Noteworthy features

  • The Driving Range. Basically a clear sheet of plastic above the playfield and accessible via the short driving range ramp. The ball can hit the Cart, Hole-In-One, center ramp, or dribble off to the left into the left orbit or off the bottom of the range back onto the center of the playfield.
  • Two Pop-Up talking Gofer heads at the start of the two main ramps.
  • Spinning Whirlwheel that is read by the machine in order to award prizes.
  • Gofer mechanisms serve 3 functions - they start as a ramp, then pop up a gofer to hit, then you lock the ball behind the gofer. The left one also has a 4th function as a kickout.
  • The Slam Ramp provides a very rewarding chance at the hole in one on the upper playfield.
  • During "Short Circuit", while Buzz is chewing on the wires inside the game, the wheel spins erratically and the playfield lights flicker.
  • Wizard Mode: The Hole-In-One Challenge, which starts after every ninth completed hole.

Trivia

  • Starring Jon Hey as Bud and Vince Pontarelli as Buzz.
  • Mythology Gag: Two exchanges with these occur when two balls drain before scoring a jackpot in multi ball. The first attempt (Whirlwind): Bud: "Now, head for the cellar!" Buzz: "You're in the wrong game, idiot!" Second (Earthshaker!): Bud: "Everybody, head underground now!" Buzz: "Now you're really in the wrong game!"
  • Spinning the wheel will cause Bud to announce "Round and round she goes!", a Shout-Out to Cyclone.
  • Four No Good Gofers machines were given new cabinet and backglass art and renamed 'Mega Golfball Frenzy'. At least one of these new machines was signed by 96 professional golfers and was auctioned off for charity.

Backbox ornament(s)

None

Video mode

The words 'Video Mode' can be seen when it flicks through the different 'Gofers Choice' awards, but it's an inside joke as it doesn't actually have a video mode.
