This game is probably going to be very subjective. So while I love the art and dark nature, I am sure folks will hate it. But for me its a huge winner. The music is perfect for pinball. Pure Adrenaline!! And like art I find different shot layouts for different folks, again for me its like I am wearing magic pinball gloves when I play this game. Just shoots perfectly and stuff everywhere to go for that all lines up. Ramps, loops and targets. Its as close to perfect for me as there is. Never thought Metallica would be outdone but this game does it.

I have a nearby arcade with 90+ pins. I find myself continually coming back to this machine. I do like the band Iron Maiden but I am not a huge fan or anything.
The ramps are very satisfying to hit and callouts and music are great. The overall theme works really well for pinball. The lighting and animations are great during the various multiballs and missions. I am a novice pinball player but have put quite a few games on all the modern sterns. The only one in the same ballpark for me so far is GZ.

Game is incredible. Only downside is that that there really aren’t any toys if you are into toys. But this is one of the best out there in my opinion.

IM is where I first became a Keith Elwin fan. Like a lot of others out there I'm sure. Although at first, I wasn't a fan of the centre playfield shot layout. I had been playing a lot of centre/ish bash toy games leading up to my first IM encounter. I was a little caught off guard, before learning to really enjoy its layouts differences. This is a fun game. And you can get some really nice ball times, even if your not a great player like me, as long as you can make a save or 2. It's just enjoyable.
And, I also quickly began enjoying the upper flippers on this game. Their use came more naturally on IM. This isn't something that happens all that often for me. Sure, there are games where I've learnt to enjoy using upper flippers before. It's more the immediate ease of use, and the satisfaction of hitting their shots.
And let's not forget the theme. As a metalhead, IM is squarely in my headspace. And I'm a sucker for a well done music pin as well. Which this is, done well I mean. When I first saw IM on a weekly music show, it introduced me to something that's stayed with me ever since. I enjoy Maidens music, and I was able to do that in more than a jukebox way here. The artwork on the cabinet and backglass on the Premium are gorgeous. IM and Egyptian theme goes hand in hand. Maiden have used Eddie in their artwork since his inception and he looks great here. The IM aesthetic has translated well to pinball.
There are more than enough modes and multiballs to shoot for on IM's layout. In which the variety of shots you need to hit to make them, is excellent. None of that "control ball, repeat shot" gameplay here. In fact that might have been nice at times when I was struggling to get the ball under control. But that's more my issue. Elwins shot flow was born here. And it does. Flow I mean. Hitting combos and creating that flow is fun to. With really satisfying shots. Fun shots and fun flow. Sounds like a winner, yes?

One of the best pinball machines out there. The playfield is just loaded with interesting shots. Some are easy, some are difficult so all skill levels can have fun. There is always something going on. Godzilla is the most professionally designed game ever, but I think I have more fun on this, with a little simpler rules and with this awesome music. Although I dont really like the animations, they are a bit too much bestial to be fun.

This was slow to grow on me as I was never an big fan of IM growing up. I do realize they have quite a big following, but I never imagined I would have been such a big fan of the pin. This has to be my favorite of the Elwin games. I am regretul that I did not pick one up two years ago! The venue I sometimes go play pins no longer has it, and I missed it so much we put a deposit down for the May produciton run. I hope we end getting it. My only complaint is the lower left side of the playfield I find a little awkward and i seem to get a little jumbled up on flow. I love the loops, great fun and addicting. Cool videos. I tend to have long ball times on this game which is great fun for me. I'm just an average guy who loves to play pinball, and I can't always explain specifics of what I love about a certain pinball. But I love this one. My first impression was that the playfield was bare and needed more "stuff", but I no longer feel that way after a lot more play time. I appreciate that you can love the pinball, appreciate the band/music without being a big fan of the band...great theme integration in my opinion.

