F-14 Tomcat is FAST!!! This pin has some decent shots. Great 80's sounds and music. Think of Top Gun. The 3 beacon lights on the back of the cabinet top are insane! When they go off, really draws you in. A great beginner game, that still can keep an experienced player busy for awhile. Good bang for the buck!

Anyone who Rates this Game Badly is High. Seriously. Or at the very least they are too young to understand how to rate these games in the context of the Time Period in which they existed. This game is a Classic. Period. Its fun, has great lighting (a good LED job will bring it back to life and absolutely light up your game room with a fantastic light show) The nostalgia of the 80's (top gun anyone?) , the Cold War (Russia vs USA) a Great theme, great light show, flashing beacons... a Super Fast and Super punishing game when set up correctly and taken care of... this game is a Rush to play and Super Fun. A classic on the level of Taxi, High Speed etc ... late 80's games during the big upswing revival of Pinball... should be rated as such.

What can I say? It's a classic. Straight forward simple rules, fast gameplay, challenging, fun callouts, and amazing light effects make this a solid game. Solid 80's theme add to the nostalgia effect. And it gets your heart racing when the beacons start going off, every time. And when the last ball drains and the game laughs at you...well, you gotta play again! Even compared to the more modern games in my collection, the kids keep coming back to this. Highly recommend, especially to balance out a collection that has some games with longer ball times.

It certainly is eye catching with its flashing light on the backglass and it playing fast. Not enough shots to keep my interest and having the ball shot straight down the middle gets old pretty quick.

Easily the best value around for a starter pin to get going. Fun, but easy rule set. Good for kids.

I really like this pin and find it slightly under rated.I like f14 more than my whirlwind which was twice the price and over 100 pins lower on the top 100 list.fun, fast and a great light show.

F14 I think is my current favorite pin. I love the main features the multi ball and the lights up top flashing!
There's a lot to do in the game and it's challenging but not impossible to play. My kids all like it which is also rare.

I never get tired of this game. "No, you can't win! No, No, Nooooooo!"

Top Gun craze all the way. Everybody knows about this one. The light show is second to none and the theme is full of 80s cheese without paying expensive licenses. The game has a pretty simple playfield without any ramps except for the locks but it does great for what it is. A very fast game which is difficult to master. One of the more charming System 11s out there.

Simple and shallow game but sooo fast. If you want a cheaper game that really gets you going, this is it !

A great 90's table and VERY Steve Richie. The lighting is dark, and the strobing lights (LED or stock) disorient the player and forces you to keep track of the ball or loose it to drain. This, in conjunction to the layout and overall speed of the games, fits the jet fighter theme PERFECTLY. I really enjoy the upper playfield flippers and drop targets, and the orbits are very fun. Multiball is mesmerizing. Great game for the price they sell for!

This is a good Williams game from the 80's. It was the first to put a ball save feature into a game. It was the first to shoot the ball at the flippers at high speed. Knowing that gives it a little nostalgia. The game is fun for a few games, but then you need to move on to another pin. Not much depth as most of the pins in this era. I added tons of customizations to spruce it up a bit to set next to more modern day pins and that helped to get it more attention. The sound quality is pretty bad like other 80's machines but is a pretty good over-all pin. Fun for a few games at each venture at least.

If you are looking for a game from the 80's build era to balance out your collection, this is a good one.

This machine was okay for its time, but the sounds get very annoying after playing for a while. Gameplay is okay, but not the best. This machine appeals to the individuals that grew up with it and is a great starter machine.

No..No...Noooo...screams General Yakov as you send the final kill shot! Yes, this game is that good and addicting but you have to be on point. It is unforgiving and extremely fast. I have seen many novice players step up and get shot down but it is highly addicting. The mars lights that spin on top combined with one of the best challenging multi balls to date make this game a keeper! This is classic Steve Ritchie at his best the flow is awesome but as I said super fast which is why I love his work. This pin captivated me in the Aladdin's Castle arcade where I spent my youth and when I had a chance to restore one that is exactly what I did! Combine this with led lights and this game rocks and is always challenging Now You Die Comrade keeps you inspired.

IMO, an overrated Ritchie game. My score doesn't reflect it because of rating so high in technical areas but I just don't dig it! Great music and theme, great animations and sound, great gimmicks and use of flashers, bizarre layout and bad, tight shots that feel...unsatisfying. If you dig it, more power to ya but not for me.

This a game I miss! The locking of balls never gets old and mulitball is a blast! The jackpot is challenging and the speed a clean version of this table picks up will surprise the most skillful of players. The artwork is good on the cab, playfield, and backglass but not spectacular. Some of the best music and callouts in pinball, does a great job of getting you pumped up! A really good game for the money.

This game is Awesome! I've owned it for a few months now and I don't see myself parting ways with it ever unless I find one in better condition to swap with. This game is fast and fun, I find myself firing it early in the morning before work for a few games all the time. You have to be on your toes or the ball will fly past and go right down the drain, even though I know now when that's going to happen most of the times it can still take you by surprise. When those beacons go off and you can get that 4 ball multiball hang on cause they will be coming fast, it Fantastic.
Absolutely a Great Game!

F-14 Tomcat can be an exciting game, but the wireform habitrails and tunnels are an aesthetic mess and, at least on the on location machine I played on, you can count on your ball getting shot straight down the drain when it kicks out after the plunge and sink. When (or better, if) the game gets going, there are some cool sounds and, if you have the need for speed, the play can speed up quite a bit. Most of the time, though, this game is a dud.

I wouldn't purchase this game, but I'd recommend playing it 5 or 10 times just to see what the game could have been if it wasn't such a messy drain monster.

I will keep this review very short, as this game needs no "introduction".

"I'm locked on...[+]...FIRE!!!", Adrenaline pumping music score, *Rotating Beacons*, FAST ACTION game.
The Jagov kicker surprises every single first time player.
The response is always "WTF"?

CLASSIC Steve Ritchie design.
The first "superb condition" used pinball I EVER bought in 1988.
I have owned FOUR (I don't know why I kept selling them).
The one (and LAST) I currently have is a unused prototype with different colored playfield "arrow inserts".

Great cost versus fun pinball machine to own.
Very good first pinball machine to buy, maybe even a older children family title.
Still obtainable for well under $2k.
Don't use LEDs in this case, new collectors, unless you want to be completely blind in 30 minutes.
You really do not need more "blue" in this game, guys, geez...(see archive photos).

The best bang for the buck when it comes to fun and satisfaction. Newer games tend to be a marathon and this a perfect machine to compliment a deep rule-set line-up. It is amazing to think the light show comes from an eighties game and the beacon lights will make the neighbors wonder what is going on inside the house. A typical game last 2-5 minutes and a good third ball can give you all of the satisfaction you need even after a bad 1st and 2nd ball. Because the game is so fast, you do not tend to get bored during the game and you do not get the feeling you need to restart after a minute in to it. It has the "one more game" factor to it and knowing that the one more game will not eat in to the entire evening, it a classic must own machine.

This game is awesome. Blazing fast fun with great balanced rule design. Like most system 11s it doesn't have much depth, but due to the speed and out-of-control nature of the game, it never starts to feel tiresome or old. The lighting and sound are awesome, and the beacons are a great touch.

Also this game has some of the best music in all of pinball. Fits the game incredibly well and makes playing it even more fun.
