Fun machine for sure. The music is very catchy and will get stuck in your head. The color schemes and artwork feel very late 80's, but not as bad as some make it out to be. Nice range of shots, and ramps all over the place. Amazing light show, and good decent call outs. A fun game the family can enjoy.

Love it. Always a crowd favorite. Early Richie flow.

Everyone you talk to claims they love Rollergames, however, there isn’t any love for Rollergames on the Pinside Top 100! The game is basically a re-hash of everything High Speed did years earlier, however, it embodies all the traits of early-90s excess: neon, catchy music, big hair, spandex! It may be an exercise in style over substance, with the music and art package carrying the bulk of the positive things to say about the game. After all, it’s a System 11 game with simple rules revolving around big points in multiball. However, in typical Ritchie fashion, he’s created a fast, kinetic game that can be challenging if set up properly. The orbits are lightning fast. The left orbit to top flipper to side ramp shot will score the bulk of the points outside of multiball, and is difficult to master thanks to the speed at which the ball careens around the orbit. Getting the multiball side ramp jackpot shot timed properly can be quite the task as well. The “Pit” to “Deep Freeze” VUK is a neat little toy, and is pretty impressive when working properly. Dan Forden’s music and sounds are absolutely spot-on. The chanting of “Roll-er-games, Roll-er-games” before each multiball pumps you up for the three-ball frenzy (and gives you time to catch your breath). Perhaps the theme kills the game’s appeal, being based on an unsuccessful TV licence. Smack a WWF or American Gladiators licence on this and it’s an instant classic. Regardless, in my experience, this game gets the most play and most positive comments from visitors to my gameroom, especially non-pinball enthusiasts. It may be High Speed on rollerskates, but it is executed well and remains one of the best value pins of its time.

Lot of fun to play. Very 80's looking. The call outs and music get a little old pretty quick. There are some prototype roms out there that have better/different call outs. That might be better. The ramp (the Wall) is a neat set up with diverters and works well. The prototypes had drop targets on the left which would have been way better for game play than the targets on there now. Sometimes its almost impossible to hit the correct target. It lasted a year in my collection.

How is this game not in the top 100?
Fast, fun,Steve Ritchie flow.
Great bang for your buck and more to shoot at than high speed or f14.

Just a good fun game that won't break the bank.

This is a real marmite game, you either love it or hate it. I did hate Rollergames for a whole and its whole cheesy theme but one day it clicked and I started to enjoy it. The soundtrack makes this game great although the girls constantly singing 'rock-rock-rocking rollergames' gets kind of old. A real early 90's pin and all the cheesy artwork and advertising shows it, but I like it.

Rollergames is totally awesome, dudes. it's probably my favourite Steve Ritchie game, which is really saying something as this is man who also brought us STTNG and HS2 and T2 and SM - he is pinhead royalty.

one of the first things you will notice on this spectacular game is the fine lovely shape of the bum on the girl in blue on the backglass. i musta stared at that thing for 10 hours all told. so the backglass definitely gets 10 out of 10. next thing that deserves a mention is that fabulous music - you can hear a couple of the themes here in this clip - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7eE6vVhkFQ - it has at least three memorable tunes that you won't ever forget once you heard them, plus some great speech callouts, including

go for the wall!
don't flip ...... flip!
devastated!
outrageous!
rock, rock, rock .....n rollergames!

what else? oh yeah, the game does a cool thing where it juggles the locked balls while you play, to simulate skaters going round in circles. it has a cool magnet to trap the ball for the ramp and lock shot by upper right flipper (later copied for Elvis). and the sound buildup when you lock that third ball is really something. and did i mention the blue girl's bum on the backglass yet? is nice - I like!

This rare licensed system 11 theme, is AWFUL beyond all imagination. So bad, that I avoided this title for years.

A few wise friends encouraged me to put my blinders on and give the pin another chance. Thank goodness they pushed me to get to know Rollergames beyond the theme.

It is without any question, the real SEQUEL to High Speed. It's High Speed II.

Now, we know it's not really High Speed II, but every quirk of High Speed 1 is solved in this pin.

What's present from High Speed?

1. TWO full orbit shots WITH spinners in both directions.
2. Upper right flipper that can shoot to three exits in the ramp
3. Three pops hidden safely up top in the center of the PF

What are the improvements?

1. The magnet shot is very satisfying. I like that you can nail it at varying strengths and it always sticks. In High Speed, if I nail the saucer shot too hard, it bounces out. Bad.
2. The addition of the inner orbit shot that is repeatable with the left flipper is brilliant.
3. One standup bank was replaced by drops. (drops are always more fun)
4. Addition of "pretend" action via 2 balls in a habitrail that loop around to mimic action.

If you can get past the cheeseball gooey sticky 80's horrible licensed theme, and just accept it as KILLER theme integration -- a resounding success, then you can really enjoy this pin for it's flow and depth improvements over High Speed.

It should be in the top-125 for sure. I can only assume the "theme" has it down at #166.

