Version 1.01 - November 2022 Rule changes & related improvements: - Bowling: * When all Bowling Balls are collected, instead of choosing a bowling opponent, you now always play a normal bowling frame and the "Ball collected" animation is no longer shown. * You don't have to finish all 10 frames to be eligible for the Bowling high score list. All remaining frames will be marked 0. * In the scorecard use "-" instead of "0" to indicate gutter balls / missed shots. - Mark It Zero: * Can no longer be lit multiple times. It proved too easy to do with Walter's bowling ball perk, and was confusing players. * Instead a 50k award is given when completing Z-E-R-O when Mark It Zero is already lit (in addition to the timer being reset if you don't have Walter's bowling ball). * The Mark It Zero score award is now incremented by 50k each time instead of 100k. - Multiball: * Maude's bowling ball perk now only pre-lits the Super Jackpot until you collect it one time. Subsequent multiballs won't pre-lite the Super Jackpot until you finish The Dude Abides and re-collect Maude's bowling ball. * Limited Add-A-Ball to 1 time per (regular) Multiball. Improvements: - Handle the "Can't start Rug Mode 5 due to active car mode" scenario more gracefully: * Show message on screen indicating the rug mode can't be started accompanied by a callout. * Give a score similar to a rug hit. * Don't count the ball rolling from rug hole to scoop as a scoop hit (bugfix). - Adjusted hardware REV settings' value names to include newer revisions, without changing the underlying implementation. - Added setting "Adjustment Menu -> Pricing / Awards -> Match enabled" giving you the option to disable the Match sequence. - Added a new submenu "Profiles & Highscores Menu": * Added functionality to "Delete all highscores" and "Delete highscores" of individual profiles. * Added functionality to "Delete all profiles". - Added support for a "Scoop Opto" switch replacement via the new "Mod Connector Breakout Board". - Made The Stranger's "shuush" / "bummer dude" callouts more random/infrequent. - Safer update process (starting with the next update). Failure rate will be lower and the new version won't show up in the version select list unless the installation was completed. Bugfixes: - When the second to last ball drains in Character Multiball, a late saucer shot with Mark It Zero and a new character lit, will now correctly result in the Character Multiball being extended. - In The Dude Abides Multiball, if the last 2 balls drained within 5 seconds, the delayed flipper mode would stay active on the next ball. - Fixed "Extra ball is lit" message staying visible in Mark It Zero animations after the extra ball was lit the first time. - Fixed during multiball, when lighting Mark It Zero while the ball is in the saucer and showing the previous Mark It Zero animation, the ball wouldn't be ejected. - Fixed pressing back while "Setting saved" was showing would cause that message to stay visible and that particular setting screen would no longer be usable. Version 1.00 - October 2022 Rule changes & related improvements: - The Dude Abides (Wizard Mode) implemented: * Stage 1 - Single ball (you can drain during this stage and continue on the next ball): > Shoot lit Character Shot (this opens up the rug) > Optional: Repeat the Character Shot to go bowling while ball is in play (with the launch button). A Bowling Jackpot in Stage 1 will also add the corresponding bowling ball multiplier to Stage 2! > Shoot the rug hole to advance to the next character. The rug then closes again. > Advance the 5 main characters to continue to Stage 2. * Stage 2 - Multiball: > Character Jackpots (main character shots) > Bowling Jackpot (repeat character shots, similar to stage 1, but now you go bowling while multiple balls are in play) > Rug Jackpot (open the rug and shoot rug hole) > Car Jackpot (shoot the car, upper flipper disables after each hit) > Nihilist Jackpot (complete the 3 nihilist targets) > White Russian Jackpot (complete white russian targets) > Mark It Zero Jackpot (complete Z-E-R-O lanes) - Let's Go Bowling: * Added "Hit the gap!" bowling challenge. * Added "Complete the Split!" bowling challenge. * Added Bowling ball perks. When you collect a ball you will enjoy its perk till you start The Dude Abides. > Donny: Easier Car Modes. Less parking target hits required and car modes begin with some progress. > The Dude: Easier Rug Modes. Less rug hits required and rug modes begin with some progress. > Maude: Super Jackpot pre-lit. Super Jackpot is lit at the start of Multiball (left ramp). > Jesus: Easier BOWLING spelling. Less bowling loop hits required. > Walter: Untimed Mark It Zero. Mark It Zero no longer times out and even carries over to the next ball(s). * The scorecard now actually shows the "official" bowling scoring, making it possible to complete a 10 frame bowling game, including extra throws in the 10th frame. * After 10 frames the Bowling Super Jackpot is awarded, which is the bowling score multiplied by 25k. So a max jackpot value of 300 * 25k = 7.5M can be collected. * There is now a