If you like playing something different, this is the game. Its very challenging with two sets of offset flippers. The game makes you work.. You need to use both sets to help get the ball to the upper PF. Eventually the ball hits your extremely long flipper bumper and then you need some careful aiming again. If you enjoy a challenge this is one of the best games for that.

So i just got this game, and after some fiddling and clean up its actually pretty decent.
The cons:
huge
not a whole lot to do except get bonus
odd compared to williams/gottlieb.. nothing carries over from ball to ball
The pros
Neat art
The construction is super durable as far as I can tell..I havent seen one with a worn playfield.. of course maybe no one is playing them
The playfield layout is actually pretty challenging to an intermediate player.. there are lots of things to shoot at, and the geometric playfield makes for some interesting ball behaviour.

I guess its better than Gottlieb system 1 games ( i have a dragon) and prob about as good as a system 6 williams game ( i have trizone) The trizone is better, but not by much.

Weird layout game is kinda slow which makes it boring. Artwork is decent and back glass is pretty.

Good game, plays fast if set up correctly, I enjoy this game. Too many people just following what everyone else says. There are much worse pinballs out there.

I'm a sucker for all things Atari and this is my first Atari pin. Got as a project and brought it back from the dead. :)

I'm not a pin guy and Hyperball is my favorite pin, by far, so take my ratings as you may based on that!

In the spirit of full disclosure, I'm an Atari fan. That said, this isn't a great pin. It plays a little faster than the typical Atari widebody due to the split level playfield, but it certainly won't ever be mistaken for fast. The art, though colorful, doesn't rank among Atari's best efforts...it comes off as rather cartoony and amateurish next to efforts like Airborne Avenger or even Superman. Sound effects are virtually interchangeable with Atari's other pins.

Still, this was the first pin I ever purchased and will likely remain a keeper as long as I can keep it running. Others will quickly grow bored of the repeatedly-bash-drop-targets-to-advance-bonus gameplay.

It's a ATARI for what that is worth. Had this machine for a little while and it only got limited play. Not the best looking cab in the world. Wide body , slow play. Never liked the displays on the machine. Nice to say you played it but would play others first.

This game is really just terrible. It takes up way too much space for the amount of fun you can have playing. I got one when I started buying pins, played it for a couple weeks, and couldn't get rid of it fast enough.
I can usually find something good about any game, but this isn't one of them. If anything . . the colors are nice and the artwork is somewhat interesting. Other than that, it is a dull game.

I remember parts and boards having really bad placement (bottom of the cabinet) where they got absolutely filthy. Nothing in the head but a light.

Atari did not have the best luck with designing pinball games. Good thing Steve Ritchie got out when he did.

The Pros:
Gahdzeera and Keeeng Koohng and litesabresstesses are cool! I like the lizard with the owlface on the PF as well. That's about it. The art pax is bright and lively.

The Cons:
For a game this wide there is surprisingly little to do. Horrendously boring gameplay is... Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

The Takeaway:
Put this game next to Time 2000 and step away. Look at the pretty lights and then go do something else with your valuable time.

I used to play this at the Y all the time when I was like 11 or 12. This game had a nice playability about it and had a nice easy special feature to win a free game. I asked a pro restoration person about it and he felt that it was the best pin ataria ever produced. I would love to add this to my gameroom.
