I am not a fan of the TV show 24 but like the theme that they were trying to accomplish with this game. That said, they fell way short. The play field is super wide open and their are a bunch of crappy shots. The side art is terrible and I hate the picture of Jack Bauer starring at me. This is a poorly executed game. Don't waste your time.

Bleh. Since the only time I've played this game was in tournament, I can't honestly rate the gameplay, but I can say that the voice acting is awful and the artwork is lacking.

People will call me crazy but I LOVE the show and I LOVE the pinball machine!
I think it has the Steve Richie feel. It has a great flow, really cool toys and I can make visible real locks on a ramp in a opening and closing suitcase. There is a house that explodes with nice lighting effects. I think the modes are well done the shots feel good and I love the sound fx and the music even if it is not the real TV show theme.
For me an underrated game. I'd even buy a Vault edition rerun of this game!

Love this pin. Fun, rare, toys and a lot to aim for. Great multiball.

I've never seen the show and maybe that's the problem. The theme did nothing for me. I didn't care for the playfield layout. The speed and flow were not great. I really can't say anything positive about his pin.

This machine is one that grows on you. I'm a fan of the TV series, so this was right up my alley. There really is quite a bit to this game once you dig in to it; the multiball objectives are not for the faint of heart. Sniper shot is brutal; but you can learn to backhand it pretty regularly off the right flipper with practice and patience. Owned for 2 years or so and still enjoy playing it. The Master Agent mode keeps me coming back - it's very very difficult to achieve but I'm happy to chase after it for the challenge. You can build up some nice flow on this, it's a shame there are no combo rewards for excellent shooting. The Chloe voice that some people dislike is true to the TV show; so don't expect her to be over the top like Raul Julia as Gomez Addams.

I am a huge 24 fan so when I saw this machine I was instantly drawn to it. The game play seemed really good to me, and I know some people don't like Chloe doing the voices but I thought it was perfect and really brought the machine to life reminding me of the show. The Sniper is a tough shot but not bad enough to not make it fun. Love the suitcase multiball and the terrorist popups.

24 doesn't get a lot of love, but maybe that's because people haven't seen it often enough, or played enough to really enjoy it and get a decent feel. I really like the game and think its in my top 5 stern games.

24 is the worst game Steve Ritchie has his name associated with. I will say in his defense that things were so strained between him and Stern at the time that he left GaryCo. because of it and didn't come back until he started working on AC/DC. Righteous Steve Ritchie!

The Pros:
Multiball stackability is a must. The sniper shot requires... sniper pin-skills. The shots to the safehouse are all long and tight.

The Cons:
The rules feel unfinished. The construction and play of the game feels cheap. PhotoCrop artwork is another rush job for K.O'C. MEGA INSERT (tm) playfield is open AND boring... ugh, the pain... feel it! Worst TV license after CSI and Charlie's Angels, goin' for the bronze!

The Takeaway:
I know of a few players who really like this table. I just walk away after a few games in frustration. If I wanted to play middle ramp all day long, I'd play a Data East deck.

Update 8/9/13:
Played this game at a collector's home. Now I like long shots on a table (I own a WPT fer' Kherrissakes!) and this table definitely has shots that require accuracy. I think that the in-PF drop targets that block your shots when you are playing for the center of the PF are great. The more I play it though... the more this game just feels... incomplete and unfinished. There is so much more to be creatively implemented with the game's goals. The more I play this game the more the rules suffer from the PotC shoot every shot 87x times to get to the wiz mode. Playing pinball should be fun, not a chore. I am willing to session this deck out with a player who knows this table better than I do. But for me, right now (other than stacking multiball modes)... this game is a bore.

A full 6 pinside pinballs on the "poot" rating!

Update:
After sessioning out this deck with a player who showed me what was what, I like this game better than I did before. The problem with this game is, someone who knows what this game is about needs to show you what this game does, or you need to put some serious mileage into it. Because the game doesn't tell you diddly. And if it does, it is either blatantly obvious, or it's blinking at you with it's inserts in morse code.

So the good news is, I like the game better as far as the layout is concerned. I have always been a fan of drops and the ones in the middle of the PF are way sweet. Long, powerful and accurate shots mean are all over this table and the standups on the side mean that once the ball starts to bounce side to side, you are in trouble! Save the President is a solid build and collect secondary wiz mode.

The bad news is that my major issues with the game are still here. Even a notable positive is a negative. The M-O-L-E shot multiplier awards your shot multiplier RANDOMLY. If' I'm gonna focus on a shot multiplier, I'd like to skillfully shoot for an orbit/ramp by choice. (notably Spiderman, but Spidey was made BEFORE 24!!!) in the future. The art pax is Photoslop, sounds are repetitive and annoying and playing the game is a f'n CHORE! Chop more wood... chop more wood... chop more wood and even worse... when you get to Master Agent, at least when I saw it, the mode was uninspired and I couldn't wait for the ball saver to end so that I could get away from the anti-climatctic ending. Maybe if someone could really rock it out I'd have something better to say about it, but all I could think of is: "This game is f'n tedious!" Scores raised ever so slightly to reflect my newfound appreciation for this skillfully laid out, yet yawner of a game. Rules... it comes down to the rules... Lyman F. Sheats Jr., Lonnie D. Ropp, Dwight Sullivan... what have you done? This game must be the reason why SR left Stern when he did. 2009 should go down as the worst year for pinball in recent memory.