separate high score list for finished 10 frame bowling games. You will get prompted for this when you finish your regular game. * Non-traditional bowling challenges are scored as follows: if the challenge is met with 1 ball, it's a strike, if 2 balls are needed it's a spare. Fail a challenge and we mark the frame zero! * Removed score award for collecting a bowling ball. This was awarded together with the award for completing the bowling challenge which was unclear. * Removed score award you would get when failing "Spare or Strike!" challenge (was 25k per pin). Spare is now 200k, strike is 250k. * The pin values of the "Hit the roaming pin" challenge have been adjusted and are now also worth 50k less on the 2nd throw. * Walter will now complain when you select him as a bowling challenger on Shabbos (saturday). If your date/time is off you can change this in the PC's BIOS for now. * If the ball skips over the bowling launcher, this should now be ignored and the ball will be re-served without counting as thrown ball. - Improvements to all multiball modes: * The Maude rollover lanes now stay enabled to increase your bonus multiplier. * Z-E-R-O rollover lanes now stay enabled to light Mark It Zero and collect it in the saucer. * Spinner now stays enabled to progress towards and light Mystery (to collect at scoop after multiball has ended). * MPF ramp: playfield multiplier 1.5X to 5X that quickly decreases over time. * Newly plunged balls now go around the left loop instead of the rollovers, to prevent "free" rewards in that area (Maude spelling / bonus multiplier / Knox Harrington jackpot). * Added a 2.5 seconds grace period when you drain the second to last ball, so you have a moment to shoot a last jackpot or add-a-ball. * Added quick extra ball & Mark It Zero animations used during multiballs. * More varied jackpot callouts. - Character Multiball: * After starting Character Multiball with less than 5 characters, the other main characters can now be added to the multiball by spelling their names and then shooting the saucer. * For every added main character a ball is added. Also the amount of balls is now "1 + amount of characters", no longer just "amount of characters". * Only the characters that you started the multiball with will multiply each others' jackpots, so starting with multiple characters is still prefered. * Added side character jackpots at previously unused shots, these require gradually more hits when collecting a second or third time: > Brandt: 2 Saucer hits > Bunny: 8 Right slingshot hits > Jackie Treehorn: 2 Light Trampoline target hits > Knox Harrington: 10 Jet hits > Marty: 4 Lock target hits > Nihilists: 4 Parking target hits, or Nihilist target hits if Nihilist Showdown is lit. > The Big Lebowski: 8 Left slingshot hits > The Stranger: 2 Scoop hits > Thugs: 2 Rug hits * MPF scoop: relight all jackpots or if all jackpots are already lit: increase the jackpot values of the active main characters. * Added sound effects to accompany jackpot and jackpot increase animations. - Multiball: * The rug now houses a double jackpot, requires two hits to open the rug (+1 on each consecutive jackpot round), and shoot the hole to collect. * MPF scoop: collect a random lit jackpot or if only super jackpot is lit: increase the normal jackpot value. * Added sound effects to accompany the Add-A-Ball animations. * Added callouts to bring attention to the Super Jackpot when it's lit. - Nihilist Showdown: * Added a "Wave Jackpot" at the end of each wave (200k, 400k, 600k etc.). * Arrow shots are lit once each wave to increase the Wave Jackpot value by 50k (and the shot itself scores 25k). * If you start Nihilist Showdown a 2nd time you start it at the wave you ended the last time, with the same increased Wave Jackpot value. * Nihilist targets are now 50k (was 100k) and this value doesn't increase every wave. * White Russians can now be added during this multiball. * An extra ball can now be collected when lit during this multiball. * The wave jackpot value is now always shown at the top of the screen. * Fixed Nihilist targets being able to generate multiple hits during Nihilist Showdown. - Mystery: * Added mystery is lit animation. * If you shoot the scoop and nothing is lit, you are awarded 5 spinner hits, to progress towards mystery. * Added the distinction of 3 mystery levels. After lighting mystery (level 1) you can continue hitting the spinner to light mystery level 2 and 3 which contain more significant awards. * To light mystery now requires 25 spinner hits (was 30) and this increases after each award with 5 hits (was 10). * New awards: > "Award lock" > "Increase mystery level" > "15 Second ball saver" > "Hold bonus X" > "Collect Mark It Zero!" > "Spot 1 bowling frame" > "Spot 2 bowling frames" > "Start Multiball" > "Light Nihilist Showdown" > "250.000 Points" > "750.000 Points" > "2.000.000 Points" > "Award bowling ball" > "Spot car mode" > "Spot rug mode" > "Spot two rug modes" * Removed award "White Russian added" - Character name spelling: * Added 3 Bunny clips to The Dude's collection of clips. * When a character's name has