This game is a very cool game. The music during the mode there and back again is really cool. The callouts are awesome in my opinion. My personal favorite callouts are the ones by Gandalf. Destroy the ring is very fun mode and satisfying to complete. The rule set is very deep and theme integration is top notch in this game.

I love this game. One of the forever greats. It's hard to argue anything wrong with it esp. For the time.

You can't go wrong with Lord of the Rings. The game isn't perfect, but it's really good. Probably my #3 game ever. The path of the dead could have been better or eliminated and it needs a better toy. The rules and depth of this game is where it shines. All the modes are different and using the inserts the game lets you know how to complete the mode. Reaching Valinor is so hard that I don't know if those stars will ever align.

I think this is Stern's best game ever.

Finally got a chance to play this at a pinball convention and it was a lot of fun. I am a big fan of the movies and the theme is integrated well. Game play is good with little tendency to side drain. Multiple modes keep it interesting along with just enough challenging shots. I hope Stern considers a re-release with a large LCD and movie footage.

Such a great game, good rules, gets you feeling like you're in the world. It was made too early. Could have benefited from the newer screen options, but still a classic.

It is not the prettiest playfield art, other than that it is almost perfect on all other pinside rating categories
. Fun to play, hard to master and fun to play every time.

I think the sound is its weakest part... Game is ok fun, but doesn't suck me in

What an all around fun game. Extremely deep code yet simple enough for someone to walk up to the game and put up a fun and exciting game. It definitely offers something for everyone, i was skeptical on getting this one that it would not live up to the hype but boy does it deliver. Definitely a game i will be putting a color DMD in. This one will last awhile.

Long ball times but game has a ton of modes and interesting things to do in order to advance. The more I play, the more I enjoy this game.

Great game to mod up as well.

One of the oldest pins in our collection. We will never sell it. It is probably one of the greatest pins I have ever played. Incredibly deep, awesome shots and a thrill to play. This is a must add to any collection.

I love LOTR, it is my first home use pinball I purchased. The game is fun and challenging. There is a lot to this game and it does a great job of turning the movies into a Pinball game. You go through the 3 movies, as well as multiple side quests. The sounds are good, with the actors from the movie voicing many of the sound effects. The coolest thing is you get to flight a Balrog ;)

I got lucky that I bought this game new in box based on the theme only, never had played it before. It has been in my home ever since 2004 and I love it. It is so much fun to play. I have other machines come and go, but have held onto this one. The ramps are smooth, the game is easy to understand, yet still challenging enough to stay interesting. The multi balls are fantastic. And the call outs and sounds recorded for the game take it over the top. The artwork could be better, but it’s Middle Earth, so it matches the setting.

While an expensive game, this game stays in the collection because it's theme and overall challenge and fun factor. It has a great bash toy and center magnetic ring shot as well as a deep ruleset. It can have long ball times, but that's ok when it's fun and challenging. I love the sounds and callouts. A great game to tweak and mod, looks a lot better with LEDs, but I had to rate the dull playfield lower. Really great pops.

I finally found one of these to play and boy did it deliver. I had high expectations and this still topped them. Plenty of cool playfield features, lots of shots, and just an overall really cool playing experience.

When first played this pin I was excited to see what all the fuss was about and wow I was not disappointed. This game draws you into the adventure and make you want to play it over and over. It’s challenging fun, and if your a fan of the books or movies there enough to keep you entertained. It’s a beautiful designed pin with plenty of toys and great lighting for the theme of this. In my opinion LOTR hit a definite home run, which will keep you coming back for more.

I know im alone on this one, but this machine just didnt do it for me. Maybe I was playing it wrong or something. I just feel like the movies where amazing and the pinball just didnt live up. I think they could have done soooooo much cooler stuff with the look and feel and could of come up with some really cool features and gimmicks.

A pizzeria here in La Habra recently acquired one and all of a sudden I find myself eating a lot more pizza. Very fun to play despite repetitive sound effects and audio.

Top tier game that is hampered a bit ny bad photoshop art and some clunky features. I love the theme and theme integration. Decent flow though certainly not Gomez’ best. Balrog Bash toy is a bit awkward, as is the Path of the Dead. Ring magnet toy is fantastic as long as the flipper has enough power to make the shot which often requires upgrading the flipper coils. Rules are epic and I hope some day I can own this machine and give it a proper run.

Great Game! Some people think that the balls last too long but I feel it is necessary if you are going to have any chance of completing the objectives.
