Cosmos (Black Test-Sample)

Bally

Cosmos (Black Test-Sample)

The black COSMOS from summer 1968 was an idea from designer Jerry K. Kelley but the Bally management called it too sinister and the colours had to be changed for serial-production, which started early in 1969.

A very strange decision from Bally because the black FLASH cabinet revolutionized the look of pinball forever, 10 years later.

Bally was transformed from a Company to a Corporation at the end of 1968 and both models have different apron-designs therefore.

Approximately 160 black models were manufactured, only with english lettering.