already been spelled and you shoot their shot again, a clip is now played following the jackpot value increased screen. - Rug modes: * New music for Rug modes 5 & 6, now every rug mode has its own music track. * Added 2 clips to Rug Mode 6, so no clips are repeated. - Car modes: * Don't have to be completed anymore by default. Similar to the rug modes you only have to start them to qualify the Wizard Goal. * Added setting "Adjustment Menu -> TBL Rules -> Car modes must be completed", default is "No". For "hard" and "extra hard" difficulty presets the default is "Yes". - Mark It Zero: * Can now be lit multiple times (if you complete Z-E-R-O quick enough consecutively), but only collected one at a time at the saucer. > If timed (normal), the next timer will start after the previous has timed out or collected. > If untimed (Walter's bowling ball perk), after collecting Mark It Zero it will be lit again at the saucer. * Added setting "Adjustment Menu -> TBL Rules -> Mark It Zero scenes to complete". The default is now 4, and ranges from 2 (extra easy) to 6 (extra hard). * When the "Mark It Zero" Wizard Goal is lit, you will be shown a quick animation instead of a full scene; the score award is still awarded. * Show progress bar (towards "Mark It Zero" Wizard Goal) around the icon after collecting. - White Russians: * Free refills! After completing the White Russian targets, you can refill partly full White Russians for "free" and then continue to select another White Russian. * This enables you to also use the White Russians on the upper playfield, which wasn't possible before. * This means White Russians are no longer "stackable" (introduced in 0.46). To achieve higher multipliers during multiball you can instead use the new playfield multiplier on the upper playfield. - Skillshot(s): * the lit M-A-U-D-E letters are now cycled around so the lit skillshot lane is an unlit Maude letter as well. * Rug skillshot: if rug is already open (lit), then don't show Skillshot / Rug Mode Ready anymore, it overlaps with the rug mode intro. The "Skillshot!" callout remains plus a scoring icon. Other Improvements: - Added "Coin Door is open" display message & sound. - Changed volume settings to a 0-100% scale (from a legacy 0-31 scale). - Changed default audio balance with the 3 existing settings: "Music volume", "SFX volume" and "Voice volume", which now default to 40%, 87% and 81% (was all 75%). - Attract mode: * Added Bowling high scores for 10 frame bowling games. * High scores now also show first and last name from the corresponding player profiles. * Added default high scores and bowling scores with initials and names of movie characters. * Added team credits in "Gutterballs" style (shows once in every 4 attract mode cycles). * Test Report message now shows up after 2.5 seconds and removed the accompanying callouts. * Added some new lightshows. - Test Report: * The Coin Door (interlock) switch is no longer marked as unused. * Ball resting switches are now marked "Closed" instead of "Stuck closed". * If Trough 6 is closed it now suggests to remove a 6th ball if present. - Added earning audits (they start at 0 as there is no historical data). - The player profile Highscores page now shows Top 25 scores and paginates instead of slowly scrolling. - The player profile Trophies page added, listing all trophies and whether the player has collected them. - Added 8 more trophies (aka achievements), making a total of 24. - Fixed some audio slip ups in Family Mode (Rug Mode 6 and Extra Ball animations). - Added 1st Tilt Warning sound (only a callout was played). - Show segments in progress bar around icons so the amount of steps is more discernible. And many more small tweaks and updates to code and assets.. Enjoy! Version 0.59 - July 2022 Improvements: - Car modes end: Wait 1 second to close the car door after the last shot, to prevent balls bouncing and getting stuck behind it. Bugfixes: - Fixed music stopping after the intro until other music is started. Most prevalent after skipping a rug mode intro. - Fixed ball search stopping mid-cycle if a switch would trigger (often through vibration or mechanical action). - Rug Mode 2: standup targets could progress the mode during the intro if they were adjusted too sensitive, causing a hung state. Also added checks to other rug modes. - Since v0.58 balls wouldn't get ejected during attract mode (or it would take a very long time), resulting in balls being stuck in scoop, VUK, saucer. Version 0.58 - December 2021 Improvements: - Rug Mode 5: Wait 1 second to close the car door after the last shot, to prevent balls bouncing and getting stuck behind it. - Refined the USB export functionality (more descriptive file names to distinguish exports). - Added USB database import "Software Menu > USB import" which enables to import a database that was exported on the same or another machine. - Faster update process (starting with the next update). Bugfixes: - Since v0.56 the bonus total would not be correctly calculated (too low) if you had 2 or more of a category. - Since v0.56 the Character Multiball jackpot values