I really like this game. I would love to have this in my collection. Party at the BING!

Due to rank rules, the game is very repetitive ( you have to advance before doing anything else if you want an hi-score ) and game design is poor as usual with Stern products.

This is just one fantastic game, love the franchise of the Sopranos. Lots to do, with great ruleset. Looks great, sounds great, great artwork (castmembers) layout playfield (looks like monster bash) with great toys (Stugots, Fish, Bing girls, Safe). It keeps me coming back for more. This one will never leave my house.

This game is available on location near me and is a fun play. I usually end up getting a good enough score for a replay. High score has topped 75,000 a few times. The most fun is when you get multiball going. If you can keep the balls active, you can really build up the bonuses and scoring. Overall a fun game to play.

I owned this pinball for couple years and just recently sold it... Average sort of a game best thing i loved about it was the call outs . Over all there was no big WOW FACTOR about it but if your a SOPRANOS fan it will draw you in...

Gimme the money!

Pros:
- Amazing callouts... if you find this machine on adult mode, by all means play it. F*** Frenzy is worth the price of admission.
- Getting to Boss requires a ton of work - it definitely encourages you to shoot all the shots in the game!
- Safe toy is really nifty plus important if you want to get to Underboss.
- Nice flow, but this is a George Gomez machine, so do I really have to say it?
- Underboss is a really cool multiball mode that also deserves to be played out, plus it can be stacked!

Cons:
- Episodes are all just shoot the red arrows - nothing too exciting - plus Video Mode pot increases way too quickly.
- Layout is way too boring and typical for Gomez, which is surprising considering I enjoy his layouts a ton.
- Translite brings back bad memories of the mid-80s Gottlieb translites.
- Stugots Multiball is weird... shoot Stugots for 2x + Super Jackpot, THEN make major shots for 1x Jackpots? Sounds like something got messed up.
- Safe breaks easily on location, making the game not fun to play at all.

Certainly a games that keeps you coming back. Tough shots with excellent risk/reward. Steep ramps and tempting center toys make it fun. Love the fish random awards, modes and of course Stugots MB. While I never watched the TV show, this is a game I could play indefinitely.

Finally got to spend time on sopranos, its a game I always wanted to play, so when I got the chance I was stoked!! Its a great game I really enjoyed it, if your a fan of the show it wont let you down, the toys are pretty cool, safe ,strippers on poles the truck, boat lock etc. I really got a handle on the game pretty quick made it to underboss on the second game, im not sure if that's a good thing because im not the best player by any stretch so im pretty sure if I spent some serious time on it I mite have Boss done in a few weeks, so that's why im not sure if this game has the legs to stay in home collection, saying that if you bought one you don't want to overpay for it because you might want to flip it when your done due to it being a little on the easy side, im only saying that because here in Australia they seem to be priced pretty high. The episodes on this game are very, very good and the buddabing ramp for Multi ball is cool, and the safe is fun to bash, this is a fun game, I found the shot layout so much like lord of the rings, that might be why I liked it so much and could understand sopranos nearly straight away, because lord of the rings is my grail pin, an Sopranos feels like a watered down version of it. saying that Sopranos is a super fun game and I totally enjoyed it. if your thinking about it its a good choice.just not sure if it has the staying power..

Sopranos consists of a relatively basic "fan" layout. This can be good or bad depending on the rules, and with this one it sits somewhere in the middle. I appreciate being able to stack a lot of things on top of each other, I like the add-a-ball on the Fish saucer, and the Wizard mode (BOSS) feels good to get to. It gets grindy though and subsequent plays back to back can be a draining affair (mentally) if you are half-decent at the game. There is a lot to do on here though, it's just that no single part really adds up to anything completely satisfying--everything is relatively small points and it's not until you get to Underboss and BOSS that the points start to snowball quickly.

Sound-wise the game is a mixed bag. It has some *really* funny callouts and an excellent main in-game theme, but much of the rest of the music sounds very weak like listening to a midi file on the Windows 95 OS (Lord of the Rings had this same problem). The dots are hit or miss as well--some are fun like the Truck Heist, but others (such as most of the dots for the Episodes) are lacking. Cabinet looks fine in its simplicity, and the backglass looks fine as well. Playfield looks pretty basic with some Photoshop-esque visuals, nothing too crazy there.

I think the Sopranos is a decent game and worth playing. It's far from Stern's worse, but it's nowhere near its best. It's a grind/chopping wood affair with the big payoffs being very minimal until you reach a handful of specific modes. Play it if you see it, but I don't think it's worth the price of owning at the current rate it goes for.

