I find this game very satisfying. Two spinners you can rip and the wheel of randomness. You have plenty of places to get points from the wheel which is nice. A few drop targets on one side to boost your score and double down on them for an extra ball. Outlanes are not too brutal I felt. Biggest issue is usually the inserts are sunk a bit on a game this old giving some inconsistency to action. If you have strong flippers it is a fun game to break away from the norm. Open playfield and not deep rules. Work your way to 1000 point spinners and rip them all day!

Everything moves the wheel except drop targets. Gives it a nice randomness for points. But if you try, you can kind of skill shot the center saucer at the top if you are needing one or two hits before.

Freedom is an interesting game from Bally. They made 3 different versions of this thing! The first had a popper is such a weird place the focus groups were not impressed. Then they changed the pop and made 5,000 or so then experimented with a new idea: let’s put a computer and ROM inside and see if that IS the wave of the future .
This game is at Pins Mechanical Easton and really calls back to another time and place. The object is simple : get the spinner to reward you as much as possible as you try to raise the pf multipliers. Although the game is wide open and plays slow even for an EM game I will give Bally credit on this one …
The spinner randomizes the rewards so that you aren’t stuck hitting every objective in order every time you play. It isn’t a drain monster so kids can play this easily without wasting 5o cents. The theme is patriotic which adds to the cool factor and the art is amazing. Lastly, some satisfying shots of the flippers are dialed in.

It's a good shooting game. The wheel in the middle of the playfield is a nice gimmick, but can feel a bit random. The art on the background is a pretty good patriotic theme! It's fun, but gameplay is limited. Light the spinner, rip the spinner, repeat.

I had a chance to play this recently, and I know it's a renowned title for many, but I just couldn't get into it.

The game is slow and clunky, and I lost interest before I lost a ball.

It may have been the set up, and maybe the game could get going if it had a little more pitch to it than the one I played, but that one experience for me was enough for me to say something I never thought I would:

Maybe Freedom is overrated?

I was skeptical at first, but after getting the game up and working solid, I find it really fun to play. The randomness of the wheel in the center could get frustrating, but I think it adds to the fun family friendly theme. Also, in these crazy times, I find the patriotic theme appropriate. I ended doing a full restoration including Pinball Pimp stencils, a BG Resto glass. I start the 2 part auto clear process on the PF in a week, which will be a first for me. So yes, it's a keeper.

Great EM with a very cool random wheel in the center of the play field. Good artwork that ties the theme together nicely. This game will keep you coming back time and time again.

Great game, easy rules, and fun. Allows for long ball play, rollovers and high scores. A game that is great for friends and family that don't play a lot, lets them feel like they are great players. This machine was my first, but sold it to get a newer machine. I miss the game play, regret selling it, and will be looking for another to add to my collection.

Great artwork on the cabinet. Backglass is decent.

I enjoy playing Freedom but really don’t care for the randomness of the wheel in the middle of the playfield.

Would like to try the prototype with the pop bumper in front of the flippers.
