Gotta love a new Pat Lawlor game! I got to play this for the first time at TPF a few weeks ago and loved it!

When I first played this a while back I left thinking lots of bling and no theme, I was wrong. I ended up playing a few other times and got the itch to own it so I bought one. After I was able to hear all the sounds it started to pull me into the DI world. The shoots really smooth and lots of shots to keep you busy. I’m a sucker for 3+ flippers so love that part of the game. I’ve only owned this game for a week so I still need to see how it lasts in my small line up, but so far I’m really impressed with all aspects of the game. Sound is good but not as good as The Hobbit, the lighting is top notch, the animations need some love, the toys and shots are excellent probably one of the best I’ve played. I sold my Metallica pro to fund this pin and don’t regret it....not one bit. I ended up selling this pin but had fun while it lasted. The SIM card shot was a big part of me moving on. After you put in all the work to complete the modes it feels like the game doesn’t reward you because you have to hit the sim hole which is almost as hard as a hole in one. I really like games that have a reachable wizard mode and the SIM card shot made the wizard mode pretty much unreachable.

Pat Lawlers best. JJP's best. My favorite pin of all time! The layout and rules are so much fun.. and I absolutely love the original theme, especially since the modern pinball world is comprised of mostly licensed and non-original themes. DI is essentially a modern day old-school Ballys/Williams machine and I love it! Super original, original music and sounds, and the one-more-game feel I think was lacking in my previous JJP pins. They nailed it!!! GREAT game.

I recently got to try it out at a show. I loved it. The rules are easy to understand even in a hectic environment like a show. It's now my all time fav.

I thought DI looked giddy when I saw pics of the unveiling, but this game is really fun. I love the selfie mode. I do find it a little confusing, it's hard to tell what you're supposed to be doing much of the time, and what your progress through the challenges is, but I'm sure that would come with time and experience.

Excellent game that is seriously underrated. Layout is fantastic as are the sounds and rules. A game everyone can enjoy and is still reasonably priced.

Only knock is theme and resell-ability.

I went into this one thinking I'd hate it. The theme looked terrible and I felt that the cell phone craze had finally hit pinball and felt like it was going to be really stupid. (You can play on your cell phone instead of the flipper buttons? Really?) However, I was absolutely blown away by everything else about it. The layout, toys, gimmicks, sound, lighting, and just overall interactivity of the machine are nearly impossible to match. After the second game I now plan on buying one by the end of the year even with it being out of my budget. I haven't been so blown away by a pinball machine since the first time I played Theatre of Magic (my all time fav). I just have to have this machine....

A very good pinball with a smooth and original layout. Toys and gameplay are great with excellent rules.
Definitely a real 2.0 vision of what a modern pinball machine can be. Great job from JJP and with a good quality build. A real masterpiece.

I finally spent some time on this pin and it was exactly as advertised. Solid build quality. Great shots. Smooth. Very unique, original design. The theme is ok, it's better once you play it than it sounds. It's quirky and even silly, using humor and an offbeat attitude in contrast to the natural disaster theme. It's gimmicky, but mostly in a good way. When it comes down to the most important things, for me, it plays great, feels great and is very well designed. It only loses points because of the somewhat odd mix of ideas and concepts, but they definitely don't outweigh the fact that this pin was built with skill and talent and originality. I can see this one lasting a good, long while in a collection. But, I agree with those who wonder - will it age well? It's fun, and has that one-more-game feel.

UPDATE - I've owned this one for a few weeks now, and I agree this is one of the best made and designed games in many years. I am a Pat Lawlor fan, I enjoy his ramps and unusual angles and side shots. This is a very nice effort from Lawlor after a few years away from pinball. JJP was smart to add him to their team, especially after Balcer left to make Houdini. I always felt WOZ was a great design that may have been even better had Lawlor been involved. Dialed In is fun and SUPER smooth, it feels great just to shoot ramps and make shots. Scoring is very hard. You are barely awarded any real points until you complete modes, and collect SIM cards. If you don't complete modes, hit BIG BANG! when lit and collect SIM cards (by hitting the very tricky SIM card scoop located right where you'd expect Lawlor to put it) you won't really score well. But that's the depth of Dialed In. It's perfectly fine and fun for beginners, but it's very, very deep with 11 (I think) disaster modes you must complete (not merely start) and 8 (I think) SIM cards to collect to get to the wizard mode. I'm maybe 50 games into DI, and so far I have yet to collect more than 2 SIM cards in a game! That kind of deep challenge makes people (me at least) keep coming back. Also, the camera, which takes your selfie, is used for more than just that. You have to wave your hand in front of the camera to scratch off tickets and get bonuses! Genius. Sound is good, music is ok, but the speakers produce some low key buzz or feedback that is odd for such a sophisticated machine. I hear others have this issue too. Overall, fantastic pin that gets better and better as you get to know it.

