I HATE gobble holes ---- but will make an exception in this case. The designers traded out lanes, for two gobble holes. And in this case I think it was a good trade. The lower section of the play field can uses the entire width of the table. Leaving room for the two five point "six shooter" kick outs. I do think the game designers should have made them 6 points, just for fun. With no ability to cradle the ball, and a very narrow shot up both sides to get the ball back to the top of the play field. Makes this a challenging shot maker. And, there is the interesting challenge of getting the gobble hole up to 300 points, then deciding, do I shoot for the 300 point gobble hole when I can? Or keep playing for more points, but risk losing the ball down the middle or into the 30 point gobble hole.
Overall for 1961, an interesting fun game.
