My favorite pin for a while now and was #1 on my wishlist until i recently acquired it. I read enough reviews to know to immediately set it up on extra hard difficulty and give it a good pitch (7.5 degrees). Because of this I haven't had any really good runs but absolutely love the game, sound, and play. Highly recommend this for any size collection but be sure to set it up to be challenging.

This game has the best call outs I've ever heard on a pinball machine! Elvira is hilarious, whoever wrote all these had some really sharp, sexually suggestive word play happening. The art and theme were a big draw card also, beyond that the game plays well and it great fun. I think number 13 on the top 100 is a bit high but a top pin.

Elvira in a pin is pretty good. This pin is a bit "too campy" for me. RFM was my limit of pinball camp. However, it plays well. It's fun to play. Some of the shots are more difficult than others, but hey, that's pinball.
Would not want one in my collection, but would certainly play it in anothers collection.

I question if there is a more beautiful playfield.. it's awesome. It's a keeper for me. This game is also one that I can not play nightly. I need some time off to want to come back to it..but hey...it fits into my halloween theme room.

This is one of the best pins which has ever seen the light. The first time i played it, I just loved the sound shooting the crate and Elvira nd the other guy shouting out. It might be true that the rules aren't that deep, but sometimes you just wanna have fun and don't think about combos and whatever. Especially when you have guests, they don'T care about rules, they wanna keep the ball alive and see something happening. Scared Stiff is best choice for that.
My SS will never ever leave my home again, it's just the best pin ever :-)

Elvira Scared Stiff has a great theme and is fun to play. The multi-layered backglass with the spider is awesome. Game has some really good music and great quotes from the mistress of the dark. The problem with this game is it is way too easy to complete the modes. The "Scared Stiff" wizard mode is fun and I love the heart beating sound. The only thing difficult in this game is trying to complete the spider wheel. Doing so makes this a two shot game as you repeat right ramp and then the right hole. Getting spider awards is neat and adds some to the gameplay. When you finally get to spider mania, it is a bit of a letdown. Great replay animation / sound with the other B/W games. Good game, but it is overrated IMO.

First, I am not a fan of most DMD games, but Scared Stiff is one of the best tables I have played from the DMD era. Its a simple, straightforward table to play. Its great for both novice and pro's alike. Its simple, complete 6 tales of terror and raise the stiff-o-meter to level 10, and 5 million points and a 4 ball multiball happen! Thats it, nothing to it right... not quite. Many modes are very simple to complete such as Night of the Leapers and Eyes of the Bony Beast, but Stiff in the Coffin and Monsters lab require some extra work. Multiball modes are great even though jackpots are quite low, BUT you can raise them, and making jackpot shots are not difficult. The spider on the backglass is hard to hit exactly what you want which offers all new challenge to the table. Overall, a great player and worthy of owning and playing over and over.

An instant favourite of mine. I have never been huge on Elvira but this table really sucked me in and in very little time. It is very easy to get the hang of and there's loads of fun to be had. I love everything about this pinball.
A table that ain't so complex but it is overloaded with campy charm.

On the surface it seems like a pretty simple and straight forward game, but it does have some depth and does get more and more difficult as a single game progresses. Crate adds that good element of Chaos to what would be a relatively easy game.

Love this machine, smooth as butter, but kind of easy. Very fun none the less.

Played this game and found it OK, as did my family.

It had good game play and easy to understand base rules to get you started. I can't comment on depth, etc, because I'd have to play it a lot more, but no one was attracted to it enough to want to come back for more. The game just did not hold anyone's interest, and that's important to me if considering a game for a home setting. So, it would not be on any list to either purchase or go out of our way to play again.

Beautiful game with a lot of neat features and shots. The only problem is that it's too damn easy. When you can get to the Stiff o Meter twice in one game. What does that tell you?

My favorite modern table. Scared Stiff kicks Elvira and the party monsters out of the park! It's really fun and super rewarding. The table is a fairly easy and simple table to get used to, but the replay-ability factor is very high due to Elvira's witty remarks and it's self aware kitsch.

Just don't understand the love for this pin. The modes are varied but typical. Ramp shots, orbit shots, ball locks, hit certain targets, blah blah blah. I consider myself a pretty average player and have gotten very close the the wizard mode pretty easily. Maybe I'm too young to really remember the Elvira craze, but the theme is just OK to me. It does have some good call outs. Um, I don't know, the back glass is cool? Just a whole lot of 'eh' going on IMO.

The artwork could be a little much for a family setting. Likewise placing the game in family mode tones down some of the more colorful statements. A potential buyer should really evaluate if it is too much for a family gameroom.

This is a fun game to play at a buddy's house, but the enduring factor is just not there for me. It would look sweet paired next a EATPM though.

A great machine. Fun to play! Elvira and her call outs are funny. Artwork is top notch.

I really can't think of anything bad to say about SS. It may become a bit repetitive if I owned on, but i can quite easily play a dozen or more games on the bounce when I find one in the wild.

My rating came out high for this machine because the artwork and the integration of theme is outstanding. I admire Elvira more now after hearing her sound bytes...they are great. Faster game times and less work than TZ, but fewer toys and not remotely as complex. If you like Elvira, you can't not own this machine.

Voice overs and music just bring everything together almost perfectly. Fun casual game and hard to get the ultimate spider multiball!