I had the chance to play several games on a Dialed In LE this weekend. It is a interesting, attractive game with an unique theme. Problem for me is that I never really quite 'got it'. But, I was slow to fully appreciate the WOZ and TH too and now I own and love both. Given the reputation of JJP games I am sure that it will do well. It plays very fast and the targets and game rules will make it a challenge for most players. But, its theme just isn't for me. Now I am looking forward to playing a POTC and considering it for my next game. But, MBR is numero uno for me on my wish list. It has to be MBR and I believe fully that it will be. Just makes way too much sense!
UPDATE TO MY COMMENTS; I NOTE THAT 3 PINSIDERS FLAGGED THEM. WHY? WHAT DID I SAY THAT OFFENDED THEM? ITS SEEMS LIKE THERE IS A CADRE OF DI ZEALOTS THAT DEMANDS ALLEGIANCE TO THEIR 'CHURCH" AND 'HOLY TRUTH' OR BANISHMENT IS CERTAIN. WHAT RUBBISH! YOU 3 ARE WHAT IS WRONG WITH OUR COUNTRY NOW; NO OPPORTUNITY FOR DISSENTING OPINIONS AND CONSTRUCTIVE DISCUSSION. TOO BAD THAT 3 PINSIDERS FORGOT TO WEAR THEIR BIG BOY PANTS.
5/2/2020 UPDATE:
I read on JJP's FACEBOOK page that they had only a few DI LE's left and it was time to get one if one was thinking of doing so. I remembered that I was not originally a fan of POTC nor the Hobbit but having gotten each and playing them a bit, they quickly became favorites for me. I thought I might experience the same phenomenon with DI and so I gave it another chance and starting studying all of the YOUTUBE videos on the game. I learned a lot from those and decided I should get the game while I still could. After all, JJP games have never disappointed me. Well, I now have a DI LE and I am loving it. The theme is still a bit 'strange' to me but, damn it, it works. And the game play is fun and zany and the light show is great. Like all of my other JJP's, I expect to own and play DI for a long time. It wasn't love at first sight, far from it, but better late than never. Accordingly, I have updated all of my rating to reflect my current opinions of the game.

Surprising pin. A pin based on our cellphone culture?? But it did it well. Feels like a Sim City pinball. Playfield is crowded, probably on the heavy side. Only issue I had was the charging guy target which will move around and can block ball straight down the middle. I get it-don’t make that shot.
The pin does a nice job of using the voice talent and animations to get you in the game. The selfie mode is hilarious but probably has triggered seizures. It might not age well, but for now is a solid addition to any game room.

Too many licensed theme junkies. This is Lawlor's most fun design by far. Way to go JJP for going against the grain and taking a risk with throwback custom theme that is intentionally cheesy and fun. What a game!

Is it good? Oh yes it is! It's awesome (And Jack Guarnieri did not pay me to tell that :P)! It reminds me of the 90ies, gameplay and feeling-wise, but with nowadays technology. Solid Williams-Style build, premium feel for a premium price. I would say it's one of Lawlor's best games - if not the best. It's not as fast as some of the modern Sterns, but it has its own pace and it really delivers in terms of flow. The modes are diversified and fun - and to all of you out there thinking that this is about a cellphone - it is not - at least not exclusively. It's yet another disaster theme. Think of the phone as just another gimmick to start your modes - and the title "Dialed in" really shines in that context. I absolutely love this one - I might even get one. I consider it a masterpiece and I guess that this might well become a modern classic. Sure - one could argue about the theme, but it's a memorable one with a strong character. And yes, finally an original one - Something that I've been missing lately.

EDIT1: I finally got one - because I decided that I could not live without owning what I consider being the best pinball game at the moment. This game doesn't stop to amaze me, it is a piece of art. Superb layout and flow, and the theme - well, it's brilliant! It is way more genius than most people who claim that this is about a cellphone would assume.

It is fun, cheesy and it is a perfect reflection of what is going on in our society: Cellphones, drones, a news channel, selfies, surveillance, emojis - and a "trustworthy" tech giant. Pat and his team really nailed it - I mean - they are rather "old men", but they absolutely captured the spirit of now and made an excellent game out of it.

Both game and presentation are State of the Art - What a freaking blast! My other 90ies tables now look like ancient technology compared to this. If you are looking for the best Pat Lawlor game - there's a high chance that this might be it. Pinball doesn't get much better than this. It's expensive, but considering the efforts that have been put into this, it's well worth it.

Great respect and admiration to Pat Lawlor & Team and to Jersey Jack for building this!
I am really excited of what is about to come. The new era of pinball has just begun...

EDIT2: After weeks of playing it, I guess that this might be my all time favourite pin. I'd like to give it a 10/10 - but nothing is perfect and so there's one thing that is not so cool: One of the most important shots - the SIM-Card - is freakingly annoying. Turns out to be quite random, which is a pity for an otherwise nearly perfect machine.

This game has flow for days, combos for weeks and a light show that is simply dialed in. If this game had callouts at the level of AF,TZ,AFM the game would be the single best game I have ever played. Hands down amazing game. The code isnt finished so neither are the rules but this is a drug I need more of.

Absolutely outstanding title!!! I liked pretty much everything about it. My only gripes really are that the rules/modes are kind of hard for me to keep up with and makes me feel like to much is going on all at once. I'd own one for sure if I had the room.

I played dialed in, and finally bought one. The theme doesn’t bother me at all. It is a really fun pin, that puts a smile on my face, and keeps me coming back for more...all the time. A really excellent pin.

I generally gravitate towards non-licensed original themes, but this theme sucks. The theme however is the only negative thing about the machine. Everything else on this machine is amazing. The flow, game play, lastibility, and rules are all 10 in my book. If my friend (a half mile away) didn't have one, it would be in my collection. After posting, I came back to note that I have rated this table higher than anything I have rated before. And No, I don't own one.

Fantastic pin ! Jersey Jack's best effort to date. Reminds me of the great Williams 90's pin's but with today's technology. Nothing i dont like about it. When your wife wants to play pinball you know it's a Winner.

Usually not a Pat Lawlor fan but i respect his creativity , already played 30 hours in 15 days , love the flow and gameplay despite curious theme

A really great pin , in my top 10 , i wish i own one !)

From reading other reviews people down play the subject matter of this pin. Sorry subject matter makes this pin full of potential less than stellar. Just can’t get into this one at all. A few cool features and some good shots wasted on this one. Much better choices in a Lawlor pin than this one.

Pat Lawlor really should have stopped after Twilight Zone. This game is Lame. Cellphone interaction??? I guess it lends itself to the adhd world we live in. Fail.
