Good table but a little overrated in my opinion...seems a little repetitive maybe I just don't get it?

Fun original theme. I like all the games i've played with mark and python together in the credits. Games ebb and flow, I always really liked fish tales, but lately i'm lovin' it
Update: I'm on my third FT. Something keeps pulling me back in, it's simple, and shallow by modern standards.. but the Williams magic was strong in the early 90s. Kinda similar to BSD, lightning flippers, and ultimate goal payout, light super jackpot and score big, or chop wood and come up short.

My one complaint about Fish Tales is that the boat ramps and wire forms for the reel obscure too much of the upper playfield. Otherwise it has good flow, one of the best video modes in pinball, and a nice variety of modes to keep you busy. Artwork is fun, some may consider it too cutesy. Music can grate on you after a while, but it fits the theme well. Voice call outs are not the best quality, but they are funny. Fish topper is loud in a home setting. There are ways to quiet it down without unhooking the solenoid. Another quality non-licensed them game from Williams.

Too simple, too repetitive. For young kids, this might be the one, but it's just too shallow to keep coming back.

FT was the one that hooked me on pinball .LOL Now i own one and ive had mixed thoughts but after 9 months and 500 games later i think its a keeper . THe game does really keep you coming back . love the caster club shot . the boat ramp is fun and helps you set up your shots.
what can i say you never forget your your first love . o and the art work is the best you can stare at it for hours .

Fish Tales is one of my favorite games of all time and has lasted in my collection since I started.

Own(ed): Yes

Times Played: 100s

Positives:
Something about the gameplay sneaks up on you, there is usually 3 or 4 things going on at once.
The PF design offers lots of tight shots, and the rules are integrated perfectly. Might be the one game where the spinner shot is the most satisfying. The captive ball shot is fun to keep until you want to have a certain mode start..offers lots of strategy and variation in gameplay. Super jackpot shots and multiball jackpot modes are hard as H$ll.

Being a fisherman, I love the theme. The flapping fish is funny, the PF artwork is some of the best ever. Only ding in the rating is for using the Red cabinet color that fades.

Negatives:
Don't listen to the naysayers about the country music...some good banjo picking and all in good fun.

Recomendation:
For me, Fish Tales is a keeper!

I've only had this pin in my toy barn for a few weeks, but I love it. Since we're on one of the best fishing lakes in Texas, the theme is great. I'll elaborate more on the game after I've had a little more time with it.

I just picked up a nice FT. I do love this game. Very tough. I can't wait to install leds because this game was made for that. The fish topper is loud and I have unplugged it. A great game for someone new to pinball to walk up and play. Pretty deep game with tough shots..............it's all or nothing with this game..............I like that.

I like the flow, the DM animations are terrific (and put Stern digitisers to shame), I don't mind the country music, and overall I think the theme is fun and well executed, everything a pinball should be then. However there's a big BUT. This game (even with the lightning flippers) is just TOO easy. 4 Euros spent and I had seen 99% of what the game had to offer. None of it was bad. For a game on route I can see this as a tremendous success, but for the home it would have to be newbies only. "Deep" fishing this ain't.

Not a 'great' game, but FT is a very good game. A fun theme, a quick play. Video mode is always entertaining. There is no, one shot or element that has a 'wow' factor or stands out. But overall, FT is just a fun pin.

When 2 out of 5 times simply launching the ball into play sends it right down the middle of the flippers, it's a good indicator that a game was designed for pay and not play. The game has promise, and really does work out the theme well, but the fish knocking (it's louder than the crack when you win a free game) is really irritating.

Fish Tales seems like a game i should rather enjoy, yet i find very little enjoyment from it. The center ramps and the balls locking in the fishing reel are definitely playfield highlights. I think the sound (especially the music!) are excellent. Maybe it's the theme (not into fishing AT ALL) that turns me off of this machine. It's good for a game or so, but there isn't anything special enough about it to keep me coming back for me.

I enjoy Fish Tales. I like how the balls lock into the fish reel to eventually start multi-ball. I also enjoy the ramps in the middle. They are very fast and challenging. I enjoy getting U-Turns. LED's really make the playfield pop. When the game is fully working, it is a very fun game and I enjoy playing it.

I love this game but after a while the music gets annoying and the cabinet decals will fade very badly. However, I recommend it because it is a fun game and in some odd way, the machine wants you to get better at it.
