I love my LE. One of the Stern releases worth the purchase. It is a difficult Machine to play. Nothing for beginners.
Anything else doesn't matter at this point, because there are not enough ratings for this LE to be considered. I will edit this rating as soon as the LE shows up in the top 100.

This is a very nice game.

The layout is basically Metallica's layout with a bit more flow. I think it plays a lot smoother and the Orb shot is very satisfying. In general all of the shots feel satisfying. This version's splitting orb is a very nice addition but I think Groot's arms obscure the playfield quite a bit.

I enjoy playing the modes and the Groot multiball is a nice feature too. I think the rules are pretty easily understandable, even a beginner could probably have some fun on this game.

The only aspect where this game is a bit underwhelming is the artwork. The playfield isn't bad but it looks a bit photoshopped. But altogether the artwork is looking good, just not perfect in my opinion.

All in all this is a very good, underrated and fun game. For fans of Guardians of the Galaxy this could be the perfect machine.

Underrated game that has easy rules/modes, great theme and a fantastic audio/video package (with the audiomod). The game shoots great in its classic fan layout but it does have some tight shots that provide a challenge. Overall, it's a blast to play for young and old and the LE is a very nice looking unit. I was surprised that it wasn't ranked higher considering how fun we are having with it and how great the theme is but I understand that there was some software issues in the beginning of it's lifecycle that could explain that. Nonetheless, me and the family love this game and it's currently in in my top 10 - just play and enjoy.

Having owned MET pro the game layout looked quite familiar. However, it plays quite different I can say.

The right ramp is more difficult to hit as the left ramp but if you are in the zone and hit left right left right this is a great feeling.

The rules are satisfying and nothing wrong with them. They are relative easy to understand and the multicolored inserts guide you through it.

I have the LE and the hands look great must must admit that seeing the insert in te left loop is not easy. I see this as a design error. But it is not a showstopper.

Groot is a great toy and is properly used. You can lock more balls in them and shooting Groot on Cherry bomb multiball while the mouth opens and closes is a challenge I can say.

For those looking for real movie music and audio there is the Cleland mod who did excellent work with it.

Overlooked this game when it first came out. Just picked up a routed LE and it is fantastic. Really shoots well. Code is fun. And Clelands sound mod puts a bow on this game. Has that "hit start one more time" feel. Very happy to have it in my collection for now.

Just picked up an LE with very few plays on it .... Amazing machine ! Just need to work through the mods for replacing the Call outs with the red actors voices and this will be 100/100 ...

Played the LE with the last code... Wow, great game, great sound , very good music.... If you like the movies, you will like the game...

Ramps are very smooth, groot multiball is very fun, missions are fun.

The hand of groot hide the left loop but its noy really dramatic for the gameplay.

Like this game, need to be in the top 20, really !

Let me preface this rating by stating that I own a GOTG LE with the Cleland Code and am so happy that I made the decision to doubt the haters and purchase. I played this on location before buying and couldn’t stand it. While I love the theme, the rules were clunky, the sound was terrible and orb multiball was broken, now that is definitely not the case. I love the different modes and getting the sounds, speech and music from the actual movie makes a huge difference in the gameplay and fun factor. The flow of the game is great now and the modes give variation to what you shoot for and when. And being able to hit the ball around to all the music from the movie, again, really makes a difference. I love being able to stack multipliers and in contrast to most games, a bonus multiplier can really make a huge difference in your score. The only minor mechanical issue for me is the drop target on the orb multiball seems pretty poorly designed as the weight of the ball sometimes prevents the target from functioning properly and so you get some unnecessary ball searches during the game more often than you should. The rules are now very deep and I still have a lot left to explore. I love when a game is hard enough to master that you can get really solid scores and have yet to uncover deeper modes, gives it lastability and replay-ability. Orb multiball is HARD with magnets actually chucking the ball is random directions instead of just slightly diverting it like other games. But with the ball save you get while it’s on, you don’t feel cheated. Also, as it’s relatively easy to get, though with a dangerous shot above the middle, you can get it multiple times in a game. I don’t see this ever leaving the collection. In my game room, this bad boy is always being played by one of the kids or a guest. Absolutely love it, happy it sucked so bad when it came out because I got it at an absolute bargain!!!

Recently added a HUO low played GOTG LE to the pin collection. Loving the theme, music and overall game play. Its a big hit with the kids and the adults in the room due to its fast play, Groot shooting out the multi ball of his mouth and again music. Definitely upgrade to the Clealand the code!

I had been waiting to play GOTG with current code and really wanted to like it/possibly buy it if I did. I found when playing the LE, which is a pretty good looking machine, it just didn't hold my interest they I thought it would. I got to 45m on my first game and really didn't feel I got drawn that far into the game. A couple of more games and I'd had enough.

Admittedly recycled layout hybrid but nonetheless a pure shooter and i’m Reviewing this with the Cleland code because it’s available for free and there is no reason anyone should not be using it. It puts the game over the top the same as it does for TWD. Beautiful art package and play field. A dream theme and the LE package delivers, the Groot arms do block a few inserts but my head can move left and right and the arms look cool. Also be the modes you will know when the insets light up after a few games.

I've had a chance to put quite a few games in on the LE at a crowded bar. It was hard to hear the music and sounds but I have played it in the past and know that the voice acting not matching the movies bothers me. Beautiful artwork all around, and a very fun shooting pin. Guardians of the Galaxy is one of my dream themes but the machine still seems like it could have been better. The new code has really helped this pin and I really enjoyed the light show. All in all a fun pin but not the best I've ever played by any stretch.

I’m still trying to figure this pin out,It’s plays very fast and the latest code(0.81) does seem to make it better,I think when code updates come out it will get better,as for the artwork it is very nice,The build quality is a lot better than previous stern titles,The added monitor sure makes it nicer,Still not the 26 0r 27 inch that we are now seeing on other pins, but its a start,As for the trim on an LE(I have the LE) I would have gone with a purple color toned,It would have fit very nicely with the colors on the cabinet and playfield As for the shots,I find them very tight and sometimes hard to make,I don’t own any of the music based themed pins but I’m hearing that it very similar to (This is a Borg title) so That may the reason for that,I do find that some of the shots and the layout are similar to other Borg titles,So far I’ve logged about 30 plays on it and have not got past 70 million points and I have all the settings set factory, Groot Multiball is easy to get as the Orb Multiball is the harder of the 2, as for the other Multiball modes I have yet to achieve those

I have had the game about a week now and cannot stop playing it when I can kick my family off it... I bought an LE and I have to say it is beautiful. The cabinet art, playfield and LE backglass are amazing. The gold trim which I was originally concerned about looks AWESOME! I did purchase the upgraded etched side rails and awaiting those to ship.

Game play is VERY fast, fun and addicting. My family is totally addicted to the theme and logging a ton of play on it. They have even started researching the rules which they have NEVER done for our Metallica Pre or Tron LE. Stern continues to release code containing new content, music and voices. There has been debate here on Pinside about voice actors being used instead of the movie actors. In my own opinion it has made ZERO affect on how I perceive the game. It truly is allot of fun and I don't really notice!!! I continue to look forward to the code progression!

If you like Pinball/Guardians of Galaxy you cannot miss out on this pin!!!
