A bit easy for the old hands and pros, but for beginners or folks who play to have fun, you can't beat this game. Elvira isn't the main star here, its what Greg Freres did with the artwork...colourful and dark all at the same time.

Scared Stiff is a well flowing game with an easy to understand ruleset. WMS tried to improve the look of their games with this release; bony flipper bats, ribs on the "bony Beast" ramp, two layer back glass, etc. I think it was a worthy effort and wish they had continued the trend. In my experience, this game has better than average dependability for a WPC game, which is already good. My only complaint is the repetitive nature of the in-game speech. Minor complaint. A fun game to play.

It makes me stiff! It is the house favorite. It is not going any where!

Loved this one. Best spooky theme machine I have played

I have to agree with many of the comments that this is an excellent machine in a large collection or for family and friends that are not heavy players. They did a remarkable job of integrating the theme, artwork, toys and sound in a beautiful machine. But I found the gameplay repetitive going for crate and coffin multiball then the wizard mode. This doesn't mean it is an easy game for intermediate players to put up a big score. The wizard mode is easy to get to but challenging to beat, and lighting everything on the spider wheel would be tough unless that is your main goal. There are just too many other more challenging games out there if that is what you are looking for and don't have a bunch of room or money. This ended up being the first game I sold in my 6 pin collection when I needed to make room for a faster game that would keep me coming back again and again. I thought my wife would give me a hard time about Elvira's assets and the innuendo - but no, she only gave me a hard time when I sold it.

-Well; easy to play. No deep rule set and easy to finish, so some may get bored.

Super fun game. Great callouts, graphics and flow. Lots to do and lots of challenge.

Scared Stiff is a very interesting game to play. Although some of the sound effects can get a bit repetitive, the play field layout is great and offers a challenge. The trunk of monsters is one if the main features and is fun to play around. Much if the game is based off of this. Another awesome feature is the spider wheel on the back glass. Activate the wheel and you can click the flippers to stop the spider and land on a certain section of the wheel. It's full of power ups and offers a great element to the gameplay. Scared Stiff is a more difficult game (at least for me) with lower scores- but that kept me coming back trying to improve and reach a score I'd be happy with- it works out well! However, I could see that after a while, the play field is set up so that the shots you take will get quite repetitive- I've not played it enough to reach that point.

Suggestive theme, design above the average, game in the average but insufficient sound decidedly, beautiful to see him but very less to have a good time him.

There is something just cheesy and fun about this game. Is it a players game, no, but for general all around fun and novelty, it's fantastic. I think this would be a great game in a 3+ game collection as it's probably not one I'd sit and play over and over after the initial novelty wore off.

Edit: The more I play this table the more I love everything about it. Really looks good with a color DMD! I have played it over and over and still love it. Mind you, I'm not a good player by any means, so the challenges of this table are enough to keep me coming back . . . I'm sure a good player might find this boring after awhile.

I WANT ONE!!!! love this game!

This one is pure fun! The backglass "spinner" is a nice touch and adds a fun physical mini game. Love the themeing from the backbone ramp covers to the leaping frog targets. Great for a beginner too as the multi-ball crate is relativity easy to activate. The sounds are great and the Elvira narration is campy fun.

Really, nothing negative about this pin. It plays great, is themed great, and has some cool sound/callouts. Would never get old in a collection.

I love this game. I am not really even an Elvira fan, but this game is very like-able for its ingenuity and flow. Fun sounds, cool game modes with plenty to do, great playfield art and layout, fun toys, and it keeps you coming back for more. I'd own one if I could afford one. I have to settle for Pinball Arcade when I can't play the real thing.

simply one of the best ever.

This machine will always hold a special place in my heart. I played this until i ran out of quarters when it first came out. Besides being a beautiful machine, this machine is just a joy to play. The rules are easy to understand, and flows seamlessly.

There are plenty of good games like TZ and TAF, which are without a doubt fun, but also frustrating. Pinball should be about fun without having to reading a manual to understand the rules. I wish there were more games like scared stiff!

Scared Stiff is an excellent Bally/Williams machine from the Golden Era or pinball. Awesome artwork across the entire machine. Some really interesting and creative items, like the skeleton across the length of the ramp, and toys n the backglass. Eye-opening and goood fun for pros and novices alike. A really unusual and entertaining pinball machine. Just what you'd expect from Bally. Definately a top-100 machine. I would love one.

Another simple machine; atleast until you get to the end. I always screw up the end. Fortunately/unfortunately, you can get to the end more than once in one game.

Love the art all around, theme, the humorous horror, and sometime adult themed sound provided by the famous Cassandra Peterson. You can be entertained by this machine just from watching someone else play it.
