Surprisingly interesting, if simple, layout. Clearing the blue drops is genuinely challenging. Saving with the react flipper is fairly consistent once you get the timing and feels really good. Like most Zacs, the art design is gorgeous and it's a unique overall package.

Such a simple addictive game! Easy to understand but challenging. Totally has that one more game feeling after you drain ball 3. The art work is superb and vibrant.

Love this game!
Magic Castle is a beautiful machine with vibrant artwork all around. The sounds on a zaccaria gen2 are very weird compared to any other american made game; very eerie on this game in particular.
The gameplay on this can be very fast when you have strong flipper and a smooth playfield. The rules are simple enough to understand: hit the blue targets to advance toward the red special and orange ones to advance the orange special.
I'm still not sure why they put an 8 digit display in this game; because there is no way I'll ever get that 8th one to display anything but Zero.
The one bad thing I have to say about Zac's is the parts availability. Just about everything on this game is unobtainium! If you're ever looking to buy one, make sure it has all its parts!

Zaccaria games have a look and feel all of their own to them. Fortunately, this look and feel is a great one and this is a good example of what they can do.

The Pros:
A creative layout with tight shots to the ramp and the upper orbit. Lots of drops and a 3d bg WITH animated doors to let you know you hit the ramp. The reflex flipper on the right requires skill and adds to your strategy (gotta keep that flipper lit! So hit those drop banks). 12 drops including the freestanding orange target mean your sharpshooting skills need to be on point. The 3rd upper PF flipper is placed perfectly for drops and the upper orbit. Great action by the inlanes and outlanes.

The Cons:
These machines do not seem to be the most reliable. Finding parts can be a real PITA.

The Takeaway:
A great game for a home collection for someone who can repair a game that has manuals written in Italian (english manual provided on the ipdb.org). A great game with lots of shots and choices to make. "Count Zaccula awaits!"

Another quality machine from the Big Z. Great backglass, but that vampire animation is a little cheesy.

A fairly simple but fun game from Zac. The sounds are cool. The mechanical doors on the castle in the backglass open to reveal the vampire when you make the ramp shot, 'blaaaahhh!'. It got a few laughs. Overall an attractive spooky game if you can find one.
