Had a Rush pro and it took a little while to dial it in and get used to it but once I did, I absolutely loved it. So much so that I sold the pro and upgraded to a premium. It’s now a keeper game for me for sure. I love the theme, music, lighting and gameplay. The only real criticism is of course the crappy scoop protector Stern shipped them with, however, they are addressing that at least. Personally I ordered the ninja scoop protector and will be using that one. Game is great and a lot of fun to play, but should not be judged on less than about 15 plays.

Excellent game all around. Borg killed it on this one!!!!
Artwork, game flow and shots are top notch. Has absolutely everything you'd want in a pin. Not a huge fan of RUSH, but it's a perfect fit - and now I've got about 4 of their songs stuck in my head...They're growing on me thanks to this machine. This one will go down as a classic as more and more people get a chance to check it out!

First impressions (after about 200 games): Damn this is such a fine game! I’ve always been a big John Borg fan, but this layout has rocketed to #1 in my Borg collection (MET, AS, TWD, Rush). Music is better than any rock pin Stern has ever made (I may be biased). The FLOW, my god it’s so good. It has me looking side-eye at Aerosmith, which I still love. Seems like the right ramp and the shot through the pops are just a bit easier on Rush? And I can reliably hold up the upper flipper to make the upper scoop, so satisfying. There’s not a single shot on this game that makes me mad.

Layout: see above. Borg and his stellar mechanical crew knocked it out of the park! The dual scoop design with the staged subway is awesome. What’s really cool is the way his team borrowed the best features from older pins (LOTR and WPT) and made them so much better. “Ace in the hole” lock is way better down close to the player, and it takes skill to hit it. The Time Machine ramp is an homage to LOTR but does it so much better (full disclosure: I sold my LOTR to buy Rush).

Audio: I’ll admit that when I played this at my friend’s house, I was a little skeptical about the callouts (I was still trying to talk myself out of buying one). But now I freakin’ LOVE the callouts. It’s pure Rush, Alex and Geddy did an amazing job and made this game FUN, not serious. The song choices are perfect, we can always think of a few that are missing, but I love all the selections. Really well done.

Art: This is where Stern truly went to 11. The foil cabinet art and mirrored backglass are breathtaking in person. I love my Premium, but I WILL own an LE some day. Playfield is fine, and when you’re really getting into a game it’s very clear what to shoot next.

Rules: Right now, April 2022, the rules are nearly perfect. I’d be happy if this game’s only update from now was the wizard modes (which I know I’m months away from earning anyway).

Light show: Absolute perfection. Mike Vinikour did an amazing job with the expression lighting. And I love the gradual loss of GI on “Fly By Night”, such great attention to detail! You guys rock!!

What can be said about an under appreciated band with an under appreciated pinball machine. The layout of Rush is a best of Borg with everything he’s learned or tweaked over the years. Throw in the LOTR time machine and sheer amount of assets through involvement with the band and we have a hit. What the Stern team has done early on with rules/code is a clear homage to Rush, fans, and skilled players alike and it really shows. The playfield art is decent - not great, but the mirrored backglass and reflective cabinet artwork of the LE is one of the best Stern has produced. The expression lighting is also well integrated, showcasing each track at this early stage.
A very good machine that may soon be great.

First ten games I found I was disappointed. Now a week later, I’m loving the game. There needs to be code improvements for sure. Though the game comes together quite well.

Update after some code updates this game is an A. Should be a top 20.

I owned an LE for a month now and wanted to wait and review because, I’m a huge Rush fan and didn’t want that to sway me.
I have to start by saying I sold both my other machines
Before this came out and had no plans to buying another machine for awhile. As much as I always hoped for a Rush theme , I didn’t think it would come.
We’ll it turns out it did and I missed the rumors and actually the news about the release.
Once I found out , I slowly got sucked back in.
I thought for sure I had no chance at an LE but, I put my name on List anyway.
During this time . I was still on the fence.
So I found a place that had a pro model I could play and I was sold. I made sure I played at least 25x
That week to make sure.

