Could this be the one? Frankly, MM should be re evaluated now by all who have played the new tables that have raised the bar a bit.
I enjoyed playing IM and went away feeling this was a knock out of the Park machine in every aspect.

I got a chance last week to spend a couple hours playing the Pro Model. In the spirit of full disclosure, I've been a giant Maiden fan since the Killers record, so the theme and music get an automatic 6 of 6, and the art quality and detail is great on this one, so there's a 3rd easy 6.

Moving to gameplay, very happy with the layout and ruleset. Lots to shoot, good rules and direction, and like the small flipper up top.

I gave it a 5/6 on lastability only cause I don't have enough trigger time on it to make a final call.

In sum, I think Stern knocked it out of the park on this one. The theme and basics will draw in the casual player, and the shots and rules will make the hardcore happy. Looking forward to seeing the Premium!

PROS: Beautiful, colorful playfield, reminiscent of "Metallica" and "Aerosmith". The game is fast and flows beautifully, despite it only being a series of ramps. The variety of shots and skill required to make them provides for a good gaming experience. Nice old school feel. The game sometimes feels like "Sorcerer" and "Gorgar" on steroids, especially with the addition of the two extra flippers up top. Pretty cool. The lighting is your usual modern Stern flair which isn't a bad thing at all. Light shows are excellent and they work in conjunction with the theme and audio.

CONS: Everything else. I'm not a fan of Iron Maiden. I never was. And I'm a child of the 80's. I'm not actually a huge fan of Metallica or Aerosmith or KISS either. But I would listen to those last three in a heartbeat if it was between them and Iron Maiden and I'd choose their tables over this one any day of the week. So, right off the bat, the audio is just a turn-off. Secondly, I might be in the minority but I don't need PS4-level graphics on a video screen. It's a pinball machine, not a slot machine. It comes across as extremely tacky, especially the whole weird "mummy/WW2 dogfight" hybrid theme it's displaying. I thought the awful Scooby-Doo-esque visuals on "Aerosmith" were terrible. This is something worse. Lastly, it feels awfully cookie cutter in that it features almost the same ramp layouts as all their other rock tables. At least "Aerosmith" and "AC/DC" had their toys and gimmicks to differentiate. This is just two ramps and not much else. There's a feeling that without any real "identity" past the A/V or the playfield, this pretty much could be anything with a quick re-code and fresh coat of paint. You can't say that about "Ghostbusters" or "Aerosmith", for example.

Overall, this is just another Stern rock table. Will continue to play it if I see it but would never own.

Stern seems to be finding their way back to making fun pinball games after THE DISASTER THAT IS GHOSTBUSTERS PRO. I had the chance to play some games on the Pro version last week and had some fun. This is a well designed game with some really good playfield action, a rule-set that doesn't require a PhD to figure out, some challenging shots and a nice feature set. Stern even took a queue from Jersey Jack with a fourth mini flipper on the upper playfield for some additional challenging shots... nice touch. This one also has some nice odes to the new Kiss and Metallica (like the "heavy" metal ramps, etc.) that add to the fun. I'm guessing the LE and premium's will have better toys, but this game is a lot of fun to play until those come out.

Iron Maiden really is an outstanding pin, rules are great, modes all feel unique, callouts are fantastic as are the animations and art. Best of all the layout shoots extremely well. The music may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it really suits pinball; and the game is just so much damn fun it doesn't matter!

Great layout with some nice new shots. Nice looking art and good sound quality although Maiden not my cup of tea for music.

Fun machine and will play frequently on location!

As you will see in some comments above, I will preface this by saying I love Iron Maiden and have been following them since the early 1980's. So when the game was announced I could not get to the phone quickly enough to pre-order. But I had a chance to play it for an extended period of time at the Midwest Gaming Classic (several hours) and then again at a couple different pin halls. I was disappointed.

The theme is great. The screen is wonderful. The music is good. But the game play is honestly lacking. It is a loop machine and I love loops but the shots are very basic. It is a machine that if you simply keep the ball alive, you will score well. The center "jump," ramp is an automatic for players of any skill level and because of this (on a separate note) I really question its durability. It takes a serious beating and I have already seen one pushed crooked. Stern also went cheap on many aspects. Yes, I know...they want people to invest the extra bucks and get the LE edition. But the cheap plastics of Eddie around the playfield are an automatic turn-off. One of my friends at an arcade with me (also a Maiden fan but not a pinhead) walked up and immediately said. "What's with the cheap Eddie plastics? They should be figures." The first time my wife played it she also commented on the plastics and also said the machine was "very easy."

So while I wanted so much to like this machine, it is not worth the investment. I cancelled my preorder because in my modest collection; (7 machines) I could not pick one that I would trade for the Maiden. Very sad...

I just LOVE this game! The repeatable loop shots and sweepable drop targets just make my day! And isn't it nice to see pop bumpers that actually do something? And having two spinners is just icing on the cake! Definitely the best Stern to come out in the past 10 years!

This game is just plain out fun. I have not enjoyed a game this much after just playing a few games since Metallica. The music is great, animations are awesome, and the shots are challenging but fun. Plenty of multiball opportunities as well. Great game.

