Played this just recently and it was different. Good game play in sorts.

This is the best horse racing game ever made, and one of the best EM pins of all time. The rotating pop bumper mech is simply AMAZING for the time. Some say aiming is luck, but to them I say "aim better." Pins of this era were meant to chew change. They. Aren't. Easy.

The back box horse race is phenomenal, and the overall presentation of the game has made it extremely sought after in collector circles

It is a drain monster, and it will challenge your nudging skills, but it certainly has that "one more game" feel.

This is a very good game for a collector due to the historic nature of Nags' features. The famous spinning playfield is the most obvious feature. The horse racing animation in the backbox, while not new (there were a bunch of 'horsey' games), is still one of the best, if not the best, features from the woodrail era. This would be the final full production single player woodrail for Williams and they brought back score reels for good after having attempted to use them years prior. Some pinball purists don't like the luck factor involved since it's very difficult to actually aim for your horse's number when the bumpers are in constant motion. Also, I don't like the bottom portion of the playfield as the ball drains too easily down the numerous rollovers on either side of the bumpers.

Great fun and hard to find one. This is a very particular game with a horse racing theme.
Isn't the best game, but still very clever for the time.

Hard game to rate as it really doesn't play like a conventional pin. Williams reached the pinnacle of horse racing pin design with this game, up until Nags, all the HR games were pretty unbalanced, easier to hit some horses than the others, but they solved that problem with the turntable, a feature that would be amazing today, nevermind in 1960!!! Putting the 6 pop bumpers which represent the horses on a moving turntable was a revolutionary idea, and it works incredibly well!!

I wish I could give this game an even higher rating, but it lacks in the sound department, otherwise it's a solid 9+
