Noteworthy features

  • 'Thing Hand' - Thing's hand, coming out of a box, grabbing the ball from the playfield and taking it with... uh... it.
  • 'Thing Flips' - computer-controlled flipper that eventually learns to make a tricky shot with high accuracy
  • What is the animation that appears on screen after getting 99 Bear Kicks?

Trivia

  • The Addams Family (and its Collector's Edition limited re-release) remains to this day, the best selling pinball machine of all time, moving 21,270 units.
  • The cloud topper on The Addams Family, is a remnant of an older movie script. There was plans to have a weather machine in the movie, but the idea was ultimately scrapped. By this time, Pat Lawlor had already designed a topper for the pinball machine. With a relatively low cost to produce the topper, he decided to keep it for the final game.
  • Pat Lawlor originally had plans for The Addams Family mansion on the backglass, to be an interactive backbox. Players would be able to go up to the backbox, open up the windows & doors like a dollhouse, and see what was inside. The idea was scrapped early on for cost reasons.
  • Occasionally during the attract mode and score tallying, the bottom flippers will automatically flip themselves to the finger snapping in the music.
