Fun game, haven't come across it in a bit, but represents the golden era of Gottlieb card themed games

Once again I played this game on location in the early 1970’s and can still feel the excitement this game brought to us addicted pinball players back then. Play field design lay out is superb with a good balance of bull eye stand up targets and rollovers. The main attraction on great card game by Gottlieb is the spin feature in which a player has a chance to make 10 of the 13 suited club cards. Three different ways to score SPECIAL makes this wedge head a EM players dream game. Skilled flipper shots are everywhere and the side kickers if working to perfection will kick the ball into or “up and down” the right side Ace of club rollover for 500 or when going “up and down” a 1000 points or when SPECIAL is lit two replays (pop, pop). Right side return flipper lane is so nice when lit for SPECIAL and what a cool treat it is for a player to shoot or side kick the ball in the spin hole with hopes it will stop on the Ace of clubs for a replay by SPECIAL. This is a player friendly game with just the perfect pop bumper arrangement too. I like everything about the game including the purple colored back glass artwork which brings me back in time when I was 14 yrs old when glancing at it reminds me when everyday life wasn’t so complicated. Simply a challenging, fun, great player with plenty of nostalgia and charm.

Maybe the best playing non drop wedgehead ever. Unbelievably challanging with tight shots everywhere. I really can't say enough about how good this pin is. The art is weak, yes, but play it a few times and you won't care at all. I have a lot of wedgeheadsands, but since I found this gem I haven't played anything else. Completely addictive game that leaves you with one card needed so often and it's a different card every time! Just a killer game! Talk about under valued bang for buck? This one tops my list. If you find one, just buy it.

Another game I kept for about 20 years that I would take back in a second if I could. Big card sequence divided pretty evenly between rollovers and targets and the spinner helps you out a little to complete it, asymmetrical playfield. I don't even like looking at pictures of it now because it makes me misty.

This is a simple but fun EM. Get all the cards to light special. Art is decent and shots can be challenging.

I like the gameplay and the playfield artwork more than most. Classic Gottlieb chimes and a neat playfield novelty in the Spin Unit. Glad I bought it.

Simply top of the mark game from the heyday of Gottlieb. The pinnacle of pinball design using the only REAL flippers--the short Gottlieb flipper. Not for beginners or intermediate players.

Good shooters game! Not my fave! Cards on backglass are neat!

Flip-A-Card is an underrated Wedgehead that can be had for a reasonable price. Get ready for some good action on this asymmetrical game and once you clear all of the cards and your special is lit. Pop-Pop-Pop-Pop! Always a satisfying sound!!

Fun game with many shots all over the place. Good pop bumper placement and a good shot to get the ball back to the top.

A fantastic playing EM that has that perfect, "one more game" addictive quality to it. The asymmetric layout is awesome, and getting that 7 or 8 up by the pop bumpers will infuriate you (in a good way!).

I really, really wish the art package was better on this table. The playfield is barren with only a couple geometric shapes of color, and while the backglass is well illustrated, it's about as boring as it gets. It does absolutely no justice as to how fast and exciting the table actually plays. I owned one in the past, and I would definitely pick up another.

Flip-a-card is a game that is a shooter's game.

The Pros:
Shots, shots, shots... shots all over. Get that ball up into the upper arch if you can. Not an easy thing to do with EEEETY BEEEETY FLEEEEPERS. One of my favorite games from gottleib that features shots, but not drop targets. A great Asym PF from Master K. Even the slings are designed asymmetrically.

The Cons:
Boring artwork, esp. from this time period. The PF is flat and the girls on the BG look BORED and uninteresting. Art Steinholm went daft on this game. The Spin saucer is a luck shot...

The Takeaway:
Keep your eyes on the ball and this game will reward you with solid pinball game play.