I bought the pro, got it and was really pleased with the look of the cabinet and back glass. The build quality was sub par to be kind! The plunger rod was bent and could barley get the ball halfway around the loop. It was waaaay to heavy on up the middle shots for my taste. Music is great and the band rocks. I just did not really like the game and sold it taking a fairly large loss after a few weeks..I will just stick to J.J.P and classic Bally Williams.

Finally a heavy metal pin for the ages

This pin is unbelievable. The upper flippers are always in play so the experience is really unique

What can you say about this pin... except that its well thought up. A real players pin. Great to see Keith Elwin put a lot of flow in this game. No toys on this pin, but thats just what keeps the flow going. The shots are great and diverse. Lots of speed, ramps, spinners, pops, targets to hit. Great sounds, good voiceovers and a cracking maiden score. Good lighting and show... great artwork and a real dedication to maiden and eddie by zombie yeti. Nice software coding and visuals on the screen. Being also a 35+ year maiden fan... its a dream come through...

Update....
Playing the Maiden a week in now, and there is no way to change my previous comment. This is truly a player's pin. This one is damn fast en furious. Great shots... flow and fun. Getting you pumped when you hit consecutive shots. Ramps are not the easiest to hit. Modes are well balanced and fun. Racking up points is challenging. Call outs and graphics are well done, i dont understand those who complain about it. Code update to 0.98 was super wel done, cant wait to update once again. Great Job Stern and Keith.

I've owned the game for about a week now, so I may alter or amend this as I log some more time on it and get a better feel for it.
That said, I've played it everyday since we brought it in the house.

The game is a lot of fun and supper addicting.
I really love the game and definitely think its a keeper.
We've got a pretty solid line up of pins and this one is up there for me.

My biggest gripes would be about the quality of production which is probably more a gripe with new Sterns than anything else.
Im a big fan of 90s pins which seem to be a better quality build.
It just feels more flimsy than older pins.
Stern also needs to do something with the way they are finishing their play fields.
The play field started dimpling almost immediately and it will be interesting to see how it withstands the test of time.
When I asked a couple of my friends about the play field dimpling the answer I got was "thats moderns Sterns for ya".
One thing that for certain is a contributor to this is the Trooper multi ball.
It sends all the balls in a straight line heading for the flippers and when you hit the lead ball it sends the rest flying.
About 1/3 of the time it hits so hard that a ball pops up and hits the glass.
Its literally like dropping a pinball right onto the playfield.

Also, the Eddie figures on the pro model look cheap like shrinky dinks.

Love the game, just wish Stern would address whatever it is that causes the play field to dimple so much.
All BS asside, I love the game and i'm supper stoked with it.
Really glad we picked this up.

Fun game with great audio! Stern did a great job with this one! Shots feel great rules are such that a casual player intermediate player (me) or expert player have enough to keep them coming back for more... I really like this game and think it will stand the test of time

A merging of various shots from other games at unique angles from twilight zone upper midget flippers similar orbits of swords of fury and judge dredd upper to through pops shots of Aerosmith and Addams family I’m an underground musician and the tunes here keep the play alive has made a maiden fan outta me with possibility to rip its music out and install my own tunes one day good luck finding the extra special wizard mode after taking down the beast

One of the better Stern’s I’ve played in some time. The rules are fantastic, the spinners rip and have real purpose, and four flippers create a paradise where you string together a run of loops with shots to the Sphinx and mummy creating longer multiball runs. I’m a little concerned the ball times are too long? (.98 code)
Outstanding layout, the debate on this title will most likely be about preferences around pf toys and music. Elwin’s got a good Stern debut, and the pro version brings his vision to life at a good price point.

This is a great looking pin for sure. I also like the gameplay because I like the pins that I can keep a game going on. It also has a lot of multi balls, which keeps up the fun factor. I just with there was one cool big toy. Otherwise, this is a really great pin.

Played the Pro for a good 3 or 4 hours.....

PROS
I found the game play, variety of shots and geometry on this game to be fantastic... the ball flows consistently from ramps, lanes and orbits amazingly well.

CONS
Animations and callouts a little average.

Not a fan of the music but could grow to like it more over time.

Build quality seemed a little iffy with the game feeling very light plus think sound quality could be better.

VERDICT

The flow and gameplay make this a game I would buy so it's in the queue on my wish list but behind Metalica.

I had a chance to play this machine at Zapcon in Mesa AZ. I was actually impressed with the game and wish I had more time to play it. I also liked the way the flipper combos were setup at the top of the playfield. I cant say much for the sound because it was loud in there but Im sure it was top notch.

Like many have said, this game's layout is really well thought out and is flowy fun. Even if the band is not one of your faves, it's damn good pinball music.

I don't usually go for rock/music pins, and I'm not a huge Iron Maiden fan, but this game transcends all of that. Super fun! The design is refreshingly different, with lots of interesting shots and a different rhythm to play than what we've seen over the years.

It's almost as if one of the world's best players decided to design a game! ;)
