Lastability is definitely there. There's a lot going on with this pinball. Enjoyed playing it a lot.

Stargate is a pin that I have wanted for a while, but the price was always just a little more than I wanted to pay for a Stargate. Well I recently found a Stargate within my price point and I'm very happy with the purchase.

I really enjoy this game, it's a simple ruleset and you will likely make it to the wizard mode with relative ease. There are a large amount of Multi-balls, which could be a bad thing. I'm looking at you JJP GNR. The number of Multi-balls in Stargate doesn't see overwhelming, because they don't last very long as the balls quickly escort themselves to the outlanes or SDTM. There isn't a ball save associated with the Multi-Balls, so when the balls leave they are gone, which is a positive because if there was a long ball save the amount of Multi-balls would feel overwhelming and become an annoyance.

The ramps are steep, but if your flippers are properly maintained they are very make able. The shots work on this pin and combos are very fun, especially the 5 way combo. This pin also has kicker targets, which add some chaos to the game.

The glider mech on this pin is great when it appears as it moves side to side and forward and really looks well executed.

You will see a lot of people bothered by the call outs, but they don't really bother me. I actually chuckle when I hear Shoot the Pyramid over and over, as I'm thinking of all the people irritated by it.

Also this pin just works, Gottlieb System 3's seem to hold up to their trouble free reputation.

If you have a chance to purchase a Stargate, don't hesitate. This is a fun pin that deserves the love it gets.

Fun game with glider that comes out of a pyramid. The shoot the pyramid call-out can get a bit tiring. This is a quality game by Gottlieb with sound and artwork that is very similar to the movie.

Only played one game... but I'm looking into buying it... that should tell you how I feel. <ore to come! But I think the overall rating is fair @7.7

I made arrangements to pick this game up and in the meantime I watched the movie again. I'm glad I did because it gave me the references for a lot of what goes on in the game. That said, even if I hadn't watched the movie, this game is a ton of fun and always entertaining. You never seem to run out of things to shoot for.

Had this pin without any mods, really enjoyed playing it. Never broke through and kept coming back for more. Think it would be really good with a color DMD, but none was available when I owned it. Seemed really solid though I played it pretty hard while I owned it. Rules were a little obtuse, but it was a lot a fun to play. A good buy as a lot of later Gottlieb games are. Call outs are repetitive but didn't ruin the game. Would own this again on a deal.

Excellent machine! Usually set up too easy but the best Gottlieb System 3 by a mile. Great theme, layout, and art. It is just as clunky as the other Gottlieb's in this era, but I find this game to be much more enjoyable. Code is also really good.

Under rated, lot of fun. The call out shoot the pyramide is too much repetive. Great theme and toys . Best gottlied and will stay in my collection. Good pin for the price and as a lot of shoot combination for is 1998.

Hands down the best Gottlieb ever made. My game has B.Williams flippers swapped in and man they make an enormous difference. Balls rocket up the steep ramps with ease. I also added pinstadium lighting and it's also a massive improvement. It is bolted to the floor in my collection. Game is absolutely fantastic!

This game has its own currency system and I think that's pretty neat

Fun game, they packed a lot into this one, considering the year it was made.

Stargate is a beautiful game with still one of the most gorgeous back glasses I’ve ever seen. I truly miss this pin and it’s definitely Gottliebs best. If you LED it and add the light ring mod from Cobra Amusements…you’ve got a winner! I also added some lights to the eyes of my guards, Anubis and Horus. The game itself is a super satisfying shooter. Love the 5 way combo!!!! So satisfying! The ramps are so fun and steep. Do a flipper rebuild using the official gottlieb parts from pb resource and you don’t have to put in stronger coils. I honestly loved and miss this title, but the callouts were really repetitive. If ya know ya know. I always held the flipper buttons before launching to make sure I didn’t get the pyramid call out too often. It helps. I will own this one again one day.

A solid game that has lot of neat features with the use of the guardians blocking and opening up throughout the game, and the central pyramid gimmick is again so simple yet so important. Quite a good bit of gameplay but also not overly complex. Biggest issue with the game is the terrible audio. The music is weak, lacks any of the actual movie themes, the callouts are of poor quality and repetitive. The sounds that randomly play and for hitting targets is just super generic video game noises. Compared to some of the other titles with great sound packages Gottleib was doing at the time, this dropped the ball in that sound department in an otherwise solid game

Played several times at the newly-opened Medway Pinball Club.

