My work partner and I had to work 3 hours away from home, where from Melbourne Australia, and we were working in a place called shepperton,we wernt looking forward to it,coz when your out of town u tend to drink more than you should to kill the bordem, and that makes work that bit harder,so after day 1 we showered up and hit the pub for dinner, definatly not expecting much action at all,coz shepperton is smaller than melbourne, and not all that much going on,but a very nice place to say the least,so my mate goes to the toilet comes back and says theres a lord of the rings pinnie in the next room,ad my eyes lit up and said,''thats us man..'happy to play any pinnie whats so ever, coz im not into pool or putting bets on the horses or greyhounds, and thats our options, let alone to have a lord of the rings just collecting dust in the corner of the next room, never played it before so i was stoked, had a look at this thing and we were both amazed at appearence, and it was a little banged up with some broken characters but we wernt complaining!!!put ou money in and OMG it was on,the sound was that good it felt like we were in the movie, from then we were hooked,we didnt really no what to do but we figured what hit balrog means, get all the characters to get multiball and maybe one or two other things, the beers were flowing,it was great we were totally hooked on the game reving eaach other up,when that multiball hits and those lights start flashing u know your in for something special, the whole walk home all we were doing is talking about the game, saying quotes like 'welcome, welcome" and 500 hundred souls...so when we got back to the hotel room i jumped on pinside to share on the forum how amazed we were at this game, and a few pinsiders wrote back from the states saying they had the same experiance ,so i showed my work mate what all the pin heads from around the globe thought of the thread and he was tripping, because he hasent plyed pinball in ages and his not obsessed by them, but i knew he was hooked on this one.So the next night was our final night there so obviously went back to the same pub to start off,so we can pay our new precious the respect she deserves, asking the bar staff if it gets played much, and they were saying it barely gets touched,we were shocked and felt sorry for it coz this was now our new best friend,so we hit the beers lots of them,we didnt hve to work the next day so went all out,we put that much money it the manager was throwing a few bux in it,so we can have a few free games on the pub, which was nice,so we were pretty drunk by this stage and the bar was closing so we were asking if we could buy the thing and take it with us back to melbs, gave a few offers but they couldnt do it coz it was leased,so no dice, dont want to know how much money we pumped into that babby over the 2 days we were there, but it was all worth it,when we left the next day and drove past the pub,we were both thinking and saying how that poor machine might not be used for awhile, coz not everybodys into pin, since then every time where at work and pass an arcade and play some other machines we always walk away saying "its no precious" even if i play other games and go to work and talk about it still no precious,I still find myself saying the call outs in my head, going to shepperton has changed what i knew about pinball, ive always liked it,but this machine was on another level i know now the differnce between a and b grade games,I only have one pinball machine and this lord of the ringd just tears shreads off it..I have made it a goal of mine to save some coin and by the end of the year to purchase "my precious"because thi game definatly had and still has left a massive impression on me....just love my precious...thanx for taking the time to read my storry about my lord of the rings experiance, not really into writing stories but had to share this one...cheers whisp....

Great story. LOTR is my favorite pin. I am a huge fan of the movie so that has some to do with it but it is a great playing pin. I hope one day to be able to add one to my collection. Thanks for the story.

Great story. As you can see from my name I'm obviously a huge fan of the game. I finally got one a few years ago and it's never leaving. I hope you are able to acquire "your precious" eventually and give it the attention it deserves!
