Art is fantastic all around on this one, crank up the pitch and it’s a fast and challenging game. Drop targets and lower pops are very exciting. My favorite EM.

Top EM from Gottlieb. Per my review of Team One (which I prefer), this is a very close second!

Much better artwork than TO! Fun is there for "just play me one more time to drop all the targets, please"

Grab one and hold onto it!

What a wonderful game, like how you have to work at building up.ypur special bonus feature. Like how the drop target special bonus 5000pt automatically relays so it continuesly keeps changing, so its tricky to get 5000pts and might have to be contended with lousy how you have to.hit center target to reset drop targets Playfield art is colorful and pops, backglass stands out aswell. This pinball should also be on everyone's top 5. A great example of e.m of the 70s.

I love the artwork on this game. Imagine putting it next to a mata hari, TOM, and a Houdini. Wow! Great drop targets that require pin point shooting accuracy. Great bang for the buck!

Often mentioned by others, the artwork on this machine is excellent.

Gameplay is solid, but I don’t necessarily see why it gets as much love as it does.

I own three wedgeheads - Atlantis, El Dorado and Abra Ca Dabra. I play Abra Ca Dabra more than the other two combined and the other two games are great players. Simple but challenging rules combined with excellent symmetry make this deck a keeper. The art package is easily one of Gottlieb’s best and the color selection and execution was masterful. The logic in playing the game is top notch and the risk/reward factor makes this game a unique challenge.

What else can you say that hasn’t already been mentioned..great art on the back glass, Playfield and cabinet..drop targets that reset..she’s a classic wedge head for sure! Give yourself time to understand how to get big points..simply the most fun em I’ve owned/played!

The only draw back on this style of Em is that they are one player games. If Abra Ca Dabra was a 2 or 4 player game, i think it would be rated higher . Also like Centigrade 37 it is hard to find one to play (and works) The shots are great. It is hard to get to the Red 5000! If you like drop targets----- this is the ONE!

Abra is a unique game for me. I’m not a fan of symmetrical layouts but this one just feels right.

-This game is a WORK. OF. ART. Wowza! It’s absolutely gorgeous in every respect. Classic Gottlieb that screams sexy.
-I absolutely love how the bonus shot moves around as you hit the slings. If you want those bonus points, you gotta watch your aim like a sniper and be careful to not ricochet off the slings.
-The bonus shot at the center is great and is definitely a risk/reward shot. Straight down the middle is not uncommon on this one!
-Such cool technology for the time. This game is a prime example of maximizing the EM tech (which amounts to nothing more than a few kilobytes of programming)! Seriously, they were pushing limits back then! Only Gottlieb had this cool of stuff back then.
-Lots is repro parts available including backglass, Playfield, plastics, etc!

-Symmetrical layout means half the amount of unique shots on any deck. This applies here too. Bummer.
-Tough to find one in good shape. Next to impossible to find one without cupped inserts. If you’re buying one, make sure you ask how bad the cupping is (it’s not a matter of if...)

Very well done. Just wish it wasn’t so symmetrical!

Great flow and fun to look at - Abra Ca Dabra keeps it simple and remains a challenge to play.

One of the best integrations of art and game play. This machine draws you into another world, filled with magic, wizardry, ghouls and goblins. Quite the looker and fun to play, Abra is a solid addition to a row of classic EMs.

Fun EM has great artwork and good rules.

Abra Ca Dabra was one of the first EMs I experienced, and even after dozens of others, I still think of it as one of my favorite. Something about the design is just perfect. It flows and plays well, giving you an array of targets and objectives, while not seeming cluttered or boring. The artwork is amazing, especially for the era, both on the playfield and the backglass. Layout is just right, and the game just has a classic EM feel that many others don't quite achieve. I've watched young kids in today's world play it over and over, even with more modern flashy DMD titles sitting nearby, which says a lot I think. I've yet to find one for my own collection, but I hope to some day.

This is one of the best pins you will ever play. Wedgehead for the ages, unique layout and smart game design are mixed with maybe the coolest playfield/backglass art of any EM. Cabinet art is also special making this one even more desirable. She is quickly getting hard to find for a reason.

Best backglass ever.

I don't know if I have this set up exceptionally difficult, but my Abra is dialed in to be one of the most challenging EM games I have ever played. Great drop target strategy with the moving bonus value target. "1000 When Lit" pops are the classic "downfall" of this game. However, my intentional shooting of the pop bumpers never goes well, and results in a quick drain, making for a good risk-reward aspect of the layout, rather than a game-ruining exploit. Climbing the bonus ladder is a challenge, and the center target is a sucker shot, but one that has to be made to reset the drops. One of the best art packages to ever grace a Gottlieb.

Artwork is awesome on this one. I can see why its ranked number 1!

A classic Gottlieb Wedge head during the time when Gottlieb was king. For me, a teenager in the 70's, it was these games from the early 70's to the early 80's (Gottlieb and later Bally)that had the best combination of awesome art work and great game play. The artwork on this machine, by the great Gordon Morison, is superb. The play field looks sparse, but the game is very lively. The strangely located pop bumpers just add to the action. I recently obtained this game out of Winnipeg and it was worth the shipping to Vancouver. My teenage kids love it. It's right up there with games like Big Brave, Centigrade 37, Jacks Open, Far Out and Atlantis. It just keeps drawing you back. Timeless.

I find the fuss about abra ca dabra a little bemusing its a ok game but cant see why its No1 , I do love the colours and its ok but comes nowhere near kings and queens for game play , just my opinion . We are all different and have our own opinions on each game , I play most weeks and will play again a few time and re review , I know sometimes it takes a while to get into games .

Such a great theme. The kickers are awesome and creates a game that keeps you guessing. Once you master it, it's still fun.

This was the first machine I ever purchased. I sold it right before moving, and I regret it to this day. The sheer simplicity of the lay-out was pinball at its finest. I would love to have this machine in my home again.

It is ok for a few games. but for me gets boring quickly, not much to shoot for that's new, same drop targets time and time again. The center stand up target is a little tougher, but that's it. No sling shouts and just not much else. Great art work on Back glass.

Great game.....excellent layout for hours of fun

Well so much has been written about this classic EM I wondered whether it would live up to expectations. Well it certainly does! A tremendous theme, great backglass & playfield art & a game logic which is simple to understand and challenging to follow The overall 'different layout' with low pop bumpers makes for terrific gamesmanship. When the Wizards eyes flash at game end it is the icing on the cake!!

Simply love everything about it. It's just a blast to play. Building up the bonus can be tough but the reward of knocking down the last set of targets and getting the special feels awesome. Also hitting the center target to reset the drop targets is a nice added touch. The lit bonus drop target that alternates, and the flow from hitting the ball thru the top rollovers and down again, make this machine definitely my favorite gottlieb machine EVER!!!! I don't know what it is but the machine just feels percect. There isn't one thing I would change about it.