Overlooked stern. Just a fun playing pin anybody can step up and play. Long ball times. I set everything to hard, shortened timers and have the tilt very tight. Lots of swearing and innuendo not for everybody. Hurry up loop reminds me of T2. Very little rubber to replace so shop out is easy. Translight and cabinet art/photography are weak, playfield same quality as any other stern. Upgrading rating a little since I seeked out a second sopranos. My favorite stern to date.

Mediocre. Nothing I "need" to play, but enjoy it when I come across one.

Played this at an arcade, overall pretty fun game consistent with the Sopranos theme. Really liked cracking the safe. The only con I saw for home use was that even in "PG" the "bleeps" might be a bit more than people with small children might want.

my first impression was that the game play was very good, but the callouts were just decent. I liked the main music theme, but the rest was not that great. Definitely fun to play, but not high on my list to own.

Sopranos is one of my alltime favourite TV shows, so the theme strikes some chords for me personally. The layout is not the most original in the world, critics say that George Gomez just keeps rehashing his popular Monster Bash layout. This is true to a certain degree, but i have to say this layout simply works and is plain fun.
The toys in the machine are nice but nothing special, nevertheless it’s always cool to see the strippers start dancing in the upper left playfield corner. The safe in the center is an easy target but those center shots can cause some dangerous SDTM drains. Hitting one of the two ramps feels satisfying but is not that easy. Left and right orbit are the easiest shots on this playfield, as is the center spinner shot which starts all the modes.
There is some strategy involved in stacking the multiballs and maxing the score while reaching underboss. I always feel like there is a healthy amount of things to do and different approaches to follow on this machine.
It’s definitely not a visual stunner at first glance but i really like the gameplay. Can’t put my finger on why i love playing Sopranos but it’s always very entertaining!

This is a very fun machine. The Meadowlands shot tends to be a little hard to hit, but rewarding when you do hit it. The game really kicks in at the Underboss ranking. Overall, this is a very fun game to play, easy to understanding for beginners, and enough depth to keep seasoned players interested.

I like this game. I like the shots, I like the ramps, many options and shots to choose from. It is not complicated and it is fun to play over and over. I like the theme but I do not care for the backglass art at all, very boring, I think they could have went in a much more interesting direction, but that really doesn't affect the gameplay.

The artwork is so-so. Has pretty decent flow to it, and a fair number of toys. The vault is kind of cool. I like how you can work yourself up through the ranks. I never made it to Boss or Under Boss, but that what kept me coming back for more. Overall an above average machine as far as actual game play is concerned that suffers from below average artwork.

The Sopranos is awesome. it's a fan layout just like the holy trinity (AFM, MM, MB) and the game just works. it fits the theme perfectly as it has plenty of characters from the program doing voices, and it features several recognisable aspects like a fish, a speedboat, and of course those pole dancers at the Bada Bing nightspot.

the overall rules are excellent in my opinion - to get to the Wizard mode (Boss) you have to play all the modes, plus finish all of several other items (Meadowlands = multiple R ramps, Bing multiball = multiple L ramps, RIP = multiple rollover lanes, Truck Heist = multiple orbits, Food = various shots), bash at least one Safe in, score at least one SuperJackpot on the boat multiball, and work your way up to Underboss by either smashing six safes in, or loads of ramps and loops to collect green lights and pay lots of tributes.

the two-tone cabinet and characters backglass are just perfect - ok so they all look miserable on the backglass, so what? that's true to the program! sticking with the art, i think the playfield is gorgeous as it has a lovely spread of shots and things to look at. maybe i'm just a sucker for a fan layout, i admit it.

this game has some humour and some darkness, also plenty of rude adult content but that can be turned off in the menus. it definitely has that 'just one more go' feel to it, so it's very addictive and can easily steal a couple of hours without you realising it; this is why my operator friend tells me it's his best earning game on site, by a long way.

i'm a big fan and find very little to complain about on the game, but i'll try i suppose. the boat obscures the rollovers on the right. the Fish saucer doesn't always catch the ball. and there's not enough murder in the game - but i expect that was taken out by the marketing people :)

some cooldude wrote a rulesheet for it, look: http://pinball.org/rules/sopranos.pdf

I am from the Garden State and I am a fan of the Sopranos show but despite this I really really really do not like this game. It's ugly, both in conception and execution. It has no flow to it and, worst sin of all, its BORING. You ever a play a pinball machine where you wish you'd lose the ball??? That's The Sopranos. Stern at its worst.

Ball times are too long. Game really can't be played as a multi player for this reason. Good call outs though.

Had chances to buy this game over the years but never did.Picked up one needing a lot of electrical work for a good price. After a lot of plays on a dialed in game I must say I really like the game.Give it a chance youll be surprised.

Lots of cool ramp type shots. Had alot of fun playing this game. Not so impressed with the Backglasss and Artwork in general but that isn't so important when choosing a pin for my collection. Fun factor is most important and this game has it for sure.
