Spider-Man Vault Edition is a very good remake of the classic 2007 game.

The layout is superb and every shot has the Steve Ritchie flow. The shot towards Doc Ock is the most satisfying to make for me.

Stern put a lot of effort into rethinking this game. I like the new artwork, especially the playfield although I think the original figurines looked a bit better. And the biggest disappointment is the static Goblin on this game, to me the moving Green Goblin has always been fun to hit in the original.

One of the best aspects is the gamecode. It is very well balanced and Super Hero (on the original at least) is one of the best wizard modes I know of. All of the regular modes are fun as well. The gamecode is similar to Attack from Mars' as it has an easily understandable main ruleset, just shoot the villains. But there is also something to achieve for more advanced players. Reaching Super Hero will not come that easily.

Overall Spider-Man Vault Edition is a very good and fun pinball machine that is easily playable for beginners and challenging enough for advanced players. But I prefer the 2007 original.

The 5th pin I bought and I honestly cannot see myself ever selling it. Some really challenging shots, very good theme integration. Beautiful playfield. Yes the call outs are cheesy but so is the original cartoon and people loved that. The game looks and plays amazing. In my top 5!

I have a Spiderman VE on a temporary trade and it is a fantastic game I highly recommend for a family. First, this game has very easy to understand rules, as well as a mix of easy and hard shots. A complete noob will go for the Sandman 3 bank, and the Venom, Green Golblin, and Doc Oc targets are all straight forward. Complete the villains twice to go for a big bad guy rumble! The white targets and modes are great, as is the easy to understand how to get into multiball.

I think this game is a bit on the easier side, and my games on this tend to be pretty long. I would compare this game favorably to Stern Star Trek Pro, and say that it is an easier version of that game. The animations on this game are fantastic, but the sound design is okay at best. I will say that this is the single best lit game I have ever played. All of the VEs come fully LED'd and the lollipop rails on this are a very nice touch. The toys, models, and theme integration on this one are top notch.

I have nothing negative to say about this game other than it being a bit of a long player. If you blow up the wizard mode of most games you play I'd recommend Stern Star Trek over this for a similar feel and layout.

I feel this game does not get the respect it deserves. Fun and challenging.

Good shooter. Lots to do. Upper flipper is a nice shot. Toys are all over.

Can get old, but you can really have a good time playing and stay on it for a few games.

Fun game, with nice game flow. Not the best of this era, but solid fun.

A fun and fast flowy game. Shots to the Sandman can be dangerous. This is one of my wife’s favorites, so it gets a lot of play from us at our favorite pinball place. Something about it doesn’t draw me in quite as much as it does her. That said, it is a lot of fun and worth spending your credits on.

Spider Man has one of the best layouts ever. Amazing (Steve Richie Flow) with ramps to the left and right but is balanced by stop and go with Doc Oc shot. An Attack from Mars target wall protects the Sand Man shot until you open it up and then the Sand Man becomes a bash toy. I love the call sounds when he gets hit. Great game but I personally like the 2007 original a little better. I can't explain it but the 2007 Spidey feels and plays more solid. I usually like the animated art packages over movie clip art but I like the colors and spidey on the orignal. Play both and decide for your self. Either way, great game.

The VE handedly defeats the film trilogy edition of this pin. The callouts are super cheesy. That being said my kids love them and talk along with them. This game is fast and furious. The middle post is helpful while not being an overt crutch.

I like the VE as the best of the bunch. The artwork is killer. The gameplay is great as well with tons of shots and goals to meet.

This should have been the only release. not a fan of Toby Maguire so i don't need him looking at me. I have been reading Spider-man for years and this is the best out there in the comic book machines. "spiders are lit" its go time. it's a great 3 flipper game. the feel of the game is a little bit clunky and not a soft as other stern games. but still a blast to play if your a comic book fan. a must have.

Well, it's Stern's Spiderman. A very good solid game to say at least. Buttersmooth shots and always fun to play. I like the VE the most because it looks so nice an I really dislike the photoshopped art on the original one. The only thing that bothers me is the music. I think it is a bit repetitive and it doesn't really catch me. But that's just my personal opinion.

I have waited to rate the game. We have owned it for about a year - and of the 7 games we own - Spiderman might be the one that gets played the most. It is fun and can be readily picked up by newer players. The game itself is a bit basic with the Sandman being the biggest gimmick in the game, but we don't mind. I understand that it can be a bit too easy for the hardcore players, but for us, it is about right.

A couple of notes

- A color DMD really does add a lot to the game. If you are buying the game make sure you have enough $ left over to pick up the color DMD.

- The game really does look cool. The art on the VE is spot on (IMO), and the LED light show is great. It makes for a fun-looking and inviting game.

- We have had it in our collection for about a year and we have no plans on getting rid of it.

Great vault edition of one of the best Stern games. The VE artwork, lighting and other tweaks are welcomed improvements over the original version. As most would agree, the new callouts are the biggest weakness, especially when compared to the original. Not nearly as cheesy of callouts/voice acting as X-Men, TWD or GotG, thankfully.

Good relooking of a timeless classic. The little letdown is the music.

I always loved the layout and gameplay of Spider-Man but usually got tired of it quickly. Smashing the all down and destroying sandman over and over for big points just got old quickly. And then I woke up, watched a couple tutorials and really discovered the nuance of the rule set and the scoring. The game flipped 180 on me and instead of chopping wood over and over on a couple of key shots for what I thought was decent points, has gone to a game where I strategically make a bunch of different shots, trying to pull in more of the modes, and more importantly, the shot multipliers on the right shots, at the right time. The rush of completing a mode and getting the right shot multiplied, and then bringing in something big is really fun and completely changes the feel and fun factor of the game. It's one of my favorite games in my collection. Anyone that previously has dismissed Spidey should take a new look at it with fresh eyes and a new way of exploring the game and ways to score on it.

I really enjoy this game and can see owning it again someday. It is a great machine for entry levels players as it isn’t to difficult. The Vault edition updates the LEDs and has a timeless quality. The 3rd flipper for the Venom shot is fun and that is overall what this game is” fun”, simple straightforward rules and has great flow. I understand how great players get bored with it and I’d hope to have that problem some day! Ball times can get long and walking away with a so-so game after. 15 minutes does make you jump to another game.

Spider-Man is a good solid game. I really like the artwork on the vault edition, just not crazy about the sounds, callouts, and music.