earned and showed would not match if the jackpot value was increased (100.000 earned, 125.000 showed for example), the earned amount being too low. - Fixed scoop shot not awarding the lit award the first time you hit it after starting a rug mode but possibly also some other cases. - Pause timers more consistently during animations (Rug intro & outro). - When spelling T-H-E-D-U-D-E there was a 1 out of 10 chance no clip would play. - The Nihilist Showdown intro could crash the game if a Nihilist target was hit (or closed due to vibrations?) during the intro. - Don't play "Let's Go Bowling" callout twice in a short time (lit/started) (could still happen sometimes despite the fix in 0.56). - The compensation for a malfunctioning Bowling opto added in 0.54 was not active in the roaming pin challenge, now it is. - In attract mode, if a ball was launched from the shooter lane, fixed the accompanying sound being repeated a few times. - Stop video clip audio overlapping in rug modes if two consecutive shots were done in quick succession. Version 0.57 - September 2021 Improvements: - Prevent the switching power supply from repeatedly clicking after startup or closing the coin door. - Only power the bowling launcher stepper motor when necessary, this should prevent some unwanted noise from this motor. - Ball search: * The upper flipper now goes up for 2 seconds to allow a stuck ball to roll away from behind it. * The car door is now opened during the 2nd, 4th, 6th etc. ball search to allow a stuck ball to escape. Bugfixes: - In Multiball, since v0.56: * Jackpot values earned and showed would not match (400.000 earned, 250.000 showed for the base jackpot), the earned amount being too high. * White russians did not multiply the jackpots. - The MPF ramp did not register shots directly following the bowling skillshot while the skillshot animation played. - With "Adjustment Menu -> Toys -> Bowling Alley" set to off, the game would crash when continuing to shoot the MPF ramp after spelling B-O-W-L-I-N-G. - After 3 completed car modes, the game could crash when entering the 4th car mode selection. - Removed "00" icon score after a failed bowling challenge. Version 0.56 - August 2021 Rules: - Pause timers more consistently during animations (Mark It Zero, Character Multiball intro, Mystery, Extra Ball). - When completing Z-E-R-O with an outlane rollover switch, the ball is saved (only if the ball would drain otherwise, so kickback overrides this). Changes: - Added "Audits Menu -> Main Audits" submenu with various audits. - Changed scoop, VUK and saucer coil strength range and factory default to better correspond with what is needed and to allow tweaking the strength. - The amount of time 'Shooter Lane Diverter' and 'Left Ball Gate' stay open is now shorter (but still plenty), helping detection/choreography in multiball. - Don't play "Let's Go Bowling" callout twice in a short time (lit/started). - Added 2 extra ball settings "Adjustment Menu -> TBL Rules -> Extra Balls -> After X Mark It Zeroes" and "After Completing X Rug Modes". - Stepper motor test modes now show the states of the involved EOS switches more clearly, including their names. - Added "Adjustment Menu -> Hardware -> Middle Main Board & Mini Playfield Board" setting (previously restricted to factory mode). These need to be set to the correct value after a factory reset to ensure correct functioning: * ES: Engineering Sample (you'll know when you have one of these) * REV0: No version is specified near the MIDDLE MAIN BOARD legend print. * REV1: REV1 is specified below the MIDDLE MAIN BOARD legend print. REV1 is now the factory default for Middle Main Board & Mini Playfield Board settings (previously REV0). - The "extra ball is lit" callout after completing the Xth rug mode is now played after the end animation, instead of overlapping the animation audio. - Rug Mode 5: added sound feedback when hitting the car, like the car modes. - Bowling Alley (lower) playfield lighting is being used a bit more dynamically. Bugfixes: - The flipper hold coils were not actuated in "Solenoid Test" in v0.55. - Test Report: * Menu buttons and "Plump Bob Tilt" are no longer marked as unused. * "Bowling Release EOS Left" and Spinner are no longer marked as stuck. - Improved right loop shot detection, especially noticeable when starting Character Multiball and shooting the Maude (right) loop immediately, this wouldn't be awarded. - A rug mode wouldn't start when 6 hits were required to light it (by increasing the corresponding setting or completing enough rug modes). - The "Mark it Zero" Wizard Goal insert wouldn't light when the extra ball setting "After X Mark It Zeroes" was set to 6. - Rug Mode 2 / Nihilist Showdown: the lock/nihilist targets could award multiple hits from 1 shot if they were adjusted too sensitive. - Rug Mode 2: if ending the mode at a certain moment in the lightshow that highlights the targets, those lights could stay locked on until something caused them to update again. - Rug Mode 3, since v0.54: when interrupted by the Maude character multiball, the rug mode could progress in the