I finally played this this weekend. I would say that it is a great game. Very fast and lots of good shots.

I wasn’t excited about the theme at first, but quickly got to enjoying the fun campy style of these original movies. Love the video and how it contributes well with design flow of the gameplay. This pin, like many Sterns, can get into high speeds and has a great design not seen in other pins with creative unexpected pathways depending on how/where the ball is hit. Fast, but does not usually drain with speed. The out lanes tend to lean toward the drain side, so it can be hard to save once it enters that area. The building feature is innovative and creative and can send the ramp shots in different directions/paths depending on what floor it is on. Call outs are fun and I enjoy the old fashioned campy newscaster voice. Fight modes are well designed and can crank up t(e points when you are hitting the flashing targets. Good to have the rocking Godzilla song during the GZ MB, but can get repetitive after playing a bit. The general game play music can be repetitive as well. This Stern is much improved as far as the shootabilty to hit all the targets compared to the last few releases which have numerous frustrating targets Overall, great gameplay using a well designed campy nostalgic theme.

Really good game but not perfect or my favorite Elwin

Great theme integration and toys but layout hurts it

Not a ton to shoot for at the top of the PF, right ramp and spinner are gimmie unsatisfying shots. The upper flipper clanking the right ramp and the whallop going STDM are head scratchers.

This title is definitely a keeper for me. Excellent flow much like JP2, combined with great art package and good theme integration

Just got this; it lives up to the hype. It'll be in my home for a long, long time! I've never really been a Godzilla fan, so the theme is the least appealing aspect, yet I'm completely in love with every bit of this game. It's enough to make me want to revisit the old movies.

Very unique game. Building is great! I like the bridge collapse as well. Gets me excited to play.

Code needs to be flushed out.

It's the most fun I've ever had playing pinball. I've had games at home for 20 years, and this is my clear #1 of all time. The layout is amazing, the toys/features are great, the code has so many ways to approach the game and it's campy and fun, the artwork is great. It's the total package.

I played this quite a bit at a local barcade. Each of the shots felt great to shoot. There were a lot of unique feeling shots while maintaining a huge amount of flow. The magnetic captive ball was a really great feature, thought after a couple shots you feel like you are waiting a while for it to return back to you.

The code still has some fleshing out with locations. In general I thought what was there was fairly strong. I think it will age well, and it is certainly one of the most packed games we've seen in a while. I own a JP premium I'd call bolted to the floor. This makes me reconsider it because of the flow and depth it packs.

I played the Godzilla LE a few times on location thought it was great. I found one and decided to buy it. After brining it home and learning the rules, this game is the best game I have ever had. Every time I play it and I learn more of the rules and the shots it just keeps getting better. The only issue I have found is the STDM coming out of the multiball. This game is bolted to the floor.

I am not a big Stern fan but there's nothing to really complain about with this pin! The rules are great and will only get better. Its not super difficult so it makes for a fun pin for all skill levels. Some of the best toys yet! Love it!

After a few recent releases that felt a little under par, this one delivers on all levels. Layout is excellent with amazing flow, shots are rewarding and challenging. Some have said the scoop is too hard to hit, but its really not ( play better ) The only sdtm drain shot on my machine is when shooting for the right ramp and only making it half way up. Which means I missed the shot. The lighting, backglass and cabinet art is top notch. I have a habit of playing games for a few months and letting them go for something new to play. But this one is a keeper.

i know, i swim against the current. no, this is not a #1 game. but yes, it is one of the better stern pinball machines. but it is still a stern. if you play one stern, you know every stern (my opinion). spoiler alarm: i am not a stern boy ;)
stern is like Nespresso; nice&easy. but it will never reach the quality of a portafilter coffee machine!
the bridge has this typical stern plastic look. when you attack bridge it seems that bridge mechanic has a short circuit. the whole bridge toy is not implemented very well. mechzilla is boring after 10 games. nice flow, but the typical stern drains. single bumper is taken from spooky.
game code is still underneath! i don't understand how stern can release such an unfinished code.
magna grab destroys the whole flow.
where is the extraball shot?? - this should be the most satisfying shot in pinball!
i hope that code will improve soon!!
all in all: top #20 pin.

Keith Elwin nails it !!! Even with an early code, this game is excellent!!!!

If I had the money I would buy the Premium, just for the excellent toys!!
Even though I would love to see Godzilla LE have green powder coating, this is a gorgeous game! You understand why they chose steel colored powder coating ( since Mecha Godzilla is one of the enemy's you fight

Update may 31, 2022..

This game is Elwin´s best! It now has 2 mini wizard modes ( Monster Zero, and terror of Mecha Godzilla, and one real wizard mode, Planet X!!

