definately a memorable machine (even if you don't care for it)

This is one of those machines that leaves an impression.

In fact, it's all because I still had fond memories of playing one in Naperville, IL back in the early 80's that I made the trip from Detroit, Michigan to a rural little town in New Hampshire (a 31-hour round trip adventure) to pick up my first pinball machine (and eventually what would become the first of 3 Joust machines that I've owned to date).

And while many people many not think of the gameplay as deep (definately not goal oriented like newer titles from the 90's and newer), there is enough to draw the player in and keep them coming back for more.

Add in a second player (at the same time!), and everything changes as you try to keep all of the balls currently in play on your half of the playfield, racking up points while your opponent can do nothing but watch. Nothing is more satifying than scoring a set of the 3-bank drop downs to reset your opponent's progress, especially if they were working on a 250K egg bonus set :)

Finally, top it off with the 30 second unlimited 4-ball multiball mode in a mad scramble to accumulate enough points to eek out your rival!

Head to head is great in this game. It could even better when I tried to stop hitting the balls onto the other players side...whoops!

I never heard of it. I checked it out on Utube. Looks fun w/ 2 players.

First I've heard of this pin. I'll check it out. Thanks!
