The machine itself is quite entertaining to play. The layout is visually stimulating and the flow is pretty nice. This game would rate higher for me if it didn't have the "AMY" track....Very annoying voice. sorta "Elmo-ish"

Pluses: Large variety of challenging shots. Volcano is cool and is one of the most satisfying shots in pinball.
Negatives. Chasing diamonds seems silly (I didn't see the movie so this may have some significance that escapes me). The lower playfield Gorilla seems contrived.

Congo is simply a lot of fun. It has variety of shots the volcano ramp and the Amy ramp are both very unique. Skillfire and Midnight Madness are very cool features along with the under playfield this game has a lot going on. The rules are not real deep but they are very straightforward which make the game fun for all levels of players. I think the game has a very solid feel to it and should be rated higher. To me I would have Congo at the top of the bang for my buck list.

I LOVE CONGO!! It's the game that's really helped me get into pinball. It's just difficult enough to be fun, but not frustrating. I love the gorilla playfield, and the volcano is awesome. Playing with three flippers is a lot of fun as well, and adds more shots to the playing field. The skill shot is funny, when the guy says "skill shot" when you hit it, it sounds more like "you suck." It took us a long time to even figure out it was the skill shot.

Really, really liked this game when I got to play it at Pinburgh. I kept coming back to it and it grew on me every time. The backglass sucks, but the playfield art is nice. Shots feel very good and has a nice flow to it. On my wish list.

Way better than it should be. That volcano shot is difficult but extremely satisfying. The gorilla under the playfield is cool too. I only have two major complaints. 1. The skill shot sucks. Whether you hit it or not, it just sends the ball out of control all over the lower playfield. and there is no way really to softplunge or avoid this. I guess the ballsaver eliminates the sting of losing your ball so quickly but it really sucks just starting out and watching crazy drains off the bat. 2. The video cave mode is far too heavily weighted points wise. It's nothing more than basic memorization, and as it doesn't change they basically hand you 150 Mil if you do it right.

Nice adventure game. Modes have to be earned which makes it pretty unique and fun.

Pretty good playing game, nice flow, some neat toys, lower playfiled is fun. The music gets old, and I am not a fan of the translite. Decent game for the price they seem to go for.

Excellent layout for a game with quite boring theme.

There is quite much in the ruleset, but in my opinion the game would have been so much better with some other wizard mode than the flail around mode Super Multiball.

This one surprised the heck out of me. The movie wasn't all that great, so I figured the pin was going to follow suit. Boy was I wrong! Easily one of John Trudeau's best pins; up there with the legendary CFTBL, JD, and BoP (yes, its that good). Like-it or hate-it art package (cabinet art is pretty sweet, at least). This game is really fun to play and has a lot of features. Interesting PF layout (skill shot is great), nice ramps (the one leading up to a erupting toy volcano is so cool), and a very fun mini-PF where you bank shots off a toy gorilla (Black Hole/Haunted House-like playfield under the playfield). Includes some fun sound effects. The wierd monkey-screaming sfx from a ball popper-eject event, always makes me laugh. Lots of multiball & fun video modes (rafting video mode & cave search). Very good budget-priced game if you can find one, as production numbers were small. "Amy like pinball!"

Excellent Flow, Multi-Ball modes, Light-Shows, etc. Amazingly deep rule-sets, hidden modes/features, DMD Animations, etc. If you want to own a machine in the league of Medieval Madness, Cactus Canyon, Monster Bash, Tales of the Arabian Nights, Etc.- at a fraction of the cost- look no further! Truely UNDER-RATED!!!!!

Congo is challenging and everybody is gleeful to shoot into the volcano, but the lower playfield is disappointing and feels empty. Shooter needs to use all the flippers to really explore the playfield.