background causing the rug to open during the multiball and closing afterwards resulting in a stuck rug mode. - Rug Mode 5: the car was supposed to return to the closed position after the last hit, but didn't. This is now fixed. This should also fix the situation were a late last hit and mode complete would leave the car outside/stuck. - Fixed the Car's stepper motor test on-screen position speed (was too quick). - After Multiball or "Nihilist Showdown", the M-A-U lanes would have one lane blinking again, as if skillshot was active. This is now no longer happening. - Attempting to skip the "Shoot again" animation without having skipped the bonus countdown froze the game. Now skipping isn't possible (as intended). - When you collected an extra ball, the Shoot Again light would go out after playing a multiball. - The total bonus as showed on display was not correct when a bonus multiplier of 2X or higher was attached (the displayed amount was multiplied a second time). - The "Bonus X Increased" animation could be cut-off if a previous Maude rollover hit happened less than 1 second before. Version 0.55 - March 2021 Improvements: - Added "Main Menu -> Test Report" feature that reports stuck switches and switches that went unused for 20 games (starting from games played in 0.55). When issues are detected this is also visible in attract mode. - Added animation after spelling Z-E-R-O and a callout to shoot the saucer. - Added Rug Skillshot animation, audio and insert blinking. - Made skillshot explanation more compact and transparent. - Improved rug & bowling skillshot selection lightshows. - Extra Ball can now be collected during multiball. - Added scoring icon for Extra Ball alternative award. Bugfixes: - Sometimes when the ball entered the shooter lane for a new ball, a skillshot award would be awarded or at least displayed. Changes: - Added "Software Menu -> USB export" submenu to easily export the log file and database to a USB stick for support or backup needs. - Added "Test Menu -> Audio Tests" to quickly test speakers & subwoofer. - Adjusted music "ducking" levels; now duck a little less. - Tweaked bonus multiplier sound volume. - Added "Adjustment Menu -> Test Report" submenu with settings "Show In Attract Mode" and "Show switches not used in X games". Version 0.54 - March 2021 Rules: - An Extra Ball is lit after successfully completing 3 Rug Modes. - An Extra Ball is lit after completing 3 Mark It Zeroes. - Added 100k score increase for each subsequent Rug Mode completion. - Rug Mode 3: Spinner now adds paint splatters too (in addition to the jets). - Shooting the MPF ramp after spelling B-O-W-L-I-N-G now awards 5k, with a 5k increment on consecutive hits (so 5k, 10k, 15k etc.). - When failing a Bowling challenge, don't increase difficulty of spelling B-O-W-L-I-N-G. - When Maude is lit or has been played, you can continue spelling M-A-U-D-E to increase the Bonus X (2X, 3X etc. up to 10X and then a max out score). - After every Nihilist Showdown wave an add-a-ball is lit at the scoop. - Car Mode progress is now kept and displayed in the selection screen. - After completing a Car Mode, the required parking target hits is now increased by 2 (was 4), so becoming a bit easier. - Default amount of Tilt Warnings reduced to 2 (was 3, see "Changes"). - Tweaked bowling simulation so strikes are less likely. - Roaming pin challenge: outer pins now award more points than center pins. - Default amount of Nihilist target hits needed decreased from 25 to 20. Improvements: - New Tilt Warning & Tilt animations. - Enable the ball saver for 2.5 seconds in case the kickback fails. - Try to settle balls in ball trough if the trough jam spot is occupied. - Rug Mode 2: Blink target inserts every 5 seconds to remind the player. - During Bowling selection, show which character modes are lit or have been played already. - Added "Let's Go Bowling" call-out after spelling B-O-W-L-I-N-G. - Use left ramp flasher to indicate lock lit, MB ready and super jackpot. - Ball search kicks in a bit quicker, and a lot quicker when tilted. - Show progress towards various goals as progress bar around their icons and show a check mark when lit. Applies to: Mystery, Nihilist Showdown, MB Lock, Rug Modes, White Russians and Car Modes. - Added call-out of character name when the name has been spelled. - Added call-out "Car mode is lit" when completing the parking targets. - Blink inserts when spelling out a character's name and B-O-W-L-I-N-G. - During Character MB the character inserts now match the jackpot status. - Updated some bonus countdown graphics. - Multiplier sounds now build up in volume (Character Multiball). - During the loading screen, the playfield LEDs will gradually fade in. - Made some sounds louder (Nihilists, Bowling throw/pins). - Added compensation for a malfunctioning Bowling opto. - Let ball settle on bowling return switch longer before firing coil. - If the bowling return doesn't kick the ball all the way up, it can now retry without consequence for the bowling mode (used to count as a throw). Bugfixes: - Show Trampoline inserts (light/active) during