Will always (rightfully) pale in comparison to the Williams masterpiece, but man, seeing that 8 ball Ark multiball as a kid was the coolest thing in the world.

I usually consider games of this era underrated.

The layout is about average, bashing the ball against the ark and shooting the ramp is fun at least. And the game actually looks quite good in terms of decorations. But there's no real flow to find on this game.

The gamecode is alright but to me it feels like a game of which the biggest highlight is the Raiders of the Lost Ark multiball. It is a nice feature but it cannot save this game for me.

The artwork is average in my opinion. But the animations are actually better than those the most games had during this time. At least there are a few animations that aren't movie scenes.

I couldn't play this game over and over again. For me the most fun I have is starting that eight ball multiball and that's it.

In conclusion it is an alright and fun game but it is a far cry from the Williams classic from 1993.

It’s ok but the Williams version is 100 times more fun.

I wanted to like this machine as I love the theme but it's actually really bad, mainly due to the rules. Nothing seems coordinated, and it's just hit a shot so many times to start a mode which doesn't seem like it even has anything to do with the movies. Really bad theme integration.

The machine has the same graphics on both sides, so that is a bit cheap. However the graphics are great with colors that I really like. A beautiful thing to look at. The play field is very pretty. One mission for each movie. The Crystal skull is a bit annoying because it is a ramp shot that has to be extremely precise to work. This is also the ramp to get the extra ball. The Ark is the coolest feature of the game. It contains 4 extra balls that rolls out into the play field. 3 more balls are shot automatically from the plunger. You now have a multiball with 8 balls..... Chaotic, but fun. Temple of Doom is a cool mission as well. "I`m not leaving without that stone". All in all I love the game and always play it at least a couple of times when in the game room.

I absolutely love this game. This is the one game my wife and I play and keep coming back to. The fast paced play makes it fun to play and the 8-ball Ark is always insanity! We have played countless machines and this is very under-rated.

Is in a retro store not far from my house. A lot of fun. Love to mad multi-ball when I can get it.

I didn’t like this- really wanted to but too many scoops and too much delay in the gameplay. Love Indy but this was a swing and a miss for me- only played a few games so can’t really comment on how it would play over an extended time in the home- hated how it invariably went into a scoop on the left of the pf- maybe it wasn’t set up level but seemed like a design flaw to me. Pity because the theme sings to me as a child of the 80’s and I love Borg games usually (Tron Rules!!!)

If your a Indiana Jones then your probably own the game purely for that and not the gameplay for Lastablity. The game gets old quick. its not particular challenging and for the most part I felt like it was not a well thought out design.

This was the first pinball machine I've ever got to play in free play mode. In a way, this is what I cut my teeth on and thus am favorably biased towards it. It was something magical getting a bajillion ball multiball for the first time!

After the fun of the multi-balls wear off, this game got boring quick.

Played Stern Indiana Jones for the first time today in an arcade. There were a few surprises in this game. I particularly liked how the ARK opened up and spilled balls out during multiball. However, the game was pretty meh. It seemed like the ball went into the far left scoop off of too many shots, and the ball spent half the game in there. The art on this game is subpar, and the theme loses points because it features the Crystal Skull movie... which is... bad. Overall, this is a fun game to pop a few games into at the arcade for the sake of variety, but a pin I would not want to rotate through my basement.

It's a good game, fun to play. Not a game I'd play every day but still a interesting game.May not be as good as the original but a great game in its own right. If it was compared to other pinballs and not compared to the original IJ this machine would rate better

I like the game. The rules are easy to understand and the music is cool. I like the callouts. The playfield is very simple because you know where everything is.

I got to say: I prefer this Indiana Jones pinball.
The original Williams one may be a classic, but I like this one much more. It has cool toys, it´s just fantastic when that 8-Ball Multiball starts and nice shots. The Williams had awful shots and awful artwork. Even if Stern´s Indy´s artwork isn´t perfect as well, it´s still beter than the Williams. The rules may be a bit broken, just backhanding scoop all day is working quite good, but if you don´t play it that way, it can be a lot of fun.

The game play is just ok when compared to the original wide body Indiana Jones. The best parts of this game are all of the movie call outs and an 8 ball multi ball!!! It is worth playing, but there is only one IJ worth owning.

Oof. This is gonna get a bad rap no matter what. The Williams version is an absolute classic. The design is FAR better on that pin than this one, which consists of two scoops close together, one ramp and the Ark sitting high dead center which eventually triggers multiball events. The lighting on the table is too bright and lights up a sand-colored playfield with colored dots in the lower half which indicate which missions you've finished. The "Grail" mission is one you can beat each time mainly because the ball always lands in that vicinity after the shot. The ruleset is weak and there's no creativity beyond a ladder-style escalation of missions. The audio and music are great but the DMD sucks on toast with horribly grainy video of events from the films running at a poor framerate. The replay factor is only high just to see how high you can climb but, ultimately, the lack of creativity is the game's downfall.

Another good game ruined by bad rules. Hitting the scoop over and over to score millions. Without this, it would be a nice game. Played it a lot last 5 years and always enjoyed it. I love the 8-ball multiball activable by hitting the ark.

I bought this game to put on site. It wasn't well received in our leagues as the rules are pretty bad. i think this game still has a space in a larger collection or on site though. on site is a very strong earner. i'd often see people play it just to get the multiball and show their mates. i really don't like the fact that there are 2 scoops so close together. this is just weird. in all honesty if the left scoop was a big ramp instead this game would be WAY better. overall this is a reliable high earning game and i'd recommend anyone give it a play to check out the crazy 8 ball multiball. buy one if you're an operater.

I had this machine on a trade. I had no great expectations because of it's rating. Big surprise, it's a family and friends favorite. The music, artwork, and theme are very good. Rules are not very deep. Good machine for beginner and whole familly.

I adore Indiana Jones and am a huge fan of the original trilogy (leaving out that horrid mistake #4) however this game really falls flat. Talk about boring and EXTREMELY repetitive... hit the same 4 shots a hundred times over and, yay, you get multiballs for days! No amount of gimmicky 8 ball multiball can redeem this snore-fest. It’s too bad. I wanted to like it too.

This is a tough game for me to rate fairly. But I’ll try. First off, I LOVE Indiana Jones movies. This is a top 3 theme for me, so that alone makes this a keeper for me. But I do admit that the 1993 Williams version is deeper, more well designed and better in many key ways. However, Indy4 has better sound, music, video clips and I prefer the art package to the Williams comic book cartoon animation on the playfield. But this version is simple, easy to play and understand, and has some decent shots (the ramp and orbits feel good), and the rising captive ball is clever. Finally, the 8-ball multiball is bonkers. I’m not saying it’s great, but it’s unusual. I do believe if the 1993 version didn’t exist, this game would be considered a better game. Not great, but easy to play, with good music, sound and callouts, with some pretty good DMD scenes. It’s Indy! It’s still fun for what it is. Plus, you can pick up a really nice one, if you can find it, for about half the price of the first version. This one is staying in my lineup. Plus, non-pinheads seem drawn to it. I’ve owned both versions of Indy Jones, and while I respect the Williams version a lot, it wasn’t a keeper for me. I’ve owned the Stern version twice, and I love having one around, even if I seldom play it.