Love that magnet shot: "FLIP!!!!" Later this month I am going to the best pinball museum in the USA (and most likely the entire world) to play this game again!

This is the most underrated game I have owned. If not for people having issues with 80s/90s cheesiness I bet this would rank a lot higher. I may be a little biased because my addition of LEDs and the fact it's a Diamond plate really make this game shine. Fun cheesy music, sounds, callouts and fast Steve Richie play make this a winner for me especially for the time period.

Very fun pin, obviously designed by the "king of flow" Steve Ritchie. Culmination of Williams System 11 tech. Magnet w instructions is pretty cool, five different songs, multiball, ball save, atomic whip, well positioned pop bumpers. Fast gameplay for a 25 year old table. Highly recommend.

Have been restoring one and when finished and the magnet was 100% it is a blast!

Fast, great flow and good lightshow and addictive music. The shot from right flipper to right upper flipper AND scoring with that upper flipper (up that ramp) is one of the most satisfying shots in pinball!

So i think a great game, a keeper for me.

PS
And the artwork bad? Nowadays it is GREAT!

Pretty darn fun. Not sure why it's rated this low, other than the fact it is a System 11 (non-DMD). The music is cheesy, the artwork is cheesy and bordering on sexist... but that's fun. The FLIP/DON'T FLIP feature is neat... and the side ramp is fun to hit.

Managed to put my initials up on the machine on my first game... which, of course, helps the rating :P

I think this game is great for a system 11. If it wasn't for the artwork, not that it is badly done but because of it's 80'sness, this game would have got a lot more attention.

Rollergames was a nice surprise to find in my local arcade great fun to play really enjoyed it that rollergames rollergames rollergames crowd quote just before multiball reminded me of disc wars disc wars disc wars from tron legacy. The cons the theme is dire and it gets a bit repetive, but it,s charming all the same.

It's so cheesy and so 80s, but the game fits the theme so perfectly. It's probably the closest we'll get to anything like a Running Man machine, and I have no problem with that whatsoever.

I would not be upset if I had this machine in my collection. Dorky and fun as hell.

It's garish, but if you embrace the ridiculousness of the art and sound, you'll find a immensely fun game. Fast and fun.

A seriously under-rated game based on a failed television concept.

Steve Richie did a good job, not a fantastic job on this particular table. It has a few great shots, and is definately worth playing over and over again, however, it gets old after some time. The music is one of the best out of any of Williams System 11 tables, and the game play is fast and fluid, however, you make the same shots over and over again with the only discernable goal being to get to multiball.

Good playing machine, definately worth checking out if you find it on location.

This game is covered with awesome cheeziness. Leopard print pants, sudden death rollerderby, catchy music, and who doesnt love the signature old school logos trampled across the PF? This game takes all the terrible desgns of the 80s and throws it into 1 game, and its awesome! plays super fast and forces you to make your shots. fun stuff!

Just played this one at PAPA today. Hadn't played before. SUPER fun game! Lots of great shots, some really cool ideas (the magnet idea is cool), and fun, cheesy 80s theme! I'm so glad the sound was low so I didn't have to hear the annoying song though (see the PAPA video to hear what I'm talking about). I dig this game, and the fact that it can be picked up in many places for under a grand makes it even cooler. Way underrated due to the theme IMO.

Rollergames is a game that has unfortunately felt the difficulty of overcoming a theme. The game has pretty good flow except when you land in the pit. The left loop to wall shot to repeat a wall shot is a definite rush and the music, though sometimes annoying actually can be kind of addicting. If this game were given different artwork and theming, perhaps even tethered as a racing game it would somehow feel more fun. As it is, the game is a lot of fun and can be very challenging, fast and drain right when you expect to snap into an orbit loop. If you have a chance to play it, give it a few tries before dismissing as it plays better than many pinballs that have a higher rating.

With cheesy music and theme, this game is great fun! I was surprised at how much fun it is. Great challenging shots, tough to get multiball, definitely good replay value. I never pass up a chance to play it when I see one.

Really fast playing game when working properly. Lots of Neon and 80s images, the old soda brand logos are cool, but lots of Neon colors. The magnet assist is also a fun feature. Big pros of this game are the multi ball, speed of play, and fun when competing with other players, cons would be the music tends to get a little repetetive and stuck in your head(nothing like going to sleep and hearing rock rock rocking roller games).

My rating is based on the sample game. I do NOT have drop targets for the SKATE, but I do have the full flashers in the backbox.

I'm always a sucker for the magnet shot and this one uses it well. I could live without "Go for the Wall!", but it is a small price to pay. I am a huge fan of the artwork, think it really captures rollergaming...the side art isn't great, but backglass very cool. Plays solid and can be played by elite or rookie pinballers. One of the toughest starts to a multiball...all 3 get fired off at once!

Most impossible play is spelling "Williams" on the backbox. You need to hit 5 targets on the left to get 1 letter...that is quite a feat in itself. Spelling the entire word is nearly impossible.
