I have played this machine many times in various locations, most locations do not maintain this pin which leads me to believe that this pin may have some reliability issues. The locations that do maintain their pinball machines I have chosen to not play more than a game and not waste time that I could be playing better machines. My biggest gripe is that it's very difficult to see the playfield since the projection hides the ramps. The gameplay is very simple, and gets boring quick. Due to these issues I usually go to a different pin but since I have been playing it much more lately just to give a more detailed review I think with better implementation the designers could have had something more memorable.

I really, really wanted to like this game. The reviews on this are true though: it's just not fun. Jar Jar really does blow it in many ways. Additionally, unlike RFM, it's very tough to see things on the PF. I just didn't like the integration of P2000 on this one. RFM is WAAAAAAYYYY better IMO. If I owned this one, I'd get bored very fast.

Just didn't like this at all. I did play in on a pretty poorly maintained machine but pinball 2000 is not for me. Awkward feeling shots, especially having to go up the middle and such a gap between the flippers. Was a novelty at best.

I didn't like the sound on the game due to the fast that Jar Jar spoke a lot and was sort of annoying but the theme on the game was pretty descent the light saber fight was pretty good it was around the time when Williams just couldn't hang on but I belive John Popadiuk did a good design overall on this game I would still continue to play it

I love star wars so I like the theme but the gameplay is way to repetitive for me. Challenges all are based on the same few shots and are center based shots at all times. I do like the animations and the jedi battles are fast and fun. a good game but not one I'd own

sure play it at someone else's house or on location a couple times to see what it's all about but in about 1 or 2 games it'll be time to move on. it's one of those one shot wonder pins only a owner could ever claim to love zzzzzzzz

So, I just got the conversion kit, installed it into my RFM, and have played about 20 games.

So, it's rather apparent from the start that this isn't RFM. RFM is a far superior game, but that doesn't make SWEP1 a bad game. I think the fact that RFM is so good, makes people a bit too harsh on the only other Pin2K table. RFM is one that will last forever, but I can see SWEP1 taking up the room in my cab a few months a year.

Good Stuff:
The table lighting is really nice. Jpop neon!
I like the way the action buttons have been implemented for the lasers and torpedoes during the modes.
The sound is great.
It's nice to have a real skill shot.
The playfield magnet is a nice touch.
I like the 'plunge your own' multi-ball during the Jedi battle.

The good stuff that isn't quite as good (you can call it bad if you want:
Huge center target that is hard to miss.
Very few shots available.
Virtual spinners only spin at one speed, regardless of how hard they're hit.
Several shots (R2D2 lane and both saucers) are really only possible to hit via random luck.
No ball save on multi-ball.
No outer orbit.
Some of the modes are kind of silly (Jar Jar Juggle, Jedi musical chairs), in an otherwise non-silly game.

All in all, I'm glad I got this. I'm having a blast. ;)

I bought one of these when they came out. I sold it within a month. It was not a real fun pin to play. The monitor animations didn't keep the illusion that there were animated characters on the playfield, it was more like you were watching a movie while playing pinball. I don't think the designers "got" Pinball 2000 like the RFM team did. It's a shame it's the last Williams game.

Cool game, but the CRT monitor unfortunately makes it one that I could never invest in for my home.

Pretty straight forward....Spell JEDI as many times as you can. Have to be careful when hitting the shield too hard off off-center, as I feel it will go sdtm if your not careful. Game is fun and later JEDI stages can be challenging. The mini-games are this games true strength, and there are isn't another pin on the planet that has so many features/mini-games aside from it's sister, Revenge From Mars.

a little confusing if you are not use to the heads up display in the glass , makes for blind shots into no where.

This game has almost everything going for it, except for what matters the most. The Game play, play-field layout, last ability, and fun factor just isn't there, at least for me. The art, music, and most of the sounds (except for the ones with Jar-Jar), are actually pretty good though.

Star Wars Episode 1 is a prime example of a simple playfield that could have been made better with a more comprehensive ruleset.

The Pros:
The game looks and sounds great. The animations and theme with the modes is exceptionally well done. Darth O'Conner did a great job with the team on BG, PF and the cabinet on this one. The execution of the theme and the Pin2k tech is a testament to what creative people can do. Considering that the entire platform was in development when this game was made, makes this title even more impressive. Ambitious would be the best single word to describe this deck.

The Cons:
The PF has so little to do on it other than shoot the center bank. Rules are an after thought. Most modes are bash the same shots that you hit to start the modes. Mini- wizard modes are gimmes. The best shots on the table are the spinner/ramps shots... BUT WITHOUT REAL SPINNERS! Soooo, you get to shoot the spinners and bash the center target (which is in the dead center of the PF and it's nearly half the width of the game) over and over and over... zzz. The skill shot takes... nominal skill to hit. Multiball happens more by chance than skill from the saucer locks.

The Takeaway:
A great game for Star Wars fans and the kiddies who think Jar-Jar is way cool. Not so great for the pinball players. If you are going pin 2k. Get an RFM. It's a damn shame that this was the last game ever produced by Bally/ Williams/ Midway. The gameplay on this deck blows... donkeys. There was so much that could have been done with this game and title and it just feels like this game was slapped together by the marketing team, not a pinball designer. Ranks just slightly ahead of Champion Pub in my book. If you want to play pinball, play pinball. If you want to watch a star wars movie, watch a star wars movie. This deck is a compromise on both aspects of this game and like most compromises in design... lacks the strength of either aspect of the original parts. JPop's worst game.

Its a great game. Always fun to watch 3d image on the play field.

A game that could have been much better. It's a shame PK2 failed as early as it did and unlike RFM, this game seems very rush and incomplete. I will admit, I am not a Star Wars fan and I hate Star Trek even more but where STTNG makes me want like Star Trek, this does nothing for me.

Lacking in a lot of areas the one thing that I will say is awesome about this game is the virtual spinners. Very Cool!

Star Wars fanboys tend to hate Ep1 the most, and maybe Williams wanted fanboys to hate their pin version as well.

What was Williams thinking on this garbage? Owned the conversion kit, even my kids hated it, couldn't convert back to RFM fast enough!!!! :(

It is Williams last game. SWE1 doesn't get the respect it should. It is Star Wars, and it is Pinball 2000! I am giving this game close to being the in middle on points, with the exception of the sound and animation. Very very cool. Game play is ok. It is simple enough that the wife and kids love to play it, which is wonderful to me.

not as good as RfM, but anyways an excellent pinball. There is just too much repeating of the Jedi battle (but its challenging and fun), and too little gimmicks on the playfield (except from the great 3D Screen). On the other side, some modes are really fun. Music is great. If you are a fan of the new series, this is a must have anyways.

Heartbreakingly disappointing, just like the movie it was based on. Biggest theme of all time, but the game feels unfinished, almost amateurish and simple. Revenge from Mars is a much better example of Pinball 2000.

More of a novelty type pinball machine to me. Seems like the designers were targeting a younger crowd. Video clips are done well and are interesting for the first few games, but eventually just become something that breaks up the game flow. Cabinet artwork pretty good, as is playfield artwork. Backglass artwork not as good. Upper playfield hard to see. Seems like not a lot of different things to shoot at w/ this open playfield. At least it has ramps & multi-ball. I prefer the other Pin 2000 game Revenge From Mars.
