Crocodile hunter is to be the first original pinball machine manufactured by "The Pinball Factory", an Austrailian venture,
combining both the private engineering capability of owner Wayne
Gillard (aka, "Mr. Pinball Australia"), and patents/intellectual
property of the defunct Williams Pinball Mfg., purchased by Mr. Gillard
in 2005.
The game theme is based around famous wildlife expert Steve Irwin, also known as "The Crocodile Hunter". He achieved world-wide fame from the television program The Crocodile Hunter, an internationally broadcast wildlife documentary series co-hosted with his wife Terri Irwin. Together, they also co-owned and operated Australia Zoo, founded by his parents in Beerwah, Queensland. He died in 2006 after his chest was fatally pierced by a stingray barb.
Not much is known about the game but that it is on hold after Steve's death and that currently two prototypes exists with unfinished playfield artwork.
I had emailed the foundation/zoo over a year ago before Mr Irwin died and they said they knew nothing of any pinball machine. It's a pipe dream.