All my reviews are going to follow a simple formula for those reading.
Number of shots to make - Pro's - Con's - Must Have Mods - What To Look For When Buying

Number of shots - 11 - very high

Pro's:
* Ball paths and shots are fairly unique
* Multi target on the backboard a great idea
* Rule integration and code is top notch, very deep
* Loop shot is dangerous but damn fun to hit over and over
* Love the variety in skill shots

Cons:
* Short dead end shot from upper flipper somewhat unsatisfying
* If you love a central bash toy this isn’t for you
* Can be very brutal and shots from the 2 upper flippers can lead to quick drains

Must Have Mods: (Note I will not include things like LED's, Color DMD, Invisiglass or Speaker Upgrades unless it's really badly needed)
* Lior Orb figure a huge improvement
* Wiz Mod door magnet matches premium artwork brilliantly
* Stern art blades look great
* Eddie shooter rod fits well
* Tilt topper Egypt style for the premium
* Egyptian flipper toppers a nice addition

What To Look For When Buying
* Sarcophagus lock works as it should
* Ramp flap works well and doesn’t “stick”
* Autoplunger consistently shoots the ball around the loop

SO much fun. Love the music, my buddy has the Premium and we have been moding the hell out of it. Love playing the game Keith Elwin is the man! that's all I have to say. If you haven't played 1 of his games (Iron Maiden, Jurassic Park, Avengers: Infinity Quest, Godzilla and James Bond 007 (60th Anniversary LE)) you need 2! I've played them all with exception to the new James Bond as of the writing of this has not been released yet. His designs are awesome and flow well.

This is a surprisingly great game. I am not big on the theme, but the fun level is off the charts. Animations and art are beautiful and really make the gameplay a unique pinball experience. Not in my top 10, but absolutely a top shelf game. With a different theme, for me this would be a must own. Overall, it meets the hype!

Top 5 machine for me (along with Godzilla and a couple of others). Fast. Music and theme integration is spot on.
If there is one around, I am playing it for sure. Love this machine.

I’ve owned this pin for about a year and it’s really surprised me how much I like it. I find myself playing it more then Godzilla right next to it. I am not a Iron Maiden fan, but the theming and music really work with pinball. I like that it’s a music pin but isn’t themed with pictures of musicians….it’s got a cohesive story. The game doesn’t have a bunch of toys to draw you in, but it shoots so well and the rules are deep but easy to follow.

I traded my Iron Maiden pro for a premium. WOW. As with most pins, the premium makes a HUGE difference in my opinion. The shots feel even better on the premium, and the pro is a pretty good shooter in itself but the premium is fantastic. I am NOT an Iron Maiden fan, but I am an Elwin fan so I had to get IM in my home and spend some quality time with it. Once I played the pro I knew I had to have a premium. The theme is a real turn off for me. I'm modding out my premium with all Egyptian stuff and making the appearance more palatable for me. The music is growing on me. There is a reason this pin is in the top 10. My rating reflects the terrible theme. If this game could be re-themed, it would definitely be around 8.7 in my opinion. UPDATE 3 25 23 - OK, so...I NEVER thought this pin would last so long in my small collection of pins, and something has to go to make room for new pins, but, not Iron Maiden, not YET. I've got the GUS mod on order that I've been waiting a long time for, that is sure to improve game play even MORE. The thing about this pin is every time I play it, I want just ONE more game, again and again. It's actually freakin brilliant although I cannot put my finger on exactly why. So many things about this pin just feel right. I absolutely suck at playing it by the way...I keep it at my vacation home, and when I'm there, I could play it endlessly. It's almost the perfect pin for a one pin lineup. Hard enough to keep you coming back, feels so good and right when you make the ramps and shots. Fast. Sometimes smooth. I've grown to like Eddie, modded out with Eddies that are less scary and more fun. Now if we could just get rid of the beast we might be getting somewhere. The music is good...and gets better. Hard to overcome the scary factor of this pin though. I went to great lengths to sanitize mine with Egyptian stuff and IM mods that are more tame. Still tempted to get the alternative code for it. I still remember the first time I played this pin. I was like WOW, this pin feels amazing! It was for sale but the premium ramp was broken...that is the only reason I did not buy it that day...I did in fact buy that same pin later after it was repaired.
