It sure is nice to look at but man does it not play well. Make the spinner shot to get to the pop bumper and it often rolls straight back down the drain. The rollovers are not fun to shoot at and the bonus multiplier is only for the last ball which makes it a one-ball game. There is a nice kickback and gate to return the ball to the plunger but over all it feels like a design that was never completed.

I was able to play this machine at the Pinball Expo in Sydney Nov 2014. Interesting add a ball which rarely saw the light of day in Australia. The theme along with the backglass & playfield graphics are quite attractive. Unfortunately game play is pretty limited although a left lower lane kickback and right lower lane gate return are a couple of features which draw one to the machine. Not a keeper but certainly an enjoyable 'one night stand'.

As other reviewers have noted, Jungle King has very few good shots, but they are tough shots! Jungle King is an add-a-ball game, so you're not trying to win replays, you're trying to prolong the game and build your score higher.

There are ten roll-over targets to hit, five on each side. Hitting all five targets in one shot is indeed possible, but it requires a perfect shot. Once all ten targets have been hit, the WOWs are lit. Hitting a lit WOW adds a ball to the balls to play meter, and you can win up to 10 balls. The WOW shots are tricky, missing the stand-up targets can send the ball coming back between the flippers.

It's a different kind of pin. It's a finesse pin. Interestingly enough, when you complete the last of the targets, invariably the ball heads for the gap between the flippers. So far, I have achieved getting several extra balls, but to date, haven't made it to 10 balls to play yet.

Jungle Life and the variants of this design... The play leaves much to be desired.

The Pros:
The BG is HILARIOUS! All of those animals with their tongues sticking out. The look on Cheeta's face as well as Tarzan's is comic genius! Our fair maiden in the pith helmet is completely clueless making the stereotype even funnier. The colors on this table are fantastic and everything looks great.

The Pros:
There are 3 shots on this table. The orbits and the spinner. That's it. The special lanes on the sides are purely made by chance. This may possibly the worst playing Gottleib from the early 70's.

The Takeaway:
Take a look to admire the art package and keep on walking.

This is an all-or-nothing machine! There are basically only 3 shots that make any sense. And they are 3 TOUGH shots! So if you're a novice, this machine will eat you alive! However, if you are a 'Wizard', once you get the shots zeroed in, you can tear it up, and it will become kind of boring!
