Underrated game. Much more fun than it looks........ so let's give a higher rating.
Not too nice, but play it ........ that is something I like.

Underrated game. Much more fun than it looks. In all honesty, a game that is fun to play but may not want to own.

Love The Shadow. So many cool aspects to it: battlefield, player controlled diverters, coolest magnet trick in all of pinball (well, maybe tied with BSD), and great skill shot.
I love the modes and the fact that it's SO difficult to make it to the final battle. Lastibility is great here. The light show is spectacular and this thing needs LEDS for sure.
This pin needs to be dialed in. Some things that need to be just right to operate well: wireform off left ramp--ball can fly off it. Battlefield drop target needs to be flush with pf if in down position or ball will sit in the divet.
Overall a wonderful pin and worth it's asking price these days. Lotta pin in that cab!

I recently did some clean up and adjustments to my Shadow and starting playing it again (after a few months pause). I had forgotten just how fun the game is. For me the play is challenging and the theme & call outs corny / humorous. Just an all round great game.

Edit:

A couple of days left for me with this machine before it moves along to the new owner, so I thought I'd update my review.

I enjoy the feeling of this game, but I never felt like I had fun playing it. I was always too pissed off and frustrated due to SDTM drains that seemed totally like they weren't my fault and that I was being punished by the game for doing what I was supposed to do.

I should have loved this game (and I still do like it) as it has everything I like in a game; orbits in both directions, an awesome inner loop, a cool ball lock and a novelty mini playfield toy that is quite inventive.

I wish I could keep it, but it's worth too much to have sitting here when the space and money could be occupied by something I'd like more.

-------------------------------------------------

Fast.
Hard.

Nice flow, but don't miss the left hand ramp, or the ball will come sailing right back and drain before you know it.

Interesting idea on the ramps that allow you to change what flipper the ball will return to. Battlefield mini-game in interesting, though I've found weak shots to the drop target resort in a SDTM drain.

I can see why people like this game, but it may or may not be a keeper for me. I'll update this review as I've had more time with the game.

This game is so ridiculously good. Plenty of stuff to keep you interested and very challenging. Most need to try it solo at an arcade for an hour to really begin to like it because it's hard and will beat you up quick until you get the hang of it.

A must have in a collection and will make you a better player with some hours into it. Cheap now but that probably won't last too much longer as many are discovering this game and scooping them up.

Truly this game is my number #1

Lots of flow, strategy, & true lastability.
I paid a hefty price for this one because it was in really nice condition, sold 2 of my pins to buy this one, no regrets & I'm 100% happy with it, it will only leave my possession if I ever give up pinball.
The only thing on this game I would improve is the translite.

This is a players pin & not an easy table, from the makers of Medievil Madness & Attack from Mars this game stacks up with the best.

I think game play wise this is the one i enjoy playing the most, i love the mini playing field and the ball vanishing for multi ball.

this is a game which is a little harder but so enjoyable, if you want something to give a little bit more of a challenge than some of the easier machine you can't go far wrong with this.

love the purber, if thats how it spelt

The Shadow is a HARD game. You could own it for years and never be sure you could just walk up and it would not own you.

Sounds are amazing and rich.

Backglass is not the best, but otherwise the game is beautiful.

First off...Thank God for alternate translites.

Now that that's out of the way, LOL This is a really fun game. I love the switching ramp set-ups and the upper playfield is really cool. I also loved the lighted rings on the one I played. Really cool feature. The coolest feature is definitely the Sanctum ball lock. I LOVE how the magnet holds the ball there and then boom...it's gone. So COOL!

Needless to say, this is a lot of fun for not a lot of money. Definitely worth having in your collection.

Here's a game that I just did not get at first.
The terrible art on the translite also didn't make me want to just walk up and play.

I got the chance to buy one really cheap and played around with it. Started to learn the rules a bit better... and now, I cannot say enough about shadow. Just a super well-rounded game with some of the coolest features in pinball.

Yeah, I'll be changing the stock translite, but aside from that, this is one of Eddy's top games and far outclasses MM and AFM in a dollar to fun ratio comparison.

Who knew???

Played this at the Michigan pinball expo, very cool ball lock feature, I love the small upper "ping-pong" playfield, the only negatives I suppose are the call-outs and the artwork, but I tend not to expect a lot from movie pins in the artwork department, very fun and challenging pinball overall!

The one that got away, the almost machine or 'doesn't quite hit the mark' are, by far, the best descriptions you can put on the shadow.

Found this game to be extremely dull in the art department. Very boring gameplay.

Deceptively good. For whatever reason, I never played Shadow until recently. Perhaps because it was such a bad movie. But the pinball is fun, challenging, and addictive like so few themed games are.

One tough SOB. It is very difficult to "accidentally" run up a high score on this one. Aside from collected a lot of points by doing the loop over and over, which is a lot harder than it looks, it is a very fair scoring game. It is a game that I have found to like the more I have played it. The flipside to being a pretty hard game, the few games that I have each night where I get everything to fall in place are very rewarding.

For those who think the theme is bad, watch the movie. The movie really isn't that bad. It isn't as good as the Rocketeer or the Phantom but I would say that it is better than Dick Tracy. Maybe, the movie would have been better if they would have made the movie really dark by making the Shadow more like a crime fighting vampire but no one at the time was doing that sort of thing yet with super heroes in Hollywood. I like pulp noir and maybe that helps some but it isn't a bad flick.

Fast and brutal. This game is as good as all the hype says it is. To me, this is definitely a pinballers machine. It requires quick reflexes, impeccable timing and a lot of patience. If you haven't played one make sure to give yourself at least 10 games, like No Fear it takes a bit of time to get a good "flow" going.

Super fun and the upper playfield is really good. A under-rated game at 20