Not my favorite theme, but the game play is beyond compare. Very deep like my TSPP with lots of risk/reward shots. It'll be in my collection permanently.

Some really fast draining aspects. This is a downer. You'll learn not to shoot there unless directed to. Right from the building, your toast. But, the other shots and loops are so satisfying. The mission select gobble hole is too hard to get into. This is why I'm scoring it lower. should be easy to get to or easy to activate once you get into the hole. It's such an achievement to get into, make it automatic that you activate it once you get in.

I've played the pro at two different locations and both locations had the game setup and playing very well.... It may just speak to how good KME is at designing a layout at this point in his career. I own a first run premium that came 98% good out of box, I had to pull apart the motor for Mechagodzilla turntable and put it back together properly as the turntable wouldn't rotate the three bank when necessary during gameplay and was making a very threatening noise when the game was powered on for the first time. After sorting that out the machine has played VERY WELL! Only changes made were removing the stock rubbers with clear silicone rings and perfect play flipper rubbers to avoid the dreaded black debris from the gradual degradation of black rubbers over time.
Keith Elwin has done it AGAIN! He's the NUMBER ONE pinball designer in pinball hands down. From the awesome shots on this games layout to the rules depth thats clearly showing itself at this VERY EARLY V0.81 code iteration. I LOVE the risk reward he's implemented into the gameplay so early on in the cycle. Especially with the team up vs. Modes! Make the shots then the time to complete drops a bit if you keep up the fight or cash it in and get the points earned! Its awesome! Super train mode can easily get you billions of points on .81 code but that will be fixed once the next code release happens for sure! Only fault at this stage would be the upper flipper shot should have been right ramp accessible on the layout, it is hitable but its not something thats doable on every attempt and I believe keith could have made this possible.

Damn-what a fun game.

I have a GZ premium on order and had to trade that plus one of my favorite KME games to get this, plus a couple of my kids…really took a chance on this. In today’s market availability/opportunity is key…will miss the kids.

I can’t get enough of this game- the shots and flow are the best. My wife and adult kids (very occasional players) love it-“it is so colorful and has the neatest shots!”. At my last pinball house tourney of seasoned players, I could hardly get anyone to play any of my other 20 pins.

Pros- multiple cool very satisfying shots (when you make them) with incredible flow. Early code (ok not the first which was very glitchy) is really good and the theme is surprisingly great-campy and includes multiple original film clips.
Artwork- GZLE metallic paint look, mirrored back glass- fabulous.
Call outs- the monotone narrator (tribute to Aaron Burr in the originals), campy movie clips (tilt warning is hilarious), and choice of English or Japanese- brilliant.
Modes- 4 main monster foes- plus tier 2 team ups- fabulous.
Scoring- current code-emphasis on completing modes
MB- multiple opportunities-not stackable with each other but stackable with modes.
Pop bumper next to the right scoop- evil but challenging. The single pop is also a key shot in itself.
Theme integration- fabulous! Almost as good as R and M. The GZ theme is campy mid century goofiness and executed beautifully.
Status update- each screen at the beginning of play gives you a snapshot of the city (looks a lot like Dialed In) and what you have accomplished.
So many cool shots and deep code (even at this early stage).
Monster allies- bonus multiplier, add a ball, and left lane ball save- load these up with “easy” (dangerous) scoop shots.
Destruction jackpot- widest lane ever- difficult to nail consistently. Frustratingly cool…

Cons-
Sound- supposedly upgraded speakers- still need to add at least a subwoofer.
Code- after defeating one of the monsters- still unclear what to do next- you can change cities or stay in the current city- but getting to the next mode is unclear (yeah I know that is my problem, but I’m trying hard to have a list of cons…)
Price and availability- too bad this came out during this time of supply issues and huge demand.
Premium of course is the $ way to go- good luck getting one. Add a shaker, invisiglass, good sound and you essentially have the LE.
Destruction jackpot- see above.
My other machines are lonely.

I took a couple of points off- lighting- much better than other recent games, but I will probably add some pinstadiums. Sound- Nothing like my GNR with pinwoofer or stock R and M (come on Stern-get your sound game up, especially for the LE).

Go out and find one to play- you will have a lot of fun and will enjoy many clips of grown men in cheesy rubber monster suits fighting each other and other incredible special effects foes (Mothra!).

Cheers!

Update - last ability is definitely a huge plus. My LE is really dialed in. Still waiting for my Premium (will go to fellow pinball buddy who traded me the LE).

The game is SO GOOD. Yes - definitely deserves #1 rating.

Update 1 year later- my buddy got his premium from me. Six core Dayton pinball owners in our home league all have one (premium) as well as my son. Game is still awesome. Not much else to say.