From a pure gameplay standpoint, it's not that bad. Open playfield with some fun, rewarding shots. Multiballs play well but the rules are pretty simple and there wasn't anything that really caught my attention. It's just not a machine that I could see myself playing much. Which is odd since this machine seems to draw a ton of attention when I've seen it out in the public.

Perhaps what kills it for me is the theme. I'm not someone who cares for the super serious themes in pinball. But aside from that, I think the backglass and cabinet are ugly. They look like something I would throw together in photoshop in 10 minutes. The playfield isn't bad, although the colors they use are off-putting. It has a lot of toys and they are incredibly unique, but they also look really cheap. It's sad because a few more dollars into those playfield parts would have increased the aesthetics dramatically.

Overall it's worth a play if you're into the series, but outside of that it really has nothing special going for it.

Another great use of a license by Stern. The sniper shot -- which is also the extra-ball shot -- is nearly impossible to make, which hurts the flow of the game.

This game is ok. I love the 24 theme however I could see this game becoming old if played very often. The playfield is nice and open and does have a good flow.

This game is so under rated. Maybe because the rules were so bad when it first came out. Lyman finished it 2 years later. The shots are all satisfying. A few are very tight. You get great Steve Ritchie flow, constant hurry ups that fit the theme well, tons of multiball. The only bummer is the artwork.

Steve Ritchie + Lyman Sheats. How can you go wrong?

If you love 24 then this game will hook you probably. Some fun shots and multi-balls. A game to enjoy but not one to own.

I never watched the series so I wasn't swayed by that. I just didn't find this game fun at all. It's missing that "it" factor that makes me want to play again and again. I thought the playfield and rule set were unimaginative. I had hoped this game would be better but it's just not.

It is a fun game if you know what to do. I love the shots, it is cool to make the sniper shot with a back hand. You could stack everything with everything. But the software is NOT complete and the toys look very cheap. The main goal of the game is to build an atom bomb...hello? There are so many modes but the only thing to do is to aim for the white arrows. The colors of the inserts are complete incoherent to the rules....this game could have been so much better.....

Enjoyed playing it more than I expected. Sound effects when ball bouncing around by pop bumpers is great. I never watched the show on tv.

Definitely has more toys than I expected, and what is there, I think is cool. But the layout is just a fan with really long shots far from the flippers leading to long ball times. The voice calls are borderline terrible, and the "art" pretty much speaks for itself. The production value on this Stern is still pretty good, but the overall gameplay lets it down. It shoots well, but isn’t memorable in any way.

Out of all the Stern games, I had hoped 2 pins would be amazing... Indiana Jones was the first and this was the second.

Unfortunately it was a huge disappointment for me. I had some very high hopes for the gameplay and although it was a decent attempt, it fell very short of my expectations. Perhaps being a fan of the series I expected too much...

It did not deliver on many fronts. The rules seemed too linear. There were few to no surprises. The gameplay lacked a flow that I was accustomed to. The sounds left a lot to be desired. The playfield artwork was just okay. The toys were very flaky and cheap. A lot of corners seemed to be cut to reduce costs in production. Or perhaps was it just designed on the cheap? I played this for about 2 hours, of which I had to physically restrain myself from just leaving it. I kept thinking perhaps it will get better as I play on...

I suspect this pin will drop in value the most out of all of the new STERNS. Perhaps I will one day pick this one up at a bargain price just to have a healthy reminder of poor execution on an excellent theme.

Designers will be the first to say that you dont always "hit the mark"... this is prime example. Shame. Try it, but you probably won't be all that impressed.

I haven't played this a lot but the more I play this one the more I like it, which is just as well as I wasn't impressed on first play.
The flow, game rules and timed elements are what make it fun and the light shows are superb. It is just a shame that Chloe sounds so bored. I would certainly buy one if it came up at the right price as I would like to play it more.

I like all of the shots on this game, they are far and tight. Very challenging. The hurry-ups add to the 'every second counts' theme of 24. The 2 wizard modes are difficult to get to and rewarding.
The bad side of the game is the art package, it's just blah, slightly above average. The jackpot calls could use some work as well.

The toys are well implemented into the theme. The suitcase lock (an actual physical lock) is cool and the safe house explosion is also satisfying.

I think 24 is underrated. The open playfield has a cool, unique layout, and there are some very challenging shots (particularly from the left flipper). You can actually get some decent flow going if you know what you are doing. I also like the toys. The briefcase is particularly well done. The ruleset could be deeper, but overall it's a pretty fun game, especially if you're a fan of the show.

I love the show but the pin lacks in areas. Open playfield can be slow at times.