Nihilist Showdown. - Light Lock Difficulty was never going 1 level above the chosen setting. - The yellow rug arrow from Rug Mode 1 would stay lit during multiball(s). - After starting a Car Mode, ball search would be disabled until something else enabled it again. - Starting Nihilist Showdown while a Car Mode was visible hung the game. Changes: - Added "Adjustment Menu -> LEDs -> Flasher brightness" setting. - Increased strength of hold coil by default & added settings "Adjustment Menu -> Coil strengths -> x Flipper Hold". - Changed "Adjustment Menu -> Standard Rules -> Tilt -> Tilt warnings" factory default to 2 (and updated selected value to 2 if it was set to 3). - Rug mechanism now clears the EOS switch in a different way to hopefully improve hit detection. - Added "Adjustment Menu -> Toys -> Bowling Left Gutter Ball Possible" & Right settings. If your Bowling Release cannot make a gutter ball on either side, this can help correct the ball path calculation. Left is "No" by default as that seems most common. Bugfixes: - Multiball would start on a round of Super Jackpots if a previous player drained out of Multiball with a Super Jackpot lit. Version 0.51 - November 2019 Rules: - When the ball is in the jets or upper playfield, timers will now be paused. Improvements: - Added progress bar to each rug mode. - Car toy moves quicker and more smooth. - Bonus sequence: every category is now highlighted by blinking the related inserts. - Trophies are earned for various goals if the player is logged in (press both flippers at the start of the game). - Added LED blink effect to each slingshot hit. - Reworked slingshot reloading to prevent "machine-gunning" slingshots. Bugfixes: - During Character Multiball, ball multipliers would be shown in the jackpot calculation but not actually scored. - Coil strength settings would be applied correctly during the session they were changed in, but the default values would be applied after a reboot. - The "Let's Go Bowling"'s ball selection could be stuck on an already collected ball. - In attract mode with the coin door open, and a ball in the shooter lane, the autoshooter sound would continuously be triggered in a rapid fashion. Version 0.48 - January 27th 2017 Improvements: - Made "Car Mode Completed" message more consistent (and informative) with "Rug Mode Completed" message by adding the award value to it. Bugfixes: - "P-ROC NOT FOUND" error message did not show up since version 0.46, that's fixed now and the message is corrected to read "P3-ROC NOT FOUND". - Fixed Rug Mode music starting too loud. - Fixed erroneous car hit registration at the start of a Car Mode. Beta Version 0.47 - January 19th 2017 Rules: - Increased spinner scoring from 1,000 to 5,000 and it can now be multiplied by the white russian (every spinner "rip" counts as one white russian sip, so you can rip the spinner 4 times with all spins multiplied). - Spinner scoring / progress towards mystery is disabled during mb play. Improvements: - Spinner hits are now visualized with an icon and show progress towards liting Mystery. - In "Let's Go Bowling" the launch button can now be pressed after 0.25 second after the bowling ball launcher starts moving, this used to be 1 second. - During "Where's The Money?" the rug will now move a little when hit. Bugfixes: - Ball gates not disabling when ball drains within two seconds of activation. - Shooting the right ramp and then immediately the MPF ramp will no longer spot a second Walter letter. - Tilt bob now doesn't register as long as the player hasn't scored any points that ball. This prevents tilting through to the next ball. - Car Mode "Car Impound" would show previous car hit animations if those were cut off after an earlier hit by the ball draining the MPF quickly. - Starting Nihilist Showdown while a Car Mode was running would confuse the car logic after Nihilist Showdown. - Tilting during Car Mode selection would skip the next Car Mode selection. - Fixed car repeatedly trying to close with a bouncing motion. - Fixed car going inside at the start or during a car mode. - Fixed music and GI being off initially after tilting the previous ball during Multiball. - If Nihilist Showdown was ended right after hitting the wave's last nihilist, the mode would sort of keep running. - Fixed various LEDs coming on when pressing the flipper buttons during Bowling Challenge or Car Mode selection. - Fixed some arrows (like lock) being visible during Rug Mode intros. - The individual Character Jackpot values would not correctly carry over to the next ball. - Maude jackpot increase for each rollover is lowered to 10,000 to balance out the fact that multiple rollovers are activated for each Maude shot. - Fixed lit scoop awards being awarded when a Rug Mode was started and the intro skipped. - Fixed Rug hit indication arrow not working after playing "Where's The Money?". Beta Version 0.46 - December 28th 2016 Rules: - Added three car modes: * "Kill The Dude's Car": hit the car 8 times before the ball is over. * "Car Chase": race Dafino by shooting the mini playfield ramp. If you hit The Dude's car that