In my opinion this game is a lot of game for your dollar! Fast and fun! The multi all and sound are amazing for the era!

I was never a fan of "hungry" outlanes but this game just flows so well and is beautiful in it's simplicity that I fell in love with it immediately. To some the sounds may get repetitive but being someone who loves 80's videogames the sounds were perfect for me. The table can be very frustrating but it's so rewarding when you get a good ball going, and the scoring flows so well and is simple enough that you can get a grasp on how the whole game works after just a couple of plays without ever having to read the rulesheet.

Recently played this and thought it was terrible. The theme has not withstood the test of time, angles are bad, sound is boring, and the art work is average at best.

Multi-ball, speech, AND land change this game has it all....FOR 1980... Lots of fun and worth playing for hours. I am a little partial because I love this era of game. Some might find it a little un challenging because there aren't A LOT of objectives but I find it very playable and last-ible

Only played it on an emulator but I really like it. Would like to experience the real machine.

This game set many precedents in pinball still used in today's titles
Multiball, lane change, interactive displays etc innovative for 1980 thanks to Steve Ritchie!
I've played most of the modern A list pinballs with all the gimmicks but Still enjoy a classic like firepower,
It's just pure Pinball... Own one if you can...

Sounds are a blast on this machine and the art is really great. I like Firepower, but something about it doesn't suck me back in for play after play. Hard to put my finger on why, though.

What I love about Firepower is the build up of excitement. The audio is total 80's, but it's so much fun. If you play a good ball, Firepower responds with higher and higher audio frequency. It's like great sex. Build, Build, Build... Multiball

Firepower is a challenging game that puts you in harms way as you shoot at the 6 death stand-up targets in the middle of the playfield. Sure, you could just avoid them, but then you can forget about lighting the kickback on the gaping left side outlane. The rules are not difficult to understand, but actually starting a multi-ball takes good play and a little bit of luck avoiding the drains that the ball seems to want to run to. Multi-ball doesn't give crazy points...same as standard play...but having that cherry on top to be able to play for a handful of seconds is enough of an accomplishment in itself.

What is the theme? When I think "firepower" I don't think of what is on th backglass or playfield. Fun game rules.

Played it and just felt its missing something to make it a game that is a must have for my collection.

Amazing sounds. Interesting difficulty to reach multi-ball. Very weak artwork. Has false "vanishing points" for the lasers that are unbearable to look at. It's like looking at 2+2=5. Did I mention the amazing sounds? Theme does nothing for me. Love the fonts.

Pops are great randomizers that help you score 1-2-3-4 lanes. They are completely neutered and harmless
Ball locks feel really good.

Getting to multiball is an incredible challenge. I might reach it 1/25 times (at least an hour). The multiball itself is "ok"

This game will teach you to slap save and nudge until you are pro. I love games that teach me to play better. Much like Cyclone.

An absolute classic.

What more is there to say? It's the table that defined what Steve Ritchie was to become. Even he says it's his favorite pin of all time. I just shopped one with Novus and three coats of wax and it plays super fast. Be ready for the ball flying back at you from the center targets. Tough to find one without playfield wear as it's obvious this was a popular pin in 1980. The artwork is nothing special but my dad likes it. Says it reminds him of Jack Kirby's style from 60's Marvel comics. I can see mine sticking around for a while. Firepower is a perfect early solid state bang for the buck pin.

Firepower is a masterpiece of both playfield design and programming. Alot of elements from this game can be seen on future Steve Ritchie designs. Compare the shots on T2 and Firepower and you'll see some similarities. The rules and objectives are clear and although it is basic by today's standards, there is still a ton of replay value in this game. Lane change seems like a no-brainer now but try playing Gorgar or Time Warp and you'll miss it. The shots are incredibly satisfying and the countdown to multiball is entertaining. I've found that on other multiball games of this era (from Bally and Gottlieb) I always wish there something like the flashers going off or a countdown on the displays that broke up single and multiball play. For all Firepower has going for it, it can be brutal. Mulitball is satisfying to achieve but more times than not they drain fast and it can be frustrating. This also makes you want "just one more game." In 1980, Firepower must have made a fortune in quarters.

Wow what a pinball machine! This is what pinballs about! This game doesn't get old. The flow is amazing. And getting multiball isn't easy but once you do it's a blast. It's a must have game. I'm glad I have mine and I will not be selling it. Ever!

Good Game in its time and nice 80's sounds and good flow but doesn't hold my interest after a few games

Probably the best pin of the early SS machines. I can't add anything that hasn't already been mentioned, but this is one of my all time favorites. Whenever I see this pin, I will go out of my way to play it multiple times. It's that good.

The game that brought me into pinball. Still one of my top 3 go to machines after all these years. Simple rules but not easy to beat. Will never leave my collections.

His machine is a classic. It is aggressive and difficult to score high on. It has speech. Background sound. And a solid theme. It has everything that should make it be just ok in a large collection. One you have for its history and nostalgia. But man. Do I find myself playing it a lot. It has that fantastic 'just once more' hook to it that gets you playing over and over again. Steve richie sure news how to make a ball lock a satisfying adventure. Getting multiball on this machine is not a gimme at all. And it sure is fun to keep all three balls in play. The scoring shoots through the roof too! It's a blast. I thought about selling this machine, but the thought of letting it go didn't sit well, so I pulled it off market and have been restoring it. I'll be glad I did.

Simply a classic game, a real groundbreaker on it's time, that is still a blast to play today!! First game with lane change, first multiball game of the Solid State era, and fast and furious gameplay, what more could you want!!

This machine is a real piece of pinball history, less for today's gamers. It was a big step forward to the machines of the early 90's, but today a can be boring. The sound is fantastic even with one bass speaker.
