I borrowed this game from a friend for a little over a year and eventually begged him to take it back so I could have the space back. Overall - this is a solid machine. Good to Excellent on most everything, except "Fun" for me. For whatever reason, I can't seem to play this game that well. All I can ever seem to hit consistently are the post sleeves around the ramps... and those are worth ZERO points. :) AFM has a similar layout, and I also hit the post sleeves quite often, but the theme is better and shots more satisfying.

As close to a 10 as you can play today in 2012. AC/DC might beat it.

Outstanding, great theme, great humor and I would love to own one, but will not pay the inflated price. Why buy one great pin when you can buy three. BUT, if money is no object BUY IT!

One of the all-time greats. Cool toys. My family loves the game. Visitors who know nothing about pinball love the game. I'm also a big fan, but I like AFM a bit more even though it has less bells and whistles than MM. Probably not "worth" the price, but if you want to play you'll have to pay.

MM is pretty damn popular, due in part to it's solid game play, in part to it's stellar production quality, and in large part to pinball fanatics' general love of Monty Python. No, it's not technically Holy Grail Pinball, but it might as well be. That's not a knock, because the humor is spot on all around. I've racked up many hours playing this table, trying desperately to save the kingdom, and I've never quite done it. That alone speaks to the quality of the table... that I still come back to it after so many games.

At the same time, I just don't "love" it. Part of it is my general distaste for the "ton of damn ramp shots" school of table layout. I like tables with a more complicated flow ("Black Hole", "Sorceror") than just a bunch of ramp shots at varying angles from the bottom flippers. I must admit that no table has perfected this style as well as MM. A big part of this table's appeal is that every single ramp shot triggers some kind of rewarding sound and light show. Even if you haven't the slightest idea how to play, you feel like you're accomplishing something every time you do anything. It's hard to imagine anyone flat-out not enjoying this table. That said, I wouldn't pay anywhere near the amount it's going for. It's good, but it's not the Mona Lisa, people.

It is overvalued.

This was the first pinball machine I ever played regularly, so it will always have a special place in my heart. At the prices it commands, I seriously doubt I will ever own one, but I never pass up a chance to play when I see one on location. The theme and sound effects are hilarious, I can't even imagine how many times I have played this game, and I never get tired of it. The shots in general are not too hard, but you will need a lot of perseverance to make it all the way to Battle for the Kingdom. Such a fun, addictive game.

It's fun the first few times destroying the castles and defeating the King of Pain, but eventually it gets quite repetitive. Hit drawbridge, lower drawbridge, shoot castle, repeat. The dragon, wizard, and even the troll seem a bit of afterthoughts. Speech is good and funny in a Monty Python-ish way, but tends to get old as well. An over-rated pin that people think is awesome when they first play it, but gets old fast.

My Favorite game. Great theme, executed perfectly. A game that is easy to play, but takes time to master. Neat toys with the castle and trolls. Several different multi-ball modes. I like the funny medieval call outs. It's an all around good game.

Played this a few times, and it is fun, but also can't live up to the hype the way TZ or AF can.

What is there to say that hasn't already been said? This game is fantastic!

My only negative:
I don't find the castle toy to be that cool. I LOVE the shots, but the castle blowing up doesn't really do it for me.

Some games in the top 100 are pretty overrated, in my opinion. Medieval Madness, however, isn't one of them. This game is pretty much universally loved. I'm trying to think of a legitimate criticism of it, and I'm drawing a blank. It's the complete package, and even though I've played it a thousand times, it still manages to make me smile and laugh every single time. An absolute blast of a game.

After all the hype, I finally got to spend some time with MM. I'll get right to it - this is the most fun I have ever had playing a pin! Now I understand why it is in such demand. I think the castle is the best toy in all of pinball. It would be on my buy list except for the high prices it fetches now.

How many times can you destroy the castle in a game soon becomes how many times can you destroy the castle on each ball. A nice looking game with some great callouts but as some players will admit, kinda easy. Just like some people who like to be seen with a model, if you want eye-candy hanging off your arm, here ya go.