will delay him. The chase is paused when the ball leaves the mini playfield. * "Car Impound": hit the car 4 times before the ball is over. The upper flipper disables after every hit. - Each character's jackpot value (base 100,000) is increased by 25,000 when a character's shot is made when the name is already spelled. - Character Multiball now has white arrows on the character shots that are not active. These increase the corresponding character jackpot value. - Multiball jackpot rounds now consist of the major shots on the main pf, with super jackpots alternating between left ramp lock and mini pf ramp. - Multiball now has white arrows on non-jackpot shots. These increase the base jackpot value by 25,000. - White Russians can now be "stacked". Meaning that when selecting a currently lit WR, an additional WR (4 sips) will be added. The multiplier for the second WR is 3X, the third 4X, etc. - Lighting Rug Modes now starts easier (3 hits) and gets progressively harder after every 2 rug modes (4 hits, 5 hits etc.). Both are settings. - After lighting "Let's Go Bowling" you can't spell BOWLING anymore before you have played "Let's Go Bowling". - Starting a Rug Mode now contributes to the bonus. Improvements: - After spelling a character's name, the letters now stay solidly lit. - Character Multiball intro lightshows added. - Character Multiball improved shot indications. - Added a visual countup effect to the current player's score. - Lane skillshot can now be lane-changed before the ball is launched. - Start button: * the special function popup now takes longer to show up. This fixes the issue that only a really short button press would start game / add player. * solved retrigger issue were after removing a player / stopping the game a start button action would occur when releasing the start button. * the start button functionality now only works in freeplay. - During attract mode lightshows all RGB LEDs now cycle colors. - Bowling Alley stepper motor now reacts quicker to its EOS switches, preventing it from stuttering on either end. - Kickback/Trampoline animation now uses shot from the movie as background. Service menu: - Added "Install Presets" menu with difficulty presets for all the rules related settings. - Added "Adjustment Menu -> TBL Rules -> Light Lock Difficulty". - Added "Adjustment Menu -> TBL Rules -> Timers -> Skillshot length". - Added "Adjustment Menu -> TBL Rules -> Timers -> ZERO countdown length". - Added "Adjustment Menu -> TBL Rules -> Nihilists" with 2 settings for the 1st Nihilist Showdown targets hits & the increase for subsequent showdowns. - Added "Adjustment Menu -> TBL Rules -> Rug Modes" with 2 settings for the 1st Rug Mode hits & the increase for subsequent rug modes. - Added "Adjustment Menu -> TBL Rules -> Bowling -> Subsequent LGB pre-lit letters decrease". - If you experienced a delay when entering the service menu this was likely caused by the player profiles menu being repopulated every time. Now the player profiles only get loaded when this item is selected. - Stepper motor test modes now match the in game speeds of these motors. Bugfixes: - Fixed music and GI being off initially after tilting the previous ball. - Skillshot award animation would sometimes be cutoff. - The default lanes skillshot would not correctly stop in case the ball never entered a rollover, sometimes resulting in a skillshot animation at the start of the next ball. - If an Extra Ball was earned through Mystery and simultaneously Nihilist Showdown was started at the scoop; the Extra Ball would not be lit and could theoretically carry over to the next ball/player/game. - Fixed Ball Saved animation + sound being triggered in a rapid fashion causing a loud sound and weird visual effect. - When a Bowling Challenge was completed, the wrong ball icon would show. - Improved USB updating to properly handle update files that accidentally contain copy suffixes like "(1)" or " - Copy". - Player Profile editing would crash if there were less than 3 initials. - USB & Internet update code now correctly calculates required free disk space for delta updates. Version 0.45 - August 5th 2016 Rules: - Added "Roaming Pin" challenge to "Let's Go Bowling". - "Character Multiball" can no longer be canceled if it's the only thing lit at the saucer. Improvements: - When stopping the game with the start button, the ball now remains in the shooter lane for 10 seconds to make starting a new game much quicker. - Mystery animations can now be sped up by pressing both flipper buttons. - Improved bowling alley ball accuracy (which pins are being hit directly). - Car and bowling stepper motors now can compensate for EOS switch failure. - Reduced the delay/stutter when entering the attract mode from the game or after the match sequence. Service menu: - Added "Adjustment Menu -> Live -> Live serial number" menu item. Instructions and Live serials will be distributed soon via e-mail. - Added "Adjustment Menu -> Pricing / Awards -> Match percentage" menu item, with a default of 8% (was fixed at 10% previously). - Added "Adjustment Menu -> Pricing / Awards -> Highscore awards" with 5 settings for Grand Champion and Highscore 1 to 4. When a player now gets a highscore and saves it (selects profile), he will be awarded the specified amount of credits. - Added "Software Menu -> Current version -> Factory Reset" menu item, which performs a factory reset for the current version, resetting all settings, audits, highscores & profiles. - Changed slingshots coil strength range and factory default to match the new solenoids (machine owners with 23-800 slingshot solenoids will receive 26-1200 replacements). After updating to 0.45 and installing the 26-1200's (if necessary) you should set both the "Adjustment Menu -> Coil Strengths -> Slingshot Left/Right" settings to 25ms (new factory default). Bugfixes: - Fixed a special case were the rug would become unresponsive to hits. - "The Dude Abides" Wizard Goal inserts would not carry over to the next ball. - "Adjustment Menu -> Coil Strengths" settings would only apply from the time they were changed till the machine was shut down. The settings for Slingshot and Jets didn't have any effect. This is now fixed, for this reason all coil strength settings are reset to their factory default. - Ballsearch: * Is now prevented from starting when a ball is cradled. * Is now disabled during "Mark It Zero" movie clips. * Now also listens to the mini playfield ramp. - The "Right Ramp Made" switch was erroneously called "Right Ramp Enter". - Renamed the "MPF Habitrail" switch to "MPF Exit". Version 0.44 - June 7th 2016 Rules: - Hitting the rug during rug modes adds 10 seconds to the mode's timer (except for the "Where's the Money" mode where the rug is the main shot). - Regular Multiball can no longer be progressed towards or started during Character Multiball - this proved too confusing and wasn't worthwhile. - Adjusted bummer bonus to 6.900 (down from 69.000). Assets: - New Bonus countdown background & text movement. - Updated Bowling pins visualization. Improvements: - Left ramp diverter stays down shorter to prevent the coil from warming up. - During attract mode the flipper buttons now trigger random quotes. - The "Match" and "Female Form" music tracks are a bit louder now. Bugfixes: - After tilting, the rug would not detect hits for the rest of the game. - Simultaneous Rug Mode & Lock shot now discards the Rug Mode shot animation. - Bonus countdown wouldn't always have the correct length of background music. Version 0.43 - May 27th 2016 Rules: - Implemented Rug Modes rules, music & intro lightshows. - Rug & Bowling skillshots now lite those respective modes (if not lit yet). - "Mark It Zero" movie scene can now be skipped. - Added possibility to cancel starting "Character Multiball" with the launch button, so it's safer to collect "Mark It Zero" and "Let's Go Bowling". - Multiball jackpot value now is increased with each jackpot. - Light Lock targets are now blocked while Lock is lit (in other words lit locks can't be stacked). - During multiball, "Let's Go Bowling" can't be progressed towards anymore. - If 0 points are scored the ball is always saved (except when tilted). - Added setting "Adjustment Menu -> Rules -> White Russian Targets" with options "Precise", "Forgiving" and "Always add ingredient". Defaults to "Forgiving" which spots a neighbour target if the actual hit target is lit. - Added 2 settings under "Adjustment Menu -> Rules -> Ball Saver" for normal ball saver and multiball ball saver durations. Assets: - Updated rug mode intros and outros. - Added Multiball jackpot animations. - Added "Character mode ready" animation when spelling the last letter. - Added knocker sound to Match sequence. - Updated some switch & icon sounds. - Updated coloring of in-game fonts, service mode & miscellaneous. Improvements: - A new game can now be started during the Match sequence. - Shots with multiple purposes now only show the most relevant visual. - Repeated incidental icons (top right) will now re-use the previous icon so the screen doesn't get spammed with the same icon. - Reduced Bowling pins default pulse time & setting range. - The launch button can now also be used in profile screens in addition to the start button. Also added more button sounds to these screens. Bugfixes: - Ball saver would sometimes serve multiple balls. - Rug would move all the way back at start of ball without cause. - A new music track would be started in between "Let's Go Bowling" and "Character Multiball" start. - Rug mode arrows would be visible during multiball play. - Rug wouldn't always move forward when Multiball was started. - Various scoop & saucer lights would show lit modes that couldn't be started during multiball play. - Match sequence music wasn't very audible; now the Game Over music starts after the Match sequence. - Scores could be displayed duplicated from other players during highscore screens and match sequence. - Nihilist Showdown not showing the correct wave total score. - The jackpot queue of "Character Multiball" would continue after draining. - Switched right inlane & outlane switch addresses to match correct wiring. ...and many more tweaks & improvements.
