I wanted to like this game more than I actually did. It's a good game, just not a great one in my book. The strengths are a great theme, lots of variation in targets and goals, and a general sense of fun. Too often, though, I had no idea of what I was supposed to be doing. I played it again and again, yet I never seemed to get the rules. Maybe that was just me.

This is one of those games that drags you back again and again. Fun and extremely challenging for those players that want test the depth of their skills at different shots and quick reactions. Upper loops with the upper right flipper are tough to get past 4 loops or so. Getting all 7 letters is a challenge that most never conquer. Give me this over a pretty game like TOTAN, TOM or CV any day of the week

Out of all the pins I played at LAX2012, this one was a huge surprise. Fun playfield with nice variety of shots, cool vudu doll head with magnet, great rails. I couldn't believe it was a Stern! The machine played smooth and had a great feel. Two sets of pop bumpers were a nice touch and are well implemented. Honestly, I walked away thinking that for the money; this was the best bang for the buck and (cue the boos...) up there with AFM and MM! Like other's have said, it truly is "Stern's Twilight Zone"

Really fun pin. Lots of modes, interesting theme, great shots. Love the shrunken head magnet. Music changes help you know modes are up. Lighting is excellent. A great pin.

RBION is a really good game. Lots of variety and nice shots. This machine should be in the top 50.

The first few times I played this game I couldn't get into it. But after understanding the rules this game is one of my favorites out there! I picked one up the other day and can't stop playing it. It really does feel like Sterns version of Twlight Zone. So many things to do and it has great flow to the game. I added a bunch of extra LED spot lights in the game and it looks fantastic. I highly recommend picking this game up if your looking for a deep game to play.

Every one of these I have played always has a part of the game not functioning. Stern has some quality issues.

I've had this pin in my game barn for a couple of years on loan from a friend. It's a big attraction for my guests who seem to enjoy it a great deal more than older pins with less variety in the action shots. The art work is pretty decent on the back glass, but it's the playfield where this pin shines. With ramps, spinners, kickers and lots of multiball, this game has something for everyone. The casual player will be excited by the action, but the rule set is deep, and you can keep the machine going through its various phases for a long time. The penguin chatter can sometimes get annoying. When the time comes to give it up when my buddie's game room is finished, I'll prolly be over at his place to continue my quest to conqer the game. Til then, though, I'm having a lot of fun.

I love this game, one of my favorite Lawlor designs. Very original table lay out & theme. It's a sleeper as most people seem unaware of it.

Seems like a decent game. They one I was playing wasn't fully functioning. No playfield lights were working and that makes it almost impossible to know what you need to doing or what the Lit shots are that you are aiming for. Liked the game but need to give it another try at another location.

This is a really fun pin... the playfield is a little daunting at first but it has a lot to do with the 7 continent missions (and the 8th ??? continent!) its a little hard to see whats happening sometimes (I'm short) since there is so much stuff stacked up and some of the shots are a pain, but overall its a great pin thats a lot of fun, and thats all that matters right!? This is by far one of the best, if not the best, Stern machine I have played

This is a fun, smooth game. But it got docked a few points due to the fact that there aren't many toys and sooooo much more could have been done with the them. Take away those 2 categories and this is a solid 8.3 game.
Also, the center ramp shots is very difficult if the right flipper isn't at full strength.

Played this for the first time at PHOF today and I really disliked it. In all fairness I don't think the game was functioning correctly as multiple times I had 2 balls in the plunger that I had to manually shoot. I played 3 games on this machine and it never really sucked me in. I just found it so dull and bland. I will have to revisit this game when I find a functional one and I am a big fan of the designer.

This has got to be the most underrated game I have come across. In my opinion this should be in the top 30 even top 20. This is one of the best Stern games ever created. It's Stern's Twilight Zone simple as that. I've racked up a few plays on it and what stands out the most is the way the game plays, the flow is really good although at least for myself it can be a bit dodgy at times, but I attribute that with some good challenging shots. The third flipper is a nice touch and allows for even more trick shots. One of which being the super jackpot shot which in the times I've played this game I may have acquired it once due to dumb luck. Most notably is the feel which is more late 90's Williams than Stern. Very deep game with plenty to do.

I played this pin at the Ripley's Believe It Or Not Museum near Arlington which gave it an added hoot. It was playing pretty fast, but fun. I'd call it a poor man's Twilight Zone. The fun factor would be the key to me if I wanted to bring one home, and I'd say I'd be on the fence with this one. I'd take it if I thought I was getting a really good deal.

I want one, plain and simple, I have yet to see one for sale(that wasn't at a ridiculous price). Fun game, great layout and plenty of challenging shots.

Overall a pretty fun pin to play. It was better then I expected. It may not be a top pin but it is interesting and fun enough to warrant a few plays if you come across one. There may have been too many shots designed towards the center of the playfield somewhat dampening the flow in my opinion.

Really fun game and SUPER underrated. Despite lack of toys (other than shrunken head), plenty of room for inventive, theme-related mods on the playfield for enterprising owners. I added several toys - Bigfoot, Ripley-esque explorer, tiki heads, etc. and it looks pretty outstanding. Not really a huge fan of the backglass, but I feel that's the biggest drawback. Since you can usually find a clean, shopped RBION for $3,000 and under through classifieds or Ebay, I recommend picking one up - you won't be disappointed; what this game lacks in animatronic toys, it more than makes up for with the flow/quality of play and the depth of the ruleset.

I bought a real nice example of this game and just learning to play. I like the flow and this definitely a lawlor design. In this age of over priced games this is a diamond in the rough.

I finally managed to get a few games on a fully working RBION in an arcade where I could hear what was going on. I must admit I quite like this one. A bit of a sleeper, and plenty deep enough for me to enjoy.
I'm not keen on the backglass, or some of those black man voice call-outs during the game, these could possibly prevent me from wanting to own one of these in the future.

This surprised me. I didn't like it much first play but the more I play it the more I like it. A deep and fun game that I rate as one of Lawlors best games.

I accidentally found this in a pub and played about 7 games. I am sure there is loads to do but the theme is just so dull. Where is the fun or excitement? There is quite a lot on the playfield but there was nothing in the game to pull me in. One of those games that I do not mind if I never play it again. Maybe if I played it more it would grow on me?? Unlikely to find out though.

This one surprised me. Couldn't stop playing when I first came around one. Not the most beautiful machine, but one hell of a nice player. Best stern in my book.

edit: after 1.5 years of owning this one, I finally decided to sell it. Still a great game, but those killer outlanes really drive me nuts.
