I don't like the artwork on this game at all, so it's a big put-off for me... tha game is fun to play though, although the playfield is a bit cramped.

Rad fun war based theme of a pin.
Linear in design and is basically non-stop from the first plunge.

Underrated game for sure. Most people get turned off by the theme, but you have to remember -- it's a pinball! Themes are supposed to be fantastical and off-base. The game rules are easy-peasy. Load cannons, start multiball, load lit cannon for Invincible mode and try to kill the Queen's guards (6 spot targets in the middle) in about 12 seconds. Simple to play, hard as hell to master. The top of the playfield allows you to rack up bonus multipliers as well as re-light gates and kickbacks. The top shot triggers a nice bagatelle shot in the backglass that, after lighting all 5 shields, awards an extra ball. You can also light extra balls in the inlanes from the Troll spot targets behind the Troll Guards drop targets on top.

All in all, Big Guns is fun. It's an easy to moderate game that requires calculated shots. You'll trap often and focus on cannon shots. If you brick then beware, those outlane drains are killer when the gate is closed. Also, it has one of the hardest skill shots in all of pinball and requires you to have the perfect plunger pull to get the Tower Bonus.

If you get a chance to play a fully functional one, don't pass it up. You're guaranteed to jump and give a little yelp the first time those cannons fire the balls down towards you.

Ahhh... Big Guns... I played this pin when I was younger and our family was spending a week camping at a KOA, which luckily had a gameroom. Big Guns was there and between that and the video game Gauntlet, I was a busy kid. Flash forward 20 years. As I got into pinball again, I thought about Big Guns and how fun it would be to rekindle that memory. I was able to pick up a Big Guns that was in very rough shape for cheap. I restored it, updated it with LED's and got ready to play... sadly, it was a bit of a disappointment. Apparently what appeals to you as a kid, doesn't necessarily match up with what you like as an adult. Still, I do love the artwork and theme, I like the tall backbox, love the cannons, and the sounds are complimentary. Overall, the gameplay just doesn't have the lastibility that I need. Still, nostalgia holds a place in my heart (and wallet), so its a keeper... and I do notice the kids like to play it...

I was surprised. I liked it. Not a great game but a good one. I like the 2 upper flippers and the two big guns. The interactive back glass is unique. A top pin for the 80's.

At first glance, this game is a little intimidating. The oversized head board really caught my eye the first time I saw it. I liked the animation in the back (pretty neat, but a pain to work on).

What was really cool was the first time I saw the Big Guns fire. And then, I saw it misfire and that wasn't so cool :(

Overall, a pretty cool. game that could have been done much better given everything Williams put into it. Not bad overall though.

At first glance this game just seems odd. The art is so-so, the theme is strange, and the playfield layout looks lame. Yet, I really enjoy this one. I'd explain it if I could. : )
