Is it pinball? No. Is it fun? I think so.

The Pros:
Whoever designed this game must have a doctorate in psychology. This is one of the simplest designs ever put out. Heck, it’s not even pinball. It doesn’t even have flippers. Just a door handle. But that one more game quality, the skin has it. The skin has it and then some. I’d love to find one if I could, but the collectors seem to scoop them all up along time ago and the ones that are holding onto it or holding onto it with a fierceness that is only reserved for their favorite pinball games. This game is so good, that the sound, artwork and theatre on it is nonexistent and people don’t care. The game is captivating, frustrating and has that incredible balance of anxiety, skill, frustration and the feeling of real accomplishment when you get it right.

The cons:
Finding one. Finding a collector who will sell me their copy. I’d love to on this game.

The Takeaway:
Along with Williams ringer, this may be one of the best one-handed amusement games out there that you can enjoy with your friend while drinking a beer in your other hand. Find one if you can, play it and if you can figure out a way to on it, do it. If you have one for sale, private message me!

Addicting!

Wow. I was surprised to see Skill Roll listed in the archives of Pinside. I recently picked up a skill roll to go along with my 9 arcades and 7 pinballs. We had a party last night and we played skill roll for two hours straight. It's such a fun game. My wife and I each put up a 350 score. Hitting the shot on the bottom row sent the party goers into complete euphoria. Definitely keeps you coming back for another game. If you see one for sale, snatch it up. You won't be disappointed.

Got to play one at the 2015 Cleveland Pinball Show and it was awesome. Simple but highly addictive and fun to play with a friend or two.

Not an EM pinball machine of course, but it has familiar mechanics and sound. I am lucky to own one and love it. Takes up a small foot print and lights up real nice. A perfect addition to an EM game room. Yes, addicting play. It's just as popular as the pinballs when folks come over, and is a conversation piece. I talked with an old bar owner once who said he bought his for around $60 back in the day. Said it earned $30 a week in nickels FOR EVER.

Frustratingly addictive game. Simple but challenging rules will keep you playing it again and again. Single player game but fun to stand around and play with a group of friends or family. Fun to see the building anxiety of getting so close to the end. Seeing someone light the star makes you want to as well. Artwork isn't exceptionally interesting but has that nice wood rail era nostalgic warmth to it. Small footprint makes it easy to find a spot for it.