Got to say, I really enjoyed Stargate. It is a very good pin with excellent toys, especially if you’re a fan of the film. I liked the DMD animations from the film, shooting the pyramid “Shoot the Pyramid”, Glider multiball and the modes.

Very quirky graphic design that reminds me strongly of, yep, the film!

I really enjoy Stargate. I picked up a rough re-import and restored the playfield (installed a restored sample playfield) and some other parts of the machine but I was able to look at the build quality...it is a built extremely well, very solid. The side art has held up extremely well, all I had to do was wash and wax it. Game play is very enjoyable, the Horace and Anubus shots/toys are cool...lots of drops to hit. I think there are a tad too many multi-balls...maybe reduce it to glider-craft multi-ball only. The sound is ok but like many have mentioned, "Shoot the Pyramid" gets really annoying...it would be nice to have a new set of sounds ROMS...maybe there are, I just don't know of any.

Still arguably the best deal in pinball, even with pinflation sending prices through the roof. Easily the best DMD game you can buy on a budget. Great art package, great toys, deep rule set and loads of modes. You can turn the callouts off at the start of every ball, but I wish there was a setting that turned them off permanently. If this had "Williams" splashed all over it this would be in the top 50 easy.

So Stargate is an unusual pinball. First, the theme is a Love or Hate theme. I like Stargate and this pinball actually got me to watch SG1. The game itself is very very fun. It's challenging to make all the chapters and high points are reserved for better players. The playfield toys are some of the best of the era and are superb when running. The game lasts pretty well in a large collection too. Build quality was very high in my experience and this was the swan song of Gottlieb. If the parts were better accessable I would keep it forever. Parts are hard to source though. It rarely breaks, but like German cars, it's expensive to fix. Overall, I really like this game and could play it over and over. I highly recommend it. The Death Glider is my favorite aspect, and the left orbit is hard to get consistent.

I love this game. The rule set is very deep. This is the best Gottlieb that I've ever played and is very innovative. With exception of the low quality of the sound (mono and not recorded so clear), the game is truly great. I shopped mine out with Cointaker's LED kit, a kinter small amp, and a cheap shaker and it's perfect. I get bored with most pinballs, even the classics, but not this machine due to the depth, so had to buy it. Amazing backglass.

I purchased this machine about 2 months ago (my first purchase) and I have really enjoyed this game. A novice can have fun playing but once you understand the ruleset it is also a lot of fun to play on a continuing basis and as you figure out what shots are required when it is always fun to play. The shots are pretty precise so not easy to hit them when you need them, but not so hard that you can't hit them. The modes are all pretty fun (except saving Sari) and multi-ball is fast paced and challenging. I play it at least once a day and don't see myself getting tired of playing it or getting rid of it.

Yep! i finally got a Stargate. Every time i found one in the wild, the lighting was so bad, i never could get the feel off the game. Also in the wild i never could hear the music, sound or call outs. It'a a winner Stargate is all about multiball i like that. Its different than any pinball machine I have played. Every shot or plunge is a multiball. You have to think fast. very fun. Toys are great. If you do not want a multiball every plunge, stargate is not for you. I love the movie also. Theme is everything to my buying a game.

Interesting playfield with good rules, interesting shots and gimmicks, nice ramps, and fun gameplay. Enjoyable - recommend searching one out and giving it a try

It should have been called Stargate: Multiball. I only put a hand full of games on it and seemed like I was in multiball more than I wasn't. Not complaining, but definitely on the easy(iest) side of "achieving" multiball.

The pyramid is cool. The ramps are steep. The one I played (on site) couldn't get up the left ramp hardly ever and the right ramp only a little bit more often. Fun to play though for sure. Shots are fun. It's a cool looking game and one that I went to right away to try out. It's fun, but.... not sure how long it would last. Then again, I went back and played it a couple of times again before I left. Definitely give it a try.

Gottlieb gets a lot of flack for their DMD games, but this one has lasting power. Playfield is packed with things to shoot for. Music can get a little monotonous, but it sets the mood. Definitely a strong candidate for LED's with how dark the playfield is. Pretty easy to get multiball on which is fun for casual players. Mine didn't last long when we found it "fully shopped out" meant not touched at all and needed a TON of work. Returned it but miss it. It really is a fun game that tells you what to do, so be ready for lots of, "SHOOT FOR ________!" over and over again.
