Trivia

  • Brunswick Manufacturing Company was a multi-product mechanical machine company that designed five electo-mechanical pinballs in 1932, all released in small runs. It later pursued a variety of different product lines, most notably as supplier of indoor bowling machinery. Between 1976-80, a small pinball manufacturing line was permitted to experiment in marketing games to the home market. This allowed Brunswick to take advantage of the popularity of the game at the time, and also avoid direct competition with Gottlieb, who was a vast market leader at the time. Brunswick manufactured two more electo-mechanical games: Super Star (Brunswick, 1976) and Block-a-Shot (Brunswick, 1976). Besides Alive, it produced four other solid state games: Cosmic Pinball (Brunswick, 1977), Aspen (Brunswick, 1979), Demolition Classic (Brunswick, 1979), and Circus (Brunswick, 1980).
  • Could be coverted to Aspen via a kit sold through Sears.