Ok, so I luck out getting an LE and it’s absolutely beautiful!
When I first received I still felt a little disconnect between Rush music and the machine itself.
I wasn’t 100% yet but, that changed quickly with the quick release of a couple code updates.
Big difference and I’m loving this game now!
The lights are incredible especially the expression lights that move to the music.
The video screen is done very well.
The callouts are very fun from Alex and Geddy.
You’ll appreciate it more if you’re a Rush fan.
The game is very fast. A lot of great shots
I’m not usually a fan of upper playfield side flippers but,
I love this one and the shots you use it for are Fun.
The time machine shot and the 2 ramp shots are my favorite !
The ball lock behind the drop target is also a fun challenging shot.
Game has great flow and I like the fact that every shot is not very hard to make.
I’m just really enjoying this game and I know it’s going to get even better because the code still has a lot more to go.
The mirror back glass on the LE is one of the best I’ve seen.
The armor with guitars is a great touch
And the foil decals look awesome.
Stern has made a very impressive machine.
I’m very happy with it.
Looking forward to future updates and the topper.
Buy one you won’t regret it.
To add , people are making some great Rush mods for this machine!

Update 2/24/22 ….
Now on Verizon .93 update and installed the new stern scoop switch. All I can say is, if you don’t like this game it’s because you absolutely hate Rush.
The updates are so good and this game is so much fun .

It seems to be just getting better and better for Stern. JB did an awesome job. Lots of fun for below average players as well as seasoned veterans. Band callouts add a special touch. My only knock is variation. And this could be said for all the music pins.
There's many songs that I think should have been added. Closer to the Heart being one of them. Understood that might not give the Rush of adrenaline like other songs picked. No pun intended.

Have had my Rush LE for a few weeks. Very fun game and a nice change of pace. Challenging but not super hard to hit all the shots. The rules are a little complicated, but the game is very fun to play. If you are a Rush fan, you will love this game. The family is really enjoying it, I would definitely recommend, one of Borgs best, can’t wait to see how it improves with code updates. I am very happy with the game so far, will definitely be staying in my collection for a while.

The band callouts are outstanding. The rules are deeper than I expected. Combos are very satisfying and always give you an objective. Very addictive. Borg layout is very good. Reminds me of Tron. The full playfield protector is a must have IMO.

I have owned this game for about a month now, so I think I can finally write a fair review. Overall, this is a fantastic looking and playing machine! I wasn’t thrilled with the playfield artwork when I first saw it, and most people who see the game for the first time comment on the ‘cartoon faces’ front and center. I think I’ve become accustomed to it now, mostly because there’s so much going on under the glass that your eye wanders to all the shots and mesmerizing EL show! The scoop issue is disappointing, but hopefully there will be an acceptable fix/mod soon. The rule set is a bit overwhelming at first, especially because the game is so FAST, but once you start to understand what to do, it becomes totally immersive. And the code keeps getting better and better (.91 as of yesterday). The video assets are amazing, so much so that I find myself draining because I got sucked into some cool concert footage! This game is a players game for sure, all things considered. I see how casual players who give it a quick flip might not be impressed (no monsters to bash, space ships to blow up or castles the crumble), but if you take the time to become acquainted with the strategy, the long term game play becomes addicting as you strive to progress further and further through the code. This is a Borg/Sexton/RayDay home run!

Fast, fast fast! This is an incredibly fast game. Art work is so so but that being said it sits next to my guns an roses which out classes everything when it comes to art and lights. It is a lot of fun and a keeper but the wire forms seem like they are thinner than the the rest of my games. Call outs are just ok. Rules are not that deep as of now. I m going to TPF and I hope I get some more knowledge about game play at the festival.

The build was ok. I had to screw in the bottom posts because the whole assembly moved when the ball hit them straight out of the box. Not a big deal though….. we all have staff issues with Covid bullshit …. So 2020 lol

It plays songs throughout the game which is nice. Sound is better balanced tone wise than gnr ( pin woofer system is on the way to fix that).

My Biggest grip is the artwork. It is the only reason this rating is not in the 9s. But the balanced tone of the music makes up for that. Shots are satisfying and the ramp diverter at top mixes things up.

It seems that the game is mostly about combos. You have to get some games under your belt to do well. You hit a loop on the left and then you have to reflexively hit the right flipper or you will drain which is very cool. Stern did a nice job on this one. The game play and music work well together but you don’t have the same satisfaction as playing a song all the way through as you do with gnr. Rush is readily available vs waiting over a year an 4 months for gnr.

