I really don't like Elvis' music at all and was almost reluctant to play it, but while sitting in between flights with nothing else to do i started playing. I loved it, again not many people agree with me i just found it fun and entertaining, I put a good chunk of change into that one... and possibly will be looking for it in the future.

If you could change the opening song from See See Rider it would be a better game. Becomes a little old hat by having that song always open. Great game regardless. Good flow, challenging shots, great theme. Graceland is a good Wizard mode.

Pity this game was not released with the modern Sam system that could have given it ac/Dc style audio.

I have no real strong feelings for Elvis and his music one way or the other, but boy do I like this table. I had played a number of them on location and they were always filthy and half working. I bought my own and really have a blast playing it.
The only thing that annoys me about it is that the game always starts by playing 'See See Rider' which can get a little annoying by your tenth game in a row.
Fantastic flow and modes and lighting and a great upper playfield.

Its fun but feels cheap compared to Sterns of it era, I play it on location, but Im not dying to play it...theme is a bust for me, hard to fall in love with it.

I find this to be a stunning pin and love anything ELVIS so this opinion is defiantly bias!! Cabinet art with the deep red and blacks make this more of a center piece pin. Excellent color choices used on the pin.

Whereas the game design could have been arranged better to make for better flow and more challenging the game theme with actual songs sung by the King himself and the little toy Elvis shaking his hips and mic to the tune is just flat cool.

I own this pin and will most likely own it for many, many years. This game just flat sounds great, look great, and plays great. Shots are plentiful with many different choices on how to try to "get to Graceland". Severla different mulitball versions, with VERY clear ruleset and playfield guidance, even newbies to this pin will be able to pick it up and try to better their score time and time again.

Its a fun machine. had a blast on it for bout an hour. Not a huge elvis fan, so the theme doesnt hold my attention, and the 'flash bulb' effect that they use is pretty annoying as it briefly blinds you during the game. Other than that great machine, probably more so if your an elvis fan.

Elvis is a game that seems to be designed well by Steve Ritchie and then when it got to the artwork... the Elvis family estate committee came in and had their say.

The Pros:
Good shot selection and toys that do not seem to get in the way of the game itself. I like the heartbreak hotel shot as it requires you to make a tricky shot during multiball with other balls flying around the lower PF. The shoot the ramp shot from roller games is implemented as it should be. Ritchie Flow is in full effect. The saucer shot locks as compared to the LOTR Gollum VUK, but it works 1000% better. The rollergames magnet by the upper right flipper is a welcome trip down pinball memory lane.

The Cons:
There's 7 images of the Elvi with his name in big red letters behind the central figure. We get it. This game is about...

Elvis.

So why does it not seem to matter? I could harp on the DMD animations, the PF graphics clutter, but it does not matter. I am just not feeling this theme on this game. You'd better have strong flippers if you are going to make your shots around the orbits or the ramps. Dance Dance (pin pin) fever is completely memorizable. Same thing with ST:TNG... what is it with these video modes written in stone?

The Takeaway:
This game plays great. It's fun to play. But I get the idea that if this game was themed just about anything else... it would still play great. What do you think about a Mr. Rogers pinball game with this playfield... so, won't you be my neighbor? How about a pinball game themed on BACON!

The King is dead... long live the King...

I am not an Elvis fan...I apologize for finding the backglass truly horrible. This is probably the reason why I waited so long to play that game. I found it at a Pinshow and played it for a while. Simply couldn't get into it - I must confess that music at the lowest possible level and an ACDC pin nearby much louder did not help. The upper playfield is dull, but the game has some potential. One would probably need many games to enjoy this one - I suspect this is possible, but I was not patient enough.

Edit: found another machine and could play it for a while. I must admit I was a bit harsh. Upgraded my ratings accordingly

I liked playing "Elvis", great music and fun game play. I'm not a big Elvis fan by any means, but I really did enjoy the pin. Give it a shot if you find it.

You don't have to be an Elvis fan to enjoy this one. Love the dancing Elvis and the Heartbreak hotel.

I believe this is one of Stern's best as well and most user friendly games to play. The game moves great with the ball flow and is nice to have a new version that came out with four flippers and upper playfield to play which is not a bad game. Yes, you don't have to be a big fan of Elvis but this game moves and has fun shots where the ball does not go SDTM like on AC/DC. I had a lot of fun playing this game at my local bar before the one of the owners decided to take it out for golf game. Oh well, I always would play off 2 dollars for at least 3 hrs getting free games. Maybe this has something to do with my rating but after playing it wherever I can find it is always fun so it must be a good game if I keep going back to it.

Not as bad as i would have expected. I'm not an Elvis fan, but this pin sounded good and the music complemented it well. The sparse upper playfield seemed like a waste of space. Oh, and I am definitely not a fan of the pink and purple playfield.

I've played this game a bunch of times at the Silverball in Asbury Park. If I'd had to pay-per-play, I wouldn't have tried it many times at all. It's just not a fun game.

As someone who can't stand Elvis, I still like this machine. Playing this is the only time I can actually tolerate any of his music. It is always fun to get Heartbreak hotel. Although it has been a while since I have last played it, I would still consider purchasing one if I could find a cheap enough price.

Elvis isn't a bad game. It's just not one of my favorites. The rules fell a bit flat for me which resulted in it not feeling as fun to play as I had hoped. The layout is decent to shoot with the unique "Heartbreak Hotel" upper playfield. The gold ramps look great for this theme. The animated, dancing Elvis toy is a nice touch although it doesn't offer much to the gameplay since it has no direct interaction with the ball. The unique "Guitar Hero"-like video mode, while usually praised by others, just became annoying to me after a while. The artwork on this game feels phoned-in, especially the translite. The overall playfield color scheme is pretty damn ugly although I'm sure grandmas love it.

I think this game is often overlooked and underrated due to the theme. The artwork, layout and theming on this game are all top notch. I really like the choice of colors used and Stern's choice of white rubber to brighten the game up. The layout has a lot in common with ACDC from the left drop target bank, left orbit/spinner, placement of the ramps, and right orbit mode start shot. The game shoots really well and the upper playfield is very well integrated (love the right ramp shot over the upper playfield). The rule-set is pretty basic but works well as the game tends to have low ball times due to the drainy outlanes. The Graceland wizard mode is fantastic (tour Graceland) as is Encore mode. It is also one of the few Stern games with a video mode. Overall I wouldn't rate this game amongst the best Stern games like LOTR, SM, ACDC and TSPP because the general rule-set is pretty mediocre (sans the wizard mode) but I would rank this game in the 2nd tier of Stern games along with gems such as RBION, Tron, and Family Guy.

Hitting the hound dog is good for a laugh, but ball just bounces around too much.
