I have had this game for several years and still like playing it despite the noisy step up units being an E M game. Been very dependable and has given me very little problems other than light bulb replacement. Just recently changed G I lights to l e d and was a big improvement and eye catcher.

Freedom is a decent EM game for its time. Nothing too fancy but a fun game to play for a few minutes. The spinner at the top is a fun gimmick and the spinners are really satisfying to hit when they've been powered up.

Freedom is a good solid mid-70s balky machine. Multi chimes are in sync with the hits. Double bonus adds to the fun when the ball drains. Drop targets are challenging.

This is a fast paced game and for an EM, is complicated and enjoyable to play. My main issues with this game is that every backglass I've ever come across has been severely flaked off or completely missing and the playfields all seem to plank easily as compared to other machines from this era. Bally could have put some more quality into its construction.

A solid effort from Bally. The pops are fast and the kick outs fun. The drops are typical Bally. They work once in a great while!

I like the game and find the randomness fun especially when playing with kids or beginners as it's anyone's game.

Freedom is not the best game from Bally or Claude F. However, things got better from Claude and his asymmetrical games are some of the best players out there.

The Pros:
2 Spinners! Light em' up!

The Cons:
A sparse PF that needs fresh slings and pops to keep things interesting. Otherwise things get dead, quick. Random awards take away the skill involved in playing pinball. Mr. Marche... what is going on? This BG looks like the marrching band is made out of mud...

The Takeaway:
I have played this game and it was OK. I have also played this game and walked away after a single play. Spirit of '76 is a far superior game to this design.

One thing I learned about this game is that it was originally designed with a pop bumper between the flippers (Spanish Eyes style) This meant that the flippers were higher and wider than what this game ended up being in production. This is why the top lanes feel so strange. The shot lines/geometry was never changed. That is why this game feels so "clunky".