If you enjoy rush then this is a great game but if you don’t then it is a solid fast game that will make you a better pinball player over all.

Overall I am happy with the purchase.

I’m very happy w both but for different reasons. Stern is light on toys for the money but that’s why they have mods…

Forgot to mention … concert vids span many years in Rush which is very cool.

(if there were rule changes i would have a ball stuck in the time machine and have to shoot it out for a 2 ball combo or to start a song with 2 balls going.)

I’ll revisit this after tpf in a week or so. And also proof my spellings an syntax then

An amazing pin!!!! The layout and shots are satisfying!! The code for being young is already really great. The lights along with the expression lighting take it to another level. It's really a fun pin to play. My favorite are the reviews that gave it a 5-6 having only played it a few times. There just here to try and drag a great pin since it wasn't their dream theme. Get over it and find a theme ya like or create your own theme. Ignore the haters on this pin and have fun.

This game has just about everything that is mechanically fun about pinball...a magnet, spinner, drop targets, diverter, captive ball, scoops, ball lock and a third flipper with satisfying shots. The shots are smooth and fast. I dislike the term "buttery" but it does apply here. In fact, after dialing Rush in, this is the smoothest machine that I've ever played. The rules are fun and there are lots of unique modes and multi-balls. My only ding would be the sound quality of the music, which should be better on such a pricey machine. However, the great rockin' song selection, live video quality, band call-outs, foil cabinet art, stellar light show and mirrored backglass put this machine in class of it's own.

An average rock band machine. I like Rush’s music quite a bit so I was really hoping for an awesome game. Fun but didn’t give that I can’t wait to play again feeling. Maybe the code will improve. I haven’t played a pro or premium so I can’t compare trim levels. I might revisit after playing more of this or those.

Prefer X-men over Rush since they’re almost identical layouts and X-men is quite a bit less. Good-solid machine for Rush fans but nothing earth shattering

Great looking game and awesome music. Not a big fan of the design and rules. I was so hyped and now disappointed. Not Sterns best effort.

Admittedly not a big fan of the theme but I don't dislike it either, it's just another pinball machine for me. That being said it has a great layout, awesome shots, good mechs with the diverter, the time machine magnet, and the Deadpoolesque 3 drop target captive ball mech. Ramps are smooth but the aren't anything special. Another great stern in a recent run of great Sterns but for me it just doesn't quite match some of the other recent outings in terms of fun factor or innovation. It feels like they have just taken some of the mechs people liked in other games and just jammed a few of them into this game but I am not mad at it or disappointed just missing the mark for me in terms of fun factor.

Very good game . Not very familiar with rush the band. But getting to like Them too . I also like the steampunk look of this machine.

I played this pinball machine on launch tournament day.
Pros: upper flipper shots are addictive, music, lights, time machine shot.
Cons: too many scoops in middle of the playfield which slows down ball, needs more callouts to instruct what to shoot for. Many complaints about scoop damage.

EDIT EDIT: It keeps getting better.
EDIT: The Honeymoon is over….but this game gets 99% of the play. It is just amazing, but it can also be brutal.

Maybe I am in the honeymoon phase, but so far I am loving this game. Yes I am a huge Rush fan, but either way this game is a lot of fun.
It definitely helps to understand the rules. Like their music..the game is intense! One example; Get a Record Mode started, Get one or two combo Albums completed and ready to cash in..cash them in at the Time Machine then get the Super Combo Jackpot left ramp...when the ball comes around the loop shot the left scoop and start Far Cry Multiball....with the Drum Instrument collected in Far Cry get a bunch of balls in the pops and watch the Clock advance the Headlong Flight Multiball..then activate that with the right loop....with the stacked multi balls get to One Little Victory Laps.....WHAT A RUSH!!!!
There are a lot of great shots. There is good flow and combos. The instrument/drop targets with the captive ball and the extremely fun left side pops integrated with the Drum sounds and clock advance provide for a lot fun around the entire playfield. The two main ramps; The left/side ramp and he long right Rush ramps are some of the best I have played. The ramp diverter adds to the change in flow/uniqueness, yet it can slow down the flow a bit from the right ramp.
The theme integration is great. The light show is top notch.
My biggest issue is the inner loop not registering on a regular basis as the ball flies around the turns, but I figure a new switch or wire adjustment can help here.
