The first pin my wife and I bought and will always be part of the lineup. Artwork is fantastic and the bells are charming. Difficult game but not frustrating. Outlanes can be brutal but are typical of other Bally’s of that era. Right flipper backhand to collect bonus is one key to high scores as you DO NOT collect bonus on a drain!

I just recently acquired this game. The playfield and back glass have a great theme and colors. The more I play it the more I like it. Also being kind of a rare game with only 1300 produced, it is one of the best games from 1971.

This was my first EM pin. The game is simple, uncluttered, fun and tough to play. The "wiggle" lane on the left is a novel idea. A classic game!

A fun Bally, plenty to shoot for, some quite hard to get. The play field lay out is challenging, the art work is well done and very colorful, the back glass looks good and the game play is challenging, sometimes this machine will bet you down. a top tier bally

I owned this game for a while. It takes you back to 1971. I loved the artwork on the backglass and playfield. My only knock against it is the game play. It feels like an average game from that era and for me, it gets old after a while compared to other EM games. The sounds are OK but I think Gottllieb did a better job with chimes in this era.

Recently finished fixing up this game and am really enjoying it. I love the art and color scheme, plus the endorsement from my wife: "You're keeping that, right?", bless her. Collecting bonus only from playfield shots makes for more interesting game play, and the left side wiggle lane with random special features (gate, 100 pt bumpers, extra ball) gives novices a potential edge, so all ages can enjoy this together.

Very cool design and playfield layout. You always want to get in the kickback lane and cash all the bonus. When it is set up correctly it can be a very fast game. Nice bell sounds. Christian Marche did the artwork and I am a huge fan of all of the pins he designed. Nice theme with a good mixture of humor and action and a real pop-art classic in your gameroom.

I originally added a Sea Ray to my collection with the intention of fixing it up and selling it.
But the more I play it, the more I really enjoy it. It's a great 2 player game.

The rules allow for each player to earn the rewards during the ball. You must make shots in order to collect your accumulated bonus. There are multiple strategies that can be followed to help get you the best score.

There is an Extra Ball as well as a "wiggler" like path on the right that can award things like extra balls.

The art package is point people, but scuba diving instead! I love the theme and the pointy people add a unique feel to the art. The color scheme of the cabinet fits the theme as well.

All in all, I feel that this is a solid game from Bally. And if you are interested in adding an EM to your tournament, this is one that would be well suited for head to head combat!

Sea Ray is an solid Bally effort. The collect bonus on shot vs on drain is a great concept. Why should bonus be so easy to get? I think you should have to collect it so that makes this the most important feature on the game for me. There is generally a bit of randomness to things in this game, but I think that is what makes this so approachable.

If you remember back to being a kid and finding that machine where you have a chance because there is so much variability in the game you can beat that older sibling or adult this is the machine you can do it on. I find it fun and something to come back to over and over because I can have a really good game and then drain continuously on those super large Bally outlines.

Highly recommended for some play time and addition to your collection. Not the best Bally EM of the seventies, but a really solid and fun example.

Bally Sea Ray is my second EM. I was drawn to it for the wacky angular art of Christian Marche and the oceania color scheme. There are two tone chimes for 100 and 1000 along with the clicking of the relays and steppers. Lots of clickity-clack and ding-dongs make up the sounds that transport me back to the 1970s. The variety of features on the playfield make it challenging, quite fun, and keep me coming back for another game.

My collection is mostly faster modern SS pins but I never knew an EM could be so much fun until I started playing Sea Ray. I am going to start paying attention to more EMs in the future.

Fun little 2-player EM with quite an interesting playfield for its day.
