I started dating my wife in 2004 and her dad had an Amigo in their garage, in bad shape and covered with junk. We got married in 2011 and I bought a pinball machine and had it shopped by a local pinball guy and asked him what he could do with the Amigo. He got it all cleaned up and working 100%. It's a fun old machine!

I love this game. For sure simple rules, but still a lot of fun. Spinner, Pop-up-Post and the outline-gate.
Most friends (no pinball nerds) love it, as the understand are so easy to understand.
Light the Spinner by the right loop and than hit the spinner! Always a great feeling when it is hit hard and the 1000-wheel runs. Furthermore to get the extra-ball you need to play strategic.
I have/had several EMs, but this is my number one EM!
For sure the theme/Backglas is not the best...

Had this game for a while. Not a keeper. Was just so so.

In the top five of most racist themes, featuring a caricature of a Mexican, complete with Donkey, and a cantina scene. There's no coherence to the imagery other than to reinforce the stereotype.

The basic play is: hit the right lane to light the spinner on the left orbit shot; hit the left orbit to spin the spinner for big points and open the right gate; keep repeating the left orbit shot as much as you can to build points and bonus. It's simple and not an ineffective rules set, although the machine plays a little boxy on the right and if you have weak or hot flippers it's very hard to get the left shot correctly. I'd rate the game play as decent....but then you look up at that glass for your score, and if you don't wince, something is wrong with you.

This is a fun EM. This is more like a "players" game. It has a few shots to hit like the right scoop, which lights the left spinner, ball goes to right flipper, hit left spinner (lit) hard and opens the right outlane return gate. Hit center kick out hole for points and bonus, also lights both top pop bumpers and so on. Increase bonus beyond 10k and extra ball is lit.

My only gripe is the double bonus, it automatically lights on ball 3 (and 5 if set to 5 ball mode). I wish there was just ONE MORE sequence to hit to light double bonus, instead of it automatically happening on balls 3 and 5.

It's a fun game. Worth a few plays before it gets repetitive. Wait a day and play again. Four players can compete.

A cookie cutter em with decent art.

Lots going on for an older game but way to easy. I managed to roll the score twice the first time I played it.

I agree with most of Caucasian2Step's thoughts on this machine. It is too easy generally and needs to be steep.

That being said these era Bally's are a ton of fun. The art is excellent and very bright and vibrant. Lighting the spinner and consistently nailing it is just a ton of fun. You can usually find this one at a good price and if so don't hesitate.

Amigo is a goofy game from Bally. The theme is cartoony and for some reason, I always imagine this game in the corner of a mexican restaurant.

The Pros:
A simple and straightforward design that plays well. The exit from the right lane requires you to stay on your toes. The spinner shot feels great. One of the things I really like about this game is that the ball never stops moving with the exception of the single saucer at the top of the deck. One of the lesser known decks from the golden age of Bally/Kmiec. The Dick White art package is solid all around.

The Cons:
The Bucktoothed Donkey looks sad. The game is too easy with standard settings.

The Takeaway:
I got bored after rolling it twice on the same ball by hitting the spinner over and over. Set it up steep, wax it to a shine, freshen the rubbers and open up your outlanes as far as you can! Ariba!
