Sopranos is a better machine than it should be, nothing really spectacular in any of it's components, but it is redeemed by brilliant use of it's theme to create a very enjoyable pin. I suppose it really helps if you are a fan of the show, (or at least familiar with it), but I think it stands on it's own as just a fun game to play, even if there is nothing particularly outstanding about the layout, or art!!

Very well themed machine, with soundbites from the series.
You are well informed looking at the playfield what you need to accomplish, and the sound supports it well.

One remark on the lighting: the combination of the flashy playfield colors and the irritating in-your-face lighting can be a pain in this game: without any external light source, I cannot stand to play it for too long without getting a headache.

Decent flow, but hitting the safe gets a bit old.

Pretty big fan of The Sopranos. First few times I played it I wasn't the biggest fan but the more I played it the more awesome I realized the game was. It's theming is top notch and has some of the best call outs in pinball, " This kid can fucking earn..." I love it and could play it all day.

Really? This was during Stern's weird period where they made a bunch of games based off drama TV shows. Its just not a good theme. I have played it a bit however, and at least the fish in the corner is fun.

Played this machine for a few hours. I enjoy the gimmick of it but the soundtrack gets a bit repetitive and annoying. Some of the drain shots are ridiculous and not being able to see the skill shot is just ridiculous. It was entertaining though and true to it's theme. Not a superfast game, but it does have some difficult shots so the fact that it's challenging makes it more playable than others.

Although I'm not interested in owning this machine, I'll play it when I see it at a location. Has a few great sayings programmed in it.

I played this at an Earl's Court coin-op show just before it started to ship. I liked it then, and I like it more now that I've had a chance to play it more in a home setting. Very underrated game and a lot of fun despite being a straight fan layout. Audio is very funny (in adult mode, if you're playing it in family mode you're missing the point), safe is a brilliant toy, boat lock is cool and satisfying to shoot from the right flipper, fish is always entertaining, and the pole dancers look good when the strobed flasher lights them. Hard to find one that isn't a bit tired as they did well on location despite a low production number, so be prepared to put some work in bringing it back up to scratch. Can't see myself ever selling this one. One of only two games every that my girlfriend will switch on and play when I'm not at home.

This was my first pin, so I'm probably not as objective here as I should be. I wanted to buy something for my new poker themed game room and thought I would get a WPT. Well, I found a bowling alley that had one. It also had POTC, LOTR, and Sopranos. I visited to make sure that WPT was a fit and was devastated to find that it didn't click with me, in fact it was the worst of the lot in my estimation. So, I played the other pins too, and came away stunned that Sopranos, which I'd never seen an episode of before, was my favorite. I returned a week later and gave them all a second chance. Needless to say, Sopranos won and I purchased one. I still have it 3 years later, next to a wet bar and my poker game room theme is gone. It's now a pinball game room, so thanks Sopranos for starting me on my pinball journey. Why Sopranos? The groovy theme music is addictive, I love to see and hear the bumper sounds of a shakedown in progress. 'Give him his money already!' I prefer to light the promotion inserts, rather than focus on completing modes. As you complete shakedowns you get cash to prove your loyalty to the Boss and earn rank promotions. The Executive Game card mode is the best where you play poker against the house for cash. The general mafia associations are interesting, especially the talking fish toy for those who 'sleep with the fishes.' Other pin collectors who've visted, usually during the buying or selling of another pin, always play it and walk away surprised at how much fun they had, so I highly recommend giving it a try if you can find one to play. Even though the settings can control the language, it's not a theme for everyone. There's a very adult aspect to it, so this is probably best for bachelors, those with no children, or those with adult children.

The Sopranos is fun to play casually, and there is a decent amount of flow. Quality feels somewhat cheap and the playfield looks a bit shoddy. Maybe not for a diehard pinballer, but casual players can definitely have some fun. Hitting the safe to advance rank is satisfying and the character's speech is funny.

I thought this was a fun solid game. I would not buy it, but I would feed it if I saw one.

This is a second rate machine, to be sure. It feels like a typical "early-2000's stern". I'm not sure what exactly is missing, exactly, but damn, something is.

It also feels really easy to get half decent scores on. Either that, or bad scores look decent because everyone ignores it in favor of the other (better) games at my local arcade.

Also, good god, "wheres the -beep-in' money?!" gets annoying after a while.

I like this game. I've never really watched the show, but according to D, it pulls in the elements of the show well. The game is a lot of fun to play, there are a lot of different modes and things to do, I also like all the ramps. The sounds and voices are fun, they sound like the real actors, except Tony Soprano. One thing I loathe about this game is Satriale's Pork Store. It takes forever and totally disrupts the game flow. The episodes are a bit repetitive, but it's a lot of fun to move up the ranks.

I loved the show, but really diskliked this pinball. I tried to like it since I loved the show, but It's just not very fun to play. Get boring very quickly, and it just feels like they mailed this one in.

Played this a few times over the weekend and really enjoyed it. Not too sure what the big fish brings to the game but plenty of modes and amusing sounds meant I was happy to go back to the game!

A total mixed bag. The art totally sucks and lacks inspiration, but don't most sterns of this era? The fish is a lame toy, but the dancing girls ramp, safe, and boat make up for it. Sounds are hilarious, especially without the family filter on, and gameplay layout is good. Flow is nice. It's fun, but repetitive and is a long player. My wife's favorite game, not mine but I always have fun when I take it out for a little spin. A super underrated game.

I never watched the series so I have no bias there. The artwork is a real killer. The music is different but not bad. It has some funny quotes such as when you get a "Super Jackpot" but most get old real quick such as "Gimme the freakin money." It was cool the first 50 times I heard it but after a few games I wanted the sound turned off. The game play wasn't bad but not outstanding. Definitely not enough to make up for the annoying "Jerseylicous" voice samples.

I didn't think much of this game for a while, but it's grown on me a bit. The playfield artwork leaves much to be desired, but some pretty decent gameplay and amusing audio keep me coming back to this one.

Terrible game, terrible licence, terrible artwork. Soprano's pin WHAT? Played it for the first time in a local bowling alley recently.

Another STERN Flop. I could only see this pin in bars and pizza parlours or possibly a die hard fans home that does not collect pins, but wants to own it just to show off to friends that might think it's cool because of the show. Really only interesting to a very select few. Not a collectors pin, or a good one thats for sure. And really does nothing to tie gameplay into the show, kinda wierd was Soprano's a sitcom? Soprano's pin summed up in these words...forgetta 'bout it.

I had low expectations of this one since I was never an avid watcher of the show. However, I started playing it and found it to be addictive and was pleasantly surprised. I found myself playing it over and over. I like the objective of moving up in the Mafia ranks. Unfortunately, I was only able to make it to soldier.

I just can't get into this one. The license had potential, but the design team did a horrible job of translating it into a pin. Instead of staying true to the feel of the show, they decided to make it all zany. This is The Sopranos people, not The Simpsons!
