. If the machine is fine tuned (the gate and demogorgon shot), it plays like a dream. Easy and fun for beginners (hitting the demogorgon is always a blast for new players), yet lots and lots of depth for vets. I bought one for home use and we've been playing it non-stop. We preferred the pro over the premium (not a fan of the projector or TK lock on the premium). If you can get a pro don't hesitate!

Note UV installed, it should of been a factory installed item.

Everyone knows the story with this pin. It came out and was looked over and considered trash because of the rules. Well well well…how updates turn a “turd” into a treasure. STh is now a very sought after title for good reason. Starting with theme. Nailed it! It’s undeniably Stranger Things, and the creepy sounds music and atmosphere pull you right in. You want to accomplish each mode because you feel like you are rescuing those kids, or you are beating up a demodog. It feels like you are right there with them in the junk yard with a baseball bat, and it’s a rush. The modes are standard shots, but have a different feel.
Next the layout. Speaking of different feel, the shots are a standard layout, but so fun to hit when you’re on fire. They can be butter when hitting the ramps, and looping behind the demogorgon is so fun to repeat. The left spinner shot sounds so creepy with that dripping creaking ambient sound effect, that I want to constantly smash it. Again the ramps are so butter no matter how many times you hit them, it just doesn’t get old.
On to the toys. The fold down ramp is awesome and it leads to the big mouth scary Demogorgon!!! The lights on that thing are perfect showing his red mouth opening! You can almost see the slobber dripping in your mind, and you want to send the ball right down his gully! Feels so good to have a multiball going on that mode and make it in his mouth on your first shot/s
Smack that b$&@! In the face!!!!! Haha. Okay I got carried away there. Since I’m reviewing the pro I can’t talk about the other gimmicks from the premium but I hope one day to have that one! Such cool underrated features. What I can talk about is in the next section… which brings me to my perfect playfield art rating! The art is cool enough and really pops. Love the purple and hot pink colors. The real reason the art gets the perfect 10 is the hidden feature The UV kit reveals. The must have on any version is the UV kit. It’s beautiful and revealing the most important part of the Stranger Things world…the upside down! Woah! The hidden art is awesome and looks so cool in the UV. It’s a Must have kit and that mode is a true moment maker!!!
Wrapping up…Back glass art is ok, side art is ok. The Shots are standard but fun. It’s basically Attack From Mars with a Demogorgon! The modes go well with the animations, and there’s plenty of action in this game. The simple layout fools you because the game will kick your butt. Reminds me of Dracula. I can play it over and over, which makes it bolted! Play one today!!!!

Playfield is very simple but has great flow. 5x combo shot is hard to get but very satisfying. Bonuses are key to getting huge points. New players can easily pick up the game and know where to shoot. Premium UV kit or pin stadium UV is a must have for this game. Great theme integration. Bad playfield dimpling and the waves in the playfield are the only major cons for me.

next one, Stranger things : just ended 1 (big) one month loan, and of course i knew this pin before, but my son wanna to really push-it to the end (and he did, beating the WM, while i didnt)... from the overall design, its AFM, from code aspect, its another "Lonnie classic", with no surprise, but than its OK and work well here, with no real big problem (may be some points would be better with a small tweak, but he's the one to decide ! lol)... the theme is well implemanted, and if you like the show, you will like the pin... its another good pinball from Stern from all their last release, but to me not what i would like to own home

This game is a great pin for all skill levels, the rules are simple and straightforward.

The main attraction is the demogorgon which works really well, and when you get a ball to go straight into his mouth it will make your day.

The physical ball lock for telekinesis multiball is absent on the pro but doesn't take any enjoyment out of the game.

When you activate the upside down the playfield pops under the blacklight.

The game also flows extraordinarily well with a ruleset you can pick up as you play the game.

And it would be a crime to not mention how beautiful the game looks, I would put some of the art from this game in a museum if I could

Stranger things will keep you wanting more every single time you pop some quarters in no matter your skill level and definently deserves a higher rating.

not so much to do for a modern game... the demongorgon is really challenging. its a really small gap to hit.. but for a new stern game..

can enjoy myself better with other stern or williams bally games

I've only played the pro version, but it was nothing to brag about. It seemed a little bare to me.

I want to like this game so much, but that damn screen in the middle of the playfield drives me nuts. Then it opens to reveal a Demogorgon or something, great, but we could have really saved some space and put some other lanes, mechanics or something in there. So your options are 2 ramps, a couple of orbits and to open the screen over and over. Not much fun.
Loved the colors. When it flips to the upside down and the colors go crazy, I am loving it.

I played this one at Gamecraft in Southington, CT. It was fun. I had no problems with the machine. The demigorgon shot in the mouth is a real tough shot. The ramp is unpredictable sometimes. I loved the lighting, sound and animation on the screen.

Stanger things has some nice flow, and has a classic 90s feel of the fan layout. The plastic ramps are really fast and flowy, and you can definitely feel the smoothness of the shots. The rules are also nice in that they are easy to understand, just needing to hit a shot 3 times to start a mode, but there is a bit of further depth to be desired. Sounds and art are good. The theme doesn't do anything for me personally, but there is nothing bad about the art and the invisible ink with the blacklight is pretty cool looking in person. The demogorgon is also a fun center shot. The layout has an attack from mars/medieval madness feel, but with a modern mode based ruleset attacked. So if that sounds like fun for you then this is your game!

I love the theme- big let down for me in the gameplay. Lots of air balls hitting the centre targets to get to the demigorgan. Maybe I needed more than three games on it- code might save it but I kept my money to play more GZ.

Good, fast playing game however when compared to a properly sat up Premium or LE I feel that it just doesn't compare. The TK ball lock is a very cool feature of the game when you get it dialed in and the projector really adds a ton to the game all the way around. It looks cool and it shows a lot of helpful information when playing. My rating takes a hit in "Toys and Gimmicks" because of these two features also "Lastability" only because I feel people who fall in love with the Pro will certainly want to upgrade to a Premium or LE.

I guess the "Pro" machine gets a bad rap because of how awesome the added features are on the Premium and LE. I don't think that's fair to this machine. If you judge this machine just based on itself, it is an incredible experience. The only knock I have on it is that if you hadn't seen the show, playing this game would make you think it was a horror show rather than the action/psychological thriller/mystery show that it actually is. The backglass is definitely not the prettiest, but the cabinet art is great. Shot flow is excellent; all shots are makeable but are the right amount of challenging. This is easily my favorite of the newer Stern pins, and one of my favorites of all time. It’s one of those classic experiences, like Sopranos or Demolition Man, where the better you play, the farther you get into the game, the more exciting and rewarding the game becomes. I’ve had the GC on my location machine for months but keep coming back because I want to beat the game. Wizard modes are awesome. I just can’t wait to see what happens at the end of snowball…

Found the game to be somewhat boring. The call outs lack excitement. Game flows well and the shots are smooth, but it wasn't enough to really get my attention or keep me playing. I won't be buying this one personally.
