I recommend this game highly for anyone who just wants to play and have fun! The game is simple enough, and it is basically a beat your best score type of game.. you do not have to THINK or learn what you need to do, it is very simple, and a NICE example plays fast and has a lot of good flow, good sounds and anyone can play and enjoy it.. It is still around for 1K, which is amazing.. condition of course, location etc.. can make a difference on the price.. overall if you want a fast fun game without a bunch of learning what you have to do, LW3 is great!

LW3 is definitely a players game. No real gimmicks or toys just a lot of shots. That said, it is a fun machine to play and I would say under-appreciated. The choose your music at the beginning of the game is novel and the stereo offered by DE machines can be heard to the discerning ear. Shooting 1,2,3 and the accompanying video's are enjoyable to watch(shoot the gun when the eyes flash). The orbit and the drawing the gun to "shoot the bad guy" keeps you on your toes. The DMD is used quiet extensively and ties the game together. The video mode is fun as well, just don't shoot the guy holding the flower :-) The jackpot tune and bass-y sounds that come with it are among my favorites. Although a not a "deep" game, there is plenty to do and is just plain fun to play.

Mediocre. I played it at a pizza place a few times and felt that it was too shallow. Multiball is fun and getting the 4x jackpot is a true challenge. The modes are laughably easy, with a simple timed gun shot to complete each one. The left ramp is useless outside of the jackpot and lighting extra ball. The sounds and callouts are repetitive and tinny (e.g. if I hear one more OK OK OK, I will lose my mind). It's not Rocky and Bullwinkle bad, but still pretty bad.

Would never own, but I suppose it's fun for an occasional play.

Lethal Weapon 3 is an entry-level DMD game from DataEast. that pretty much sums it up and tells you everything there is to know about the game.

entry-level: they don't come much cheaper for DMD games, and there is usually a reason for this. it's a DE, so it has its quirks and foibles, but is basically a fun title. but it gets old pretty fast, and you soon find yourslef looking for something else instead. so these are always available, and there were plenty made, so they stay at the bottom of the price range. still going up, but then everything is.

the soundbite 'OK, OK, OK' gets a bit annoying, and the feature where you have to let go of the right flipper button in order to grab the gun and fire is frankly just frustrating rather than clever.

but it's not that bad. i'd happily empty my pockets into it and play it for hours if i saw one on location without other choices available. it's just that some pinball machines are better.

another game i wanted to like but just never could get into, felt very repetitive and the sound quality was poor. It was one of my first couple pins and left without really playing it that much.

A fun pin and a value buy for someone looking to start in the hobby. Lethal Weapon doesn't really have the staying power of other brands, but it works. The trigger pulling during mini-games and following orbits provides an extra challenge. The scores progress well. I find that this pin has quick ball times, which can be both good or bad.

Spent some time on this game recently and enjoyed it much more than I did originally when playing one at a show. Good shot geometry. I wish there was a way to stop the animations, but this machine had a good layout.

Great value for money. Underrated in my opinion. Recently had a pinball party and this was the most popular with new players. Simple rules, not deep just fun.

Not the build quality of a Bally/Williams game, but a great game for the price. I enjoy the amount a player has to use the gun in the game.

Pros - Cheap DMD game to purchase
-Fun game
-Easy rules for new players
-Choice of music to play to

Cons-
Leo can get to you after awhile

As much as this game has going for it, I got bored of it within a month of owning it. It was my first DMD and I liked the combo of using the gun and trying to keep the ball alive but there just wasn't enough there to keep me coming back. "Ok ok ok ok" wasn't as bad as other make it out to be and never bothered me. The backglass on the other hand was a bit obnoxious.

Very fast shooting game. The ramp shot is addictive and scores big points. Double jackpots and victory laps all day!

Not horrible gameplay (though not good gameplay either). This one started out as a bad theme, and it ended up as a bad theme with no longevity.

Love this game, can play it for hours. Easy enough for the whole family to enjoy, but still can show off your skills.

Good data East title...The backglass I feel could of been better on this title. I also feel this game gets repetitive and think it could of been designed better.

I love this one. Played this a lot when it first came out. For an early DMD, this is a great title. Light display is great, even better with an LED kit installed. The rules are straight forward, and it's not as deep as modern titles. Shots are usually easy to make, and the ramps are always fun to hit.

My two complaints about this game, are the cabinet art package, and the video mode when shooting the bad guy with the ball still in play. Very minor to be sure, but it's a blast to play. This is easily one of my most played games.

I feel that once again this is underrated because of it being a DE. It basically has the layout of T2 which is much higher rated.

I like this better than JP IMHO. The modes are fun, especially the various video modes. It has all three movies included. The choice of songs at the start is a nice addition which was quite new at the time. Even though it's a movie most kids won't know much about, boys can get into it with the guns, cop sounds, flashing topper. I love having it in my collection an with LED's it isn't bad.

Cons: Leo Getz call outs. I don't even notice them anymore so it's not a huge deal. The blue cabinet is ugly, black would be much better.

Overall: A good budget pin that can get old on its own but good in a collection.

A good entry level pin. If it is next to some Bally Williams games, it will get no play. Gets old really quick. Still a solid pin that is fun. The stunt animations are really cool. If you like Lethal Weapon you will like this pin. Just not a keeper.

Good- Good fun game, like the option of choosing music and the selection offered. ramp is well placed. multiball is a little easy. Like the theme and the execution, artwork is good, video modes are fun....very hands on, topper is clever.

Bad- Center drop targets can shoot ball into air, too much gun reliance during actual play..its very annoying having to grab the gun while your ball is still in play. no ball save...don't know what DE were thinking letting this and star wars leave the factory with poorly programmed ball saves. leo getz with the ok ok gets annoying.

*Shoot ball in, hits targets (skill shot) then drains SDTM.....no ball back!!

Somewhat of a fun pin, although the Joe Pesci callouts get annoying real quick.

cool how you can pick what music you want to play to at the start of the game,i think it has cool ramps, but like most data east games ive played, its a clanga, meaning its abit like a rusty gate compared to the other brands, but it is fun, make good for a first pin,but like everything you will get over it....but its not as bad as the hype...
