Best pin ever made hands down.

This game is just fantastic - the moving castle, the trolls, the shots and the east to catch on game play are all just great parts of the game that all work really well together!

Super fun to play, love the shots and interactive castles. Always a game I look to play on location

By far one of if not the greatest games ever made. I would put it under Godzilla premium/LE. But this game is my absolute favorite of 90s Bally/Williams

I've loved this game for so long, but it has lost its luster recently. I don't know why, I just don't always play it, perhaps beause for so long it was the one I sought to play the most? I love the theme and call outs and it has Tina Fey from wat back! The castle destruction is always fun.

This is a game that has lasted the test of time and time again. It has a great theme. It is simple enough for amateurs and advanced enough to keep even the advanced players happy. The castle drawbridge and it blows up which is a great touch and keeps you coming back for more. It also has the fun trolls that pop out of the playfield which is fun when you get them. Usually its from the merlin drop target that brings multiple things such as the trolls, multi-ball etc. I honestly don't think there is a better themed pinball that plays to everyone than this machine.

30 Bally/Williams in before I got an MM. always hear the raves about it. Finally owning one, is it really that good? Yes, it is

Good rules, but damsel ramp is quite difficult compared other shots. Unfortunately trolls are not always working in best way (in machine that I have played) and you can't finish the game. Long game and easy to figure it out without rulesheet

I got to play this game last week at Pinball museum in LV and I see why it's so highly rated and currently carries the crown as the top-rated pinball, overall.
I had a blast playing this from the first game. It was my first time to play the pin and I was immediately hooked after destroying the castle, which isn't exactly a "high level" skill play, but it was enough to have me play several times. I'd consider myself a novice player but enjoyed this pin and hope to run across it again soon out in the wild and I'll definitely play again, several games! Loved it.

Excellent humor. Excellent lines of dialog. Very fun to hit the castle, and good extra ball chances on castle multiball.

Hilarious callouts! Lots of fun to play. Number 1 on my wishlist.

I often have this at the top of my favorites lists! It’s always given me a Monty Python vibe, without it being Holy Grail at all! The sounds in this game are my favorite thing about it…that and the toys/features.

To me, what separates this game from the pack the most is the skill required to advance and win this game. The artwork, models, and playfield design are of course terrific in this game, but that’s the case with plenty of games. Medieval Madness proves that even with the more limited technology available in the mid 90s, pinball games could be created with both great and original features (e.g. the moat and drawbridge, etc) and also be extremely challenging to the point where the player is roped in wanting to play more to achieve a rare jackpot or replay.

I generally prefer EM machines and early solid states, but Medieval Madness is an all-time classic. It's available nearly everywhere, it's not too hard for beginners and not too easy for experts, and it's a lot of fun.

Best pinball machine of all time compared to anything I have ever played. Every time I see one, I smile and think this day is going to be good. I only wish I could afford to buy one of my own.

I’ve played this game numerous times on a real life machine and on the Williams Pinball app, and it is unequivocally, in my view, one of the best pinball machines of all time.

The definition of easy to learn and hard to master, the main rules (shoot the castle) are easy enough for a four year old to understand (I have a four year old). However, destroying all six castles is a serious challenge. The trolls and easy-to-activate multiball add to the fun.

The theme is engaging and family friendly, with fun callouts inspired - I suspect - by Monty Python’s Holy Grail.

In short, I can’t imagine a better pinball machine that is more suitable for everyone, old and young.

Totally lives up to its reputation and exceeds modern Stern machines.

UPDATE: Having played MM multiple times on location, I increasingly don’t play it when there are other pins in the vicinity. There just aren’t a lot of interesting shots. It feels like it is mostly hammering the castle again and again. Watching a PAPA video, there’s more to it than that, but it doesn’t even hold up against Fish Tales in terms of interesting strategies and it certainly doesn’t compare with our GZ Prem.

Needless to say , machine is still a lot of fun even compared to new and current ones

I can destroy the castle all day long and never be bored. But the troll targets are annoying. And making the right ramp shot to save the multiple princesses is easy. The dot matrix display is fun to watch but can be distracting. Overall, the original is still fun to play. I haven’t played any of the reissued pins.

This pin is perfect. Troll popups are hilariously fun. The callouts for everything are awesome and never get tired of them. Bashing the castle is simple yet endlessly playable. Merlin's Magic adds just the right "what will I get next" element. The original feels different from the remakes, especially the castle, but plays very similar.

What more need be said? This was the first pin I ever wanted to keep playing, first replay, etc.

Pros: Too many to name, but a good condition machine is fair, has great flow, has lots of varied shots and the game generally rewards good shots and punishes bad ones. The sound/script is beyond outstanding, it's funny, clever, and immersive. The achievements are all visually enjoyable and clear, the castle destruction, trolls, damsel save...it's a blast.

Cons: The castle shot, while a good one (and thankfully doable with both flippers), can get repetitive, as you need to hit it literally dozens of times in a longer game. The flippers have to be pretty lively to get up the steeper ramps (and to avoid draining down the middle on gate shots), and the hit detection is often imperfect even on well-maintained games.

Overall, a classic, and a true top-5 all-timer
